Hi Yogis,

Last week I made an experimental week – I only posted on Monday.  Nobody noticed so I guess once is enough.  I think once is NEVER enough, but that is just me.  It takes a while to do three or even two newsletters a week, and as none of you noticed or posted, I will persist with the one a week – if you want more, then it is up to you to make a noise.

What happened last week? As I said I found a distributor of Vellum that I am printing card images on.  It is beautiful, gives soft and lovely images, and so different to printing on paper.  The distributor is in Shepparton, so not far away, although it does take more that two days to get to Woodend.  On the plus side the paper is securely packaged and just could not be damaged by Australia Post unless they really focussed.

ART SALE.  The Lions Club had a sale of art works on Sunday, frames, prints, odds and ends that people brought to raise money for the food bank charity.  I thought it was a good idea, but none of the items were  marked with a price, and the idea was that you negotiated with the person in charge when you found something you liked.  I was not a fan of the method.

If they had followed Windarrings lead, they could have put stickers on each (a great system) – red for $5, green for $10, blue for $20 and so on, we could have all been clear and I think more would have been sold.  I found one or two I liked but no way was I going to barter and pay too much for a badly framed print.  I did see people pay $50 for very ordinary poster style prints, not originals.   I would rather save my money and put it towards an original at The Mount Macedon Gallery, or Art on Piper, as much as I thought that the charity was sorely in need of every dollar.

At the end of the day there was not many gaps where items had sold, and the organiser said that he was going to take to left overs to the op shops, and the canvasses to the schools to paint over!
