REGARDING THE OFFICE:
If you want to speak to office staff or me, we are available at odd times, but you can book a time. To Talk Money/Accounts, speak to Jacky on Wednesdays at 9.30 to 1’ish. Business hours: please Ph: 0354 273 518. To get help directly from me, I am always available on the email and am not always at my desk. Don’t hesitate to email me and I will answer your email or text as soon as I can.

WITH REGARD TO STUDENT INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION:
This is not a right, it is a great privilege. And it CAN BE awarded under very specific conditions.
- That you are current regarding your course payments
- That you are sending in your modules regularly to achieve your full teaching qualification
- That I am comfortable that you can in fact teach (and it is not just about asanas)
- And that you agree to teach only what has been taught to you to the date of getting the insurance.
If you meet these requirements, then AND ONLY THEN, I can ask the insurance company to grant STUDENT insurance.
IF INSURANCE IS GRANTED YOU CAN ONLY TEACH TO THE POINT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT. YOU CANNOT TEACH FROM YOUR OWN HISTORY, OR WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TEACH IF IT IS OUTSIDE WHAT YOU HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN TAUGHT BY YOUR TEACHERS. THAT INCLUDES WHAT OCCURS ON THE VIDEOS ( nominally your teacher). IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A CLIENT AND YOU HAVE BEEN TEACHING FROM YOUR OWN SYLLABUS YOU ARE NOT COVERED BY OUR INSURANCE.
I re-iterate, the student registration and insurance is a privilege, and it is not a right and it is not automatic. It took us years to achieve for you and I have been disappointed by the careless way some of you have approached your studies and your school. Please honour it and honour us by adhering to the requirements. Keep in mind that your insurance can be suspended if I am in doubt about your suitability to teach..
From now on your Student Registration will make it clear that you are still a student. This may be inconvenient, but it is an answer to a problem. As soon as you complete the course and graduate you will be given FULL Registration documents. As soon as you start teaching or at the end of your first year on the books, the clock is ticking. Only when you graduate will you be awarded a Full Registration YA350/RYTA200 and be fully accredited. You will then be able to apply to YA and achieve Health benefit Rebates for your clients. Yoga is not fitness. There is more to it than asanas, anyone can teach asanas. It is the WHY we do what we do that is important.
REDWOODS
I don’t suppose that many of you have visited the stand of Giant Redwood Trees in the Otways, or in the USA. They are breathtaking in their size and age – hundreds of years old. How far do you think the roots go down to hold the great trees up? Not far at all if you compare them to Oaks for instance which are like icebergs – more underneath than there is on top.
Redwoods do it differently. Their roots go out sideways, they are wider than they are deep. Every tree does this. Tiny trees, saplings and the patriarchs of the forest. They are held up by the others in the group interlinking their roots. When you walk around the forest of Giant Redwoods you too are held up by the network of roots under your feet. You can’t feel it – but it is there. No matter the storm, no matter what happens, this network of roots underground intermingling and co–operating provides a firm and stable framework. Nothing can push these guys over – even when they die. They can be hit by lightening, they get broken, but do not fall.
This what our yoga school, our Sangha tries to do for you. It was set up to be a cooperative in nature. Our fees are very economical, our payment plans are achievable. We offer what we can to help you on to be the best yoga teacher you can be as soon as you can, and your yearly Registration is the unseen network that holds us up. There is no specific requirement to be part of the Sangha, it is a choice. If you decide you are not interested or want to save the yearly $145 that is your choice, but when the wind blows, you will be on your own, and there will be a little hole in the fabric of the school where you should stand. If you are proud of the school, your qualifications, of what you have achieved, you have achieved it because we created the conditions that allowed you to do it. Thank us by being part of the network, by Registering gladly, with joy. As it asks in the ‘Gita (and in the Purushatras) “Where does your duty lie, to whom are you devoted”.
YOUR FILES
I am catching up with your files. It appears that quite a few of you have been allowed to join the school WITHOUT completing the full enrolment application forms. When I discover this to be so, I have to ask you to fill the gaps otherwise you don’t comply to the requirements, and we can’t graduate you until the file is complete.
I ask you in advance for your patience and prompt response. I can assure you that the accounts are all fine. We know who you are and we know how much you have paid, and you may have been receiving modules… it isn’t until I look deeper that the missing pages become evident. It is not your fault, it should have been followed up as you enrolled, but Debbie was so pleased to hear from you she didn’t. I can’t let it slip. Thank you for your patience.

YOUR MODULES
Your modules are getting better all the time. I think that its because you are taking your time, reading the instructions, reading the questions properly, and generally feeling more confident. This is not a Doctorate you know!
Please understand that you are not the only person on the course – NAME, MODULE NUMBER AND PAGE NUMBER ON EVERY PAGE SENT TO ME PLEASE. I READ and mark each module, from every student and I do it myself. That’s a lot of reading and lots of writing from and to a lot of students – and assures the personal touch that you signed up with us to achieve. PLEASE HELP ME by numbering each page you send me, and putting them in order. Make sure all the pages are there, no drawings missing. If you are a “12 page plus drawings” type of student, then post them.
I try to imagine life without being able to speak to God, but none of the days without that special energy have the same laughter, or opportunities…..
CLASS TIMES
$10 per class or 11 classes for $100 (save $10 = one class for free)

No need to bring props – mats etc unless you want to – everything is provided.
The HEATING is back on. Fixed. So I will be able to hold a WARM YIN on Wednesdays. Couldn’t do it without being able to take the temperature of the room up.

NEXT TEACHER TRAINING CLASS
The next will be on Sunday 4th December, 2pm to 4pm (followed by restorative yoga at 4.30) at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room. Please join us. If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10. If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20. We have had the most wonderful trainings, there is nothing like them. Please do come.
CHRISTMAS /SCHOOL HOLIDAY SESSIONS
We will be closed from the 23rd of December to the 3rd January (first class on the 4th). Apart from that the classes will be as usual. There will be a $100 unlimited class pass that will apply from the end of the school term 19th December to the start of the new school term 26th January. If you don’t have a pass, each class will be $20. This is an expensive time of the year, students ask me to be open, say they will come, and don’ – but my expenses don’t stop. At least in this was I will know that there is a guaranteed small income. Your usual class pass will be held closed for these dates and can be used again in the new year. You won’t lose any time or money.
GIFT VOUCHERS
Vouchers are available (all year) for $100 or $50 class passes, and massage $95 one hour or $50 half hour. Please contact me and we will arrange it. Email yogafirst2@bigpond.com
HEALING SESSIONS
Don’t forget to make an appointment for a healing MASSAGE. The HerbalRaindrop is fantastic, Bowen if you have a bad back, Relaxation Massage if you are tense and anxious. You can choose.
We have had some amazing healings to date, and there are times when I am able to see the past life originations (not all the time). If you would like to come, look at the yoga timetable and make an appointment before or after the yoga times. Give me a couple of options just in case I am busy. I can do a beautiful massage and a healing together or just a healing. The healings are by donation. Massage is $95 per hour or $50 per half hour.

LYONVILLE YOGA
The Yoga Shala in Lyonville is an Affiliated School with The Australasian Yoga Institute. It is not easy to get this Affiliation, and we are so pleased that they have embraced our ways and moved forward holding hands with us. Our ways are not easy, and Francis and Fabio have taken up the challenge. Their programs have always been like The Giant Redwoods described above– deep and wide.

GARDENING
Not much gardening this week apart from keeping up with the weeding in the beginning of the week and then studying back because of the rain at the end of the week! I have been working hard on your modules, I can’t do both. Weeding out your modules or weeding in the garden. One at a time. Everything is growing beautifully.
Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things.

ESSENTIAL OILS
If you do massage, or like using essential oils in your studio or home, I have a wonderful supplier, and I have been buying oils in bulk and can now on-sell them. They are not watered down, but neither are they hugely expensive. When you are dealing with the MLM’s then you are paying multiple commissions, for me that doesn’t apply. I am selling beautiful oils at good prices. I will put a full list in next weeks newsletter, but if you have special needs – or are looking for special oils, let me know. Of course if you want rare absolutes (like Pink or White Lotus for instance) it will be much more expensive, but they will be pure, and they will be the best price I can do. yogafirst2@bigpond.com

OOPS!! YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley
They are the best and will form the backbone of your yoga references. As I have told you before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each. I thought that this was a good investment, and I still do. Since my admin staff departed, I have taken over the ordering of these precious items, and recently noticed a BIG discrepancy between the invoice price and the customs price. Debbie had an explanation, but the reality was we had been charging what we had been charged in USDollars (Invoice price), and ignoring the shipping documents which were actually in Aus.dollars (Customs price). There was no indication on either document re. the currency but there is a huge difference. Now, Sorry, I have to bring us all into the real world. I have had to increase the price – Now I have to charge $57.50 for each of them – ouch! They are still cheaper than I paid for mine initially so don’t let the price deter you. At twice the price they were still worth having. With Christmas coming, please order yours today (or send one to a friend).
