Dear Yogis,

After more than 15 years (when we were the “ground breakers” in web site design), our asana videos have given up the ghost.  If you are considering joining the course, or are new to the course, we now supply the videos on USB.  The students are loving it and it puts the control firmly in their court.  Winter is on the way, just around the corner and if you were in Woodend you would really know it was.

The upside with our weather are the fields dotted with marvellous fungi.

CLEAN AND GREEN

I have been making and experimenting this weekend, spurred on by living with my new wood stove (so comforting).  So “Little House on the Prairie” if you were old enough to remember that.

I made washing powder, fabric conditioner, Hungary Water, various teas, and last night put a couple of trays of Pine Mushrooms in the dehydrator.  What a treat.  You should see my pantry cupboard – it is bursting at the seams.  Today I have to take photographs and write the recipes down.

The washing detergent is so inexpensive I just couldn’t believe it.  For the initial items in BULK – remember I only used a fraction of any of these – it cost $4 for the Lectric Soda, $2.50 for the bi-carb, $8 for a bag of magnesium flakes and a few drops of essential oils.  For just a fraction of each of these I made enough “laundry bombs” in two cake pop trays, plus fabric softener which will give me enough for months of laundry.  Probably cost something like 50cents per wash max, maybe even less.  It got the whites super clean and they smell fresh – as if you had hung them outside.  Just throw three little “bombs” into the wash, put the softener in the little tray,  and away we go.

Today I am going to make spin dry sheets.  You can buy these at exorbitant cost (In the States I used “Febreeze”), and once I have tested them I will let you know the cost and the result. In the past I have made SPIN-DRY BALLS out of wool scraps (synthetic are not as effective).  These work well in the dryer to reduce static and creases and with the addition of a few drops of essential oil make the clothes smell lovely.  It will be interesting to see what the sheets do.

THEN I WILL WRITE ABOUT THEM.  You will be able to get all my secret recipes on ETSY. “CLEAN AND GREEN with Jahne”.

TEACHER TRAINING:  Unfortunately there appears to be a glitch in the videos – some can read them, some students can’t, so we will probably discontinue their use as they have been difficult over the last few months.    I have a USB with them all on, and I will be sending this in lieu of the videos to all NEW students.  This may prove to be a better option.

WEEKLY MEETINGS:  We have free Teacher Training zoomed on Mondays, and I am open to a yoga teacher asana class/meeting in the studio WHICH WE HAVE ORGANISED FOR EVERY SECOND SUNDAY BETWEEN 2 and 3pm.  THIS IS STARTING THIS COMING SUNDAY (June 5th – 2pm).
