WEIGHT MANAGEMENT/LIFESTYLE/YOGA

I have been looking at the Kardashians? Yes, I think they are interesting as a statement of what our society has become.   At present, they are very worried about taking chemicals into their systems from make-up and the environment (even lobbying government), at the same time having fillers, plumpers, implants and everything else pumped into their systems, whilst conspicuously eating salads.  Salads!   Fancy carrying a child with all that rubbish in your system – not a good start for the child.

It is amazing what the body does to protect itself.  Implants get covered in a protective “slime”  and strange yellow Fungi grows inside them.  Surgeons put the most dreadful fillers into the buttocks, lips and face – even industrial caulking compounds!  Breasts are enlarged way beyond what is safe.  After the ops,  scar tissue gets thicker and thicker, and the immune system becomes severely compromised.  None of this stops women and men from making (sometimes horrible) cosmetic changes.

Years ago my students asked if we could do a “calendar girls” calendar.  When the day of the shoot came around one after the other opted out.  I felt compelled to keep going, and had a back-shot done (below).  Women show more on the Red Carpet I know, but I felt brave at the time.   I was teaching about 10 classes a week, running, and “watching what I ate”. I weighed myself at least once a day.  Like you, I was a slave.  Now-a-days people even wear “spanks” and corset underwear under their lycra they are so dissatisfied with their body.  My teacher at Gita wore ordinary black ballet leotards and fishnet stockings all year with no underwires, corsets or even a loose sweater.  She was not skinny, but she was beautiful.  And so are you!  Let’s get real, show who we are.

I am no longer the person in that photograph either.  I am older of course, I teach about 6-7 classes a week, I eat what I feel like, and guess what, I have put on a little weight.  I don’t know how much because I don’t weigh myself.   I am somewhere between size 8 and 14 in my clothing depending on what article I need, what I buy, where I buy it and the brand.

I felt guilty for a while.  My mum used to remind me to keep running when I put on a little fat..  She made wonderful pastry but monitored how much we ate, no cakes, no sugar and breakfast was a slice of see-through bread with a tiny slice of tomato. Thinking about it now,  I was a slave to my weight, and all that implied.  I wore make-up every day, I went to the hairdresser once a month, I dyed my hair to cover the grey etc etc.  None of those now apply, and I feel a whole lot better (I do wear lippy).  I still look after my body, my skin, my hair and my days.  I have put the calendar girl BACK shot below. so you can view the past.  To see my video about my present look (not naked) go to “jahne hope-williams, youtube”.  (It is side-on and I couldn’t turn it around, I hope you can on your computers – if you can’t, I will do a sit down shot.  Barbara Cartland said always to sit down for photographs after age 55.

 

Like me, take a new look at your life, and love being you.  You are perfect just like you are –  and you are all you have got.

 

THE FIRES:

More rain thank goodness, and more on the way.  That does mean I have to wait to get my gutters updated, but it is a small issue.  Next year I will be even more prepared for the fire season.  I will update my garden soakers, the gutters will be organised, and all the little holes around the windows will be blocked.  I will also consider roll down fire protection screens on my windows.

I did learn something from my reading about fire protection.  If you are replacing floor coverings, put a layer of tin foil insulation between the floor and the next layer.  It is the easiest way to insulate the floor!  Seeing that flooring is on my to-do list, I will make that change.

 

CHAIR YOGA:

I have been so pleased with the Chair Yoga.  Not that I have been inundated, but it has caused lots of conversation around town, and that is the first step to new clients.  They may not want chair yoga, however may come to one of the other offerings – and this is what is happening.  Thank you to Deb, Patrick and everyone at the Woodend Neighbourhood House.

 

TAROT READING CLASSES/PENDULUM:  

Our next training class starts on the 14th of March at 2pm.  We already have pre-bookings, yes, there is room for you.  When you know how to use your pendulum you can decide on  how many vitamins to use, what yoga classes to go to or include in your offerings, how to deal with unfortunate circumstances.  You can also dowse to decide what to plant in your garden, what weeds to eradicate, why trees aren’t growing and where to put statues. And more.

HEALING SICK HOUSES is something that can be achieved with Dowsing Rods and/or pendulum, and is a subject we will be touching on.  ENERGY SAVING around the home is another subject.  Pendulums can take the mystery out of these decisions.

 

REGISTRATIONS/MODULES ETC.

Thank you all those students who have re-registered.  There is certainly a lot of discussion around this topic.  We did get a couple of students who dismissed the whole idea, and that is their point of view HOWEVER, I view this as a way for you to keep contact with us, to support us, and demonstrate that you respect and are grateful for the qualifications you achieved through us.

I have been reading lately about start-up teacher training schools (not just one) whose owners have stolen training manuals from established schools (under the guise of wanting to become teachers),  in order to get a fast start.  It is not yoga.  There is not much that we can do about it, except trust that everyone who comes to us is genuine, and will work to establish their own school when the time comes for them to do that.  Stealing will not benefit them in the end, but it is disappointing when we learn if it – which we inevitably do.

 

The journal pages to help you are on Etsy.  They match the to-do things I encourage you to journal every day to complete your yoga teacher training,  They can be totaled and used to compile your passport, which is s stumbling block for some students, but necessary to get better marks at the end of the course.  No Passport? No distinction! Simple.  To this little chore DAILY.

 

MASSAGE: Busy, busy but there is always room for you.  Please email me to book.  As in the tarot – my heart, my intuition leads.  I do not do massage (tarot or anything else) “by the book”.  My advice?  First, EAT THE BOOK.

 

PAST LIFE CONSULTATIONS: Lets travel to the past or to the future.  Just let me know when you would like to do it.  Remember you will need 2 hours.  I do this for myself, and it helps enormously, although I am still working out what my per elephant REALLY means.

There have been changes, I have dropped a few studio classes to allow me to do more EVERYDAY CHAIR YOGA CLASSES.  Re-instating the Wednesday 6.30 HATHA Class at the Studio due to requests.

MONTHLY TEACHER TRAINING AT THE HOME STUDIO:

DATE of the next Teacher Training:   Sunday 1st March,  2pm to 4pm  at my home studio (37 Morris Road in Woodend. There is no need to book. Bring writing materials, and be early. If you are a Yoga Teacher Training student then the cost of the afternoon is $20.  This fee applies to everyone. (Visitors are welcome – even those not yet in teacher training – $30).   Subject:  Nauli.
