Dear Yogis,

Thank you for those people who turned up on Monday for our FREE Teacher Training.  It was great, and went on longer than anticipated which is a good sign.  We focussed on Hypermobility, Collagen and Connective Tissue which is why I asked you all to join in.  I did write a book or two about it – you can find on Etsy of course – The Cranio Sacral Connection.   On the YouTube channel you will find it in the playlist HYPER, and at COLES (yes Coles) you will find The New Scientist Magazine which features THE MATRIX this month.  Not the Keanu Reeves version, but the absolute latest research on connective tissue.  If Keanu was featured then I am sure Connective Tissue would get much more attention than it does.  All you reading this who are in pain for whatever reason should read this issue…  you should also download my little book and go onto the YouTube channel.  It is worthy of your concentrated attention.

I don’t know if you remember when we invited you to live off $2 per day which we learned was what the majority of refugees (and people on the street) live on.  You have to prepare for this which is an advantage most folk on the streets don’t have.  But if you do prepare it is doable, especially if you have a garden and if you know how to forage – in which case I found it could  be a very enjoyable challenge.  I might do it again in June for a week, and invite you to let me know if you would like to join me in this challenge.

Save, save save.  Remember the past – There was the Spanish Flu, followed by “The Roaring Twenties”, and then THE GREAT DEPRESSION. We have had the first, and are sort of in the second. but the wind is turning.  The books will need to be balanced.

VITAMINS FOR YOU –
I was at chemist warehouse this morning,
and having had the same experience at Coles and our local chemist (and various health food shops), I can see a big change.  It isn’t “happening” –  it is here.  Have you noticed it?  The vitamins are bundled into headings “sleep well”, “energy boost”, “wellness” or whatever.  I believe this allows the manufacturers to bundle minuscule amounts of nutrients together, and thereby save money and charge more.  Seeing we need about 5,000mg of Vitamin A per day I opted for Foraged greens… I was really paying attention.  Making sure my intake was high enough.

You can get individual vitamins if you look hard, but they are about double the price.  I was looking this morning for Vitamin A and B.  Coles had a “two for One” vitamin offer, and it was the cheapest ($30 for two, B and C) but Coles as with many businesses has become a clearing house, so I don’t know how old the vitamins were and suspect that the two for one offer told me they were older.

In the stores I tried, I couldn’t get A vitamins on their own, and B vitamins under $27.50 which is top of the range Blackmores.  Then I remembered Brewers Yeast.  What does Brewers Yeast contain? It is one of the best sources of  VITAMIN B.  How much was it? $8.95 for 500mg per tablet!  Then the fruitless chemist search for vitamin A usually over $30 and in very small bottles.  What is natures store-house of vitamin A (apart from chicken livers at 32,200units for 3 livers, meat, fish and eggs)? DANDELION GREENS.  One cup is 27,300 units and the cost – FREE.   To discover the value of herbs, please hop on to our our Herbal Tuesday zoom sessions.

STICKABILITY.

Akari in Kyneton is changing hands again.  Although yoga has to be a business in order to sustain us, it is difficult on students that owners come and go.  New owners start a “forever” business, build it up, get the clients, and then move on to the next thing (Jayne at Crusoeden Health in Bendigo being one of the leading local exceptions in Bendigo).  We are teaching people about life, reality….Yoga teachers, owners of yoga studios (the lynch pin of the local yoga community) surely should be a long term commitment.  I was trained by Margrit Segesman who started the Gita school in the 1960’s and only departed when she died.  She semi-retired when physically not able to teach, but was still at the helm to the last.  She was and is, the inspiration to her students even now..  SHE is my mentor.  There are No Greener Pastures.  We are planted where we are planted, not just for the good times, not just for the money, not just to lead to the next step in out yoga empire – but for the Now in every day.

You have to know that when Taylor Swift (who didn’t get past year 10)  gets a Doctorate from NYU, that things are not what they seem to be.  Life isn’t about the next chord, or the next “grabby” lyric.  What really is next?
