Dear Yogis,
My gorgeous son Jesse is in town (lives in Vancouver) organising home help etc for his father who has suffered a major fall. Every cloud has a “golden” lining, and it has meant we have spent time together. Yesterday we went to the Grand Hyatt for lunch and he presented me with the most magnificent bunch of flowers – I don’t think anyone in my life has ever bought me such a bunch. It wasn’t easy to bring it home on the train but I managed, and it is now in a big vase in the yoga room.
Because I was early I popped into the Melbourne City Library, I was offered a block of time to do art or yoga classes, and then I popped in to the Theosophical Society (I borrowed a book) and was reminded that my cards had sold out. I am thinking about how to do these things. So much work, so little time. I am thinking that in future I will be inclined to do a day in town following up these leads. Back to work today – “Restorative plus magic circle” in the studio and then the dentist!
I have had such success with the Magic Circle that I am introducing it to most classes, especially the Disability Yoga classes. They are easy, fun, and everyone loves them. The Circle itself can be purchased in Kmart for $10, on Temu for about $7.50 but on the web anything up to $96 for a pink one or $256 for a Circle, strap, block and a pair of slippers. For $256 I would need more than that!
WHY USE A MAGIC CIRCLE?
- TONE INNER AND OUTER THIGHS, core, upper arms, hips, and legs.
- PERFECT YOUR POSTURE with our routine which improves muscular strength, balance and posture.
- GET FIT AND STRONG using this at home equipment, (and join our zoom classes from next Wednesday at 6.30. This time a set of four classes perfect for yoga teachers who wish to add another aspect to their classes – 1. restorative, 2. hatha, 3.strength and 4. disability not necessarily in that order).
WHATS ON.
Windarring Yoga – Kyneton Tues. 1pm, 9.30AM in Gisborne (10 week term ending end of September).
STUDIO YOGA WOODEND: Although these are small classes I take them VERY seriously. Monday Hatha 1pm (full) Wednesday Restorative 1pm, FRIDAY RESTORATIVE 10am
DISABILITY YOGA CLASS (YOGA FOR WHEELIES AND WALKERS) in NORMA RICHARDSON hall, starting 9.30am every Wednesday (or a bit later) by donation. Arrive around 9.30 and we will start when we are settled. I will be leaving around 11am.. I am not sure how long the class will last, or how long it will take to get everyone ready and moving, but we will be relaxed, and see how it goes. Two students or more we always have a great class. We are change makers.
>>>>>ZOOM DISABILITY YOGA TEACHER TRAINING. Our zoom section is done. If you want to join the class, you will have to wait for the next one towards the end of the year. If you want to join our regular Monday zoom class, you can, but you will need to email me to get the ZOOM ID.
MAGIC CIRCLE TEACHER TRAINING CLASS starts Wednesday Sept 28th at 6.30 x 4. No-one responded to the original call, so I have sent the call out to teach the class to other teachers. A 4 part teacher training. Maybe you are not convinced, and you won’t be, until (like me) you introduce it to yourself, and then your classes. I even did a supported plank yesterday and could immediately see how this one exercise would help my class.
Luckily via zoom and writing, I can introduce the new way I am working to an overseas group of dedicated teachers who are always looking for new, efficient add-ons to help their classes… this is where the web has real value (see the quote above).
If you are enrolled and started the zoom training above, and/or the Disability course, there is a chance that I will get approval to accept my students for a period of placement with me.
NEXT STUDIO TEACHER TRAINING – The last Sunday in August THIS SUNDAY the 25th AT 2.30
YOGA MONTHLY LUNCH: Last Saturday in the month 12 noon at Full Moon next to the Vic in Woodend. . Please email me if you would like to come.
NAMASTE – JAHNE
