Dear Yogis,
Well, we are one week into the new year, and it looks like it is going to be a fabulous one. I am looking forward to it. You were not as thrilled as I was by the discovery of the 32,000 year old seed (alpine daisy) that survived the permafrost and grew afresh, you were not floored or disturbed by the 15,000 persons who died of covid last year – many are pretending it is over and done with – but I hope you are thinking how you can enlarge your yoga teaching. Maybe in this much needed field, to encompass the disabled in your community. Not just people in wheelchairs, I am talking about people with serious mental and physical disabilities. People with real difficulties in comprehension and expression. The people I teach yoga to.
Today for instance I had fabulous classes. Classes where I could see the changes which we made no matter how small. For instance, I learned that one client can hear me better if I sing the instructions (yes, sing). Support workers, physics, and parents are saying that the clients concentration is longer, they are moving better, they are breathing better (and they look better). I do crazy things so that my students can hear me, and know I am listening to them. I also did a 15 minute impromptu class with the support workers which was rather wonderful. I am sure both the clients and I will reap the benefit of this new understanding and participation.
BEES, BEES, BEES: I am getting my bees back.
Well, I am getting bees back into the garden. This time I have determined to be more disciplined, and really care for them. They can be time consuming. I am also going to be offering honey from my hives… Last time it was a bit of a novelty and I have only run out of my personal stash a short while ago (it lasts forever).
This time I have determined I am going to do it properly, so, those out there who would like to bathe in honey – I will be your one stop shop!

I have got quite a few students who want to know how I teach YOGA TO CLIENTS WITH DISABILITIES. I am pleased to write about it, and I will soon be able to teach it, via zoom. Please register your interest with me. Email yogafirst2@bigpond.com
