CHAIR YOGA/NDIS

At present I am teaching these classes at..

WINDARRING, BayntonStreet, Kyneton Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1.30,  and next to the Library in Gisborne at 9.30 on Tuesdays

I have NDIS ID, and can work under the NDIS plans with the acceptance of your supervisor, and if learning yoga specific to your needs meets your plan. I am also working towards a Cert IV IN DISABILITY which will enable me to move forward as an NDIS PROVIDER.  If you have interest in NDIS provision, please contact me at yogafirst2@bigpond.com

This specially designed yoga program is for people with mobility issues and utilises a chair rather than the floor mat. Yoga exercises work to develop core strength and improve balance as well as providing techniques for relaxation without having to get onto the floor. You will be amazed at just how much exercise you will be able to do whilst seated in a chair.

Class Outline:

  • Gentle stretch movements from the seated position
  • Some supported standing poses
  • Fall prevention
  • Meditation/mindfulness and breathing practices
  • Relaxation for healing and gathering peace
  • Laughter

WHAT IS CHAIR YOGA/NDIS WITH JAHNE

Chair Yoga is a specially designed yoga program for people with mobility issues and utilises a chair rather than a floor mat. It is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available and does not require participants to get up and down off the ground. It’s a great option for those in older age or if you’re coming back to exercise after an injury or time away.

If you or your client have limited mobility in any direction, and a limited ability to understand new regimes, we can still work together and get great benefit.

Class exercises work to develop core strength and improve balance. Students deepen their flexibility and in time, achieve better mobility. Relaxation techniques enhance wellbeing and improve mental clarity. Students leave class feeling flexible and strong.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

At our classes you’ll feel welcome in a small, friendly class. Students feel comfortable working at their own pace and ability.
