Dear Yogis,

I miss you and have to rethink “what to do”?  During covid I called my blog WILD AND WEEDY, and had a surprising number of followers, even for the blog about “how to rip up a sheet” which was in answer to what to do if one couldn’t get toilet paper.  In these troubled times a very good blog might about the lack of petrol and how to make your own, but I can’t help you with that.   I have for some time envisaged that food security would be an issue, and I suggest that we all take this issue seriously, but apart from inviting you to my garden I can’t help you with that, and you are welcome to chat.

Right now we are in the middle of an information war.  Albanese and Trump say all will be well, but Barnaby Joyce seems to be more concerned with everyday Australians – how are we going to get to work, how will the producers get food to our tables and so on – the cost of living.  Answer let’s do more yoga and make more art!

ART – I actually have a lot on my plate at the moment, what difference will one more thing make!!  it might tip me over the edge, but I don’t think so.  I want to make an ART JOURNAL (maybe more than one) and I think I will call it “THE GARDEN DREAMINGS”.  That name contains within it lots of references to books, poems and gardens I love, and of course “dreamings”, one of my very favourite pastimes.  .   I’ ll will let know when it is out of the “dreamings” stage and is a fully formed reality.

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Hi there Yogis (and others)  Thanks to those who came to our lunch – it was fantastic!!!

ART.

I have a number of exhibitions and surprises coming up.  I know there is a lot of depression around at the moment about both yoga and art. But those of us who keep going will see the tough times through whether that is in yoga or art.  Speaking of that I sold 8 paintings at The Mt.Macedon Gallery YESTERDAY (even the little dragon on the left) .  A total surprise and glorious.  Thanks to the Universe.  I have been saying “keep on keeping on” and it obviously pays off.   By the way, three paintings sold as well as the 8 at the gallery, and I have a commission.   I think I can call that a good result for the month.

The little dragon to the left is one that sold (of course – he is beautiful).

SNAIL MAIL: MANTRAS Monthly Print Club! You will receive a real paper letter via Australia Post.  I am sure you know that Australia Post is discouraging us from sending mail by upping the price per envelope.  By sending out many, I am in a small way encouraging the PO to keep on keeping on.  One letter is $1.70 in Australia and they are already planning to lift it to $2.10.  This is happening around the world.  Artists everywhere are fighting back by starting their own mail clubs.

For myself, I would not have been able to teach yoga remotely if it was not for the postal service – I used to send out hundreds of letters a year.

IF YOU JOIN THE CLUB –

Each month,  subscribers will receive

  1. A hand signed original print of my tea bag art,  approximately 5inch x 7inch print, depending on the size of the original – remember I do paint art in miniature.
  2. A letter from me!
  3. A recipe relating to the botanical I have painted,
  4. and other surprises that come to hand during the month
  5. INCLUDING THE OCCASIONAL GUEST ARTIST PRINT!!THE COST:  $16.26 for one month, $32.52 for a print each month for two months, and $48.78 for a print each month for three months.
you can subscribe and pay by going onto our landing page www.yogabeautiful.com.au, and clicking on Pay via paypal.  Don’t forget to put your name and home address so I can send the print(s) to you.

YOGA:  I am a member of YOGA AUSTRALIA, and am in discussions to become a Community Representative – I am not sure what this means, but YA is become much more outward looking, rather than the usual inward gazing, and I am happy to join the community group if it will add an injection of enthusiasm to the function of Yoga as a lifestyle not a fitness regime.  We shall see.  You could talk to them about being a representative in your area.
