Dear Yogis,

Vale Barry Humphries and Barry Humphries who both died recently.  What will we do without them?  They were both genius in their field.  The only person in the media we really have left from that era is Philip Adams.  Please Philip, don’t give up – We need you!  As an “aside”, there seem to be a number of deaths which happen during or as a result of hip surgery.  Are too many being done, are they practiced on people who are not up to the rigours of this surgery?  There are successes, but then there are a lot of failures, and there seem to be number of deaths.  The stats would be interesting.

THE LUNCHEON:   Don’t forget.  New class on Sunday (make a note in your diary) and THIS SATURDAY coming up is the YOGA LUNCHEON at 1pm at “The Lone Wolf Saloon, High Street, Woodend.

DESIGNER MENDING and Making for the exhibitions……
I have been working hard to keep up with the sewing that is needed.  If you research King Charles, you will see that he is “The Patron Saint of Patches”.  His clothing is always patched and mended.  It appears that he doesn’t keep up with the work needed… but his clothes are worn (by him) until all that is left is the seams.  Even his shoes show repairs on the uppers as well as the soles.

I had a time of great joy on Sunday when my orange jacket was worn to church to great acclaim.  It is not often I see the result of my hard work worn in conspicuous places, and receiving interest and congratulations…  I miss it sitting on my dress form as I could see it whilst I worked.  It didn’t stay there very long I must say, and sold in short time. I did think I would exhibit it, but was overjoyed to get the sale.  One of my clients asked when I was going to do a workshop to show others these skills – easy answer – I AM NOT.  You need patience and passion, and I don’t meet many people with either.

Whilst I complete mending and making  for clients, I am trying to work on pieces for my exhibition in July (Wearable Art Exhibition, Jubilee Hall, 15th July at 1pm to 4).  In order to do the required number  I need to do one item per week.  I have on the drawing board and in various stages of being done….   1. denim shorts, top and jacket, 2. evening ensemble, 3. trousers and top, 4. Japanese styled ensemble and 5. embroidered coat.  All of these repurposed fashion – interesting, trendy.    I always overload myself.
