TEACHERS:   Re your videos.

When I price the course I do the costings on the basis that you will take 12 months to complete. Although I say you can take as long as you want, there are a few constraints. Firstly, if you don’t chat with us regularly via email, and you don’t send modules, we presume you have diplomatically withdrawn. Secondly, the video subscription is automatic and added into the course fees for the first year only. When you come to the end of 12 months you must pay to re-subscribe if you want to continue with the videos. Some people take years to complete. I can’t factor the yearly video fees into the course for a course that might take you 3+ years to complete. Everyone would have to pay extra because you are lagging behind – I am sure you agree it would not be fair. Some people finish quickly, would they have to pay the extra video fees too?  Even if you don’t watch the videos, they are still charged on the basis of 12 months at a time.  If you get the 160 hours done in 12 months, you don’t need to re-sign for the videos – but the hours need to be recorded properly in your journal, then totalled monthly for your passport.

This course is economical. Please understand that we charge as little as we can for what we provide and on top of that, allow you time payment.. We do everything we can in order to allow the course to be completed even by those in difficult circumstances, and absorb the increases in charges to us as often as possible. We don’t do the yearly increases that many courses do (although maybe we should).

It took us years to get the insurance company to insure at the STUDENT level, and eight years to get Yoga Australia to Accredit us because we have a distance ed course…   in spite of the fact that we see them registering quickie courses that teach a very rudimentary form of yoga – hardly any philosophy and none of the more difficult spiritual asanas.

We hope you will think about this (and the yamas) when you start niggling about the dollars and cents (after you have lagged behind and put us last on your list of commitments). Keep in mind we have to pay our way in the world too.

The yoga classes at the Studio and the Church are going well. As part of my contribution to lunch I take Kombucha. I also speak to people at Coles when I see them reaching for the Kombucha for $5 to $7 a small bottle!!! This has generated a lot of interest in making the precious fluid at home. However, I have learned that hardly anyone has the confidence to play just in case they make a mistake. Well how much of a mistake can you make with tea, water and sugar. Not much. However, I have been asked to have a class and so, on the 22nd September at 2.30 here at the studio I am having a Kombucha class. It will be the usual $20 – the same cost as a yoga class, and you will get to see the process, taste my kombucha, recieve a piece of the “mother” (the scobie or mushroom which does the chemistry), a bit of the liquid, and a how-to recipe sheet. Think of the money you will save…. Always having a sparkling drop of Kombucha “champagne” to hand. When my children were little I had a constant supply, and they loved it. Natures pro-biotic.

Later on, depending on interest, we will then venture into the land of yoghurt making as our next class. Different ways, different recipes, and a tasting. Yet another way to save money and eat better.

Yoga is not enough. We need to know THE YOGA OF FOOD – THE YOGA OF LIFE

YOGA AT THE STUDIO and the Church

Classes at the Church are getting bigger and better. Every week the hall looks better and better as small improvements are made. We now have a roll out bin for the mats and blocks and blankets….

As usual lunch is provided to the community (not just us) by the Church. Don’t forget the we are running a FOOD BANK. So if you are finding the weekly food bill problematic, do come and add some free groceries to your shop – don’t be embarrassed. The food needs to be used. You would be surprised what there is in the store. Even kit-kats. More and more members of the community are turning up for the lunch, as you would! It is all hand made and beautiful. Home-made pumpkin soup, veg soup, cakes of all kinds, warm fresh breads, bagels, fruit platter… . The Hare Krishna group would call it Prasadam. It is such a loving space.

When lunch is over we do a 45 minute meditation in the church. It is gorgeous to meditate in this sacred space, please join us.

One of our newest students said as she left “that was fantastic – I just didn’t realise how much was made available for us, and so close by… I will be here every week”. We have lots of space for lots more students, and I have the Friday 3pm class in the Church as well. If you can come, you will love it. And just the right price too – by donation!   Experience not necessary.

….are filling up. Please, if you say you are coming, come. If you can’t, then please let me know. My home Studio is not huge, and I want to take as many as I can, but I can’t hold your place if you only come occasionally. If you have told me you are coming to a specific class then I hold the place for you – it could mean I turn someone away which is unfortunate if you don’t come. Of course, if you want a private class to suit your very own special timetable, I can do that, but the cost of a one-on-one is $85.

I love teaching, and creative exploration (in any field, not just art) is a lifelong voyage of discovery where the journey itself is the goal. My sessions are designed to help you discover art making as a great nourisher of the human psyche, and to experience first-hand the potential in art for transformation, healing and insight.

Experience the joy of painting and drawing by learning to trust your intuitive self. Painting this natural, gentle way allows you to let go of the inner critic that keeps you away from your full aliveness and creativity.     All you need is the desire to paint, and the courage to express yourself. No art experience necessary.

TUESDAYS from7pm- 9pm

COST $250 for 5 classes – we are taking September bookings.

All materials will be provided.  By the end of the class you will have a unique image to take home, and frame to put in your own meditation room. Maybe good enough, stunning enough to be an heirloom. No painting experience needed. If you are nimble enough to sign your own name, you can do these classes.

FRIDAYS at 6.30 to 8.30 “Ladies Painting Nite” $30 per session.

This can be a Sumii class for those who are interested, or a general class for those who are looking for acrylic pastel or pencil art.

This is the traditional painting on rice paper, but once the fundamentals are achieved, with a twist. On the longer classes, we will be doing it the “zen way” and painting things that can’t be painted. Love, joy, yoga, spirit, speed…etc etc.   No right, no wrong, just what you can do. Your expression. We will be using traditional materials, we will be doing yoga breathing, AND A PAINTING will be the result.. Grind the ink, use the brush, paint the painting….. Sounds easy, BUT as in yoga, the foundations are everything.

Saturday 6th October at 4pm.  (just around the corner from Aldi in Gap Road. A fabulous store which deserves a visit.

I am doing an in-store demonstration of the techniques I use for Mandala/Buddha painting on wood. I will show you how to prepare the boards, the materials I use and how to use them. Just turn up. No need to book – although you could mention it when you drop in for a visit. Beautiful linen, beautiful framing, French Sennelier pastels, Golden paint range – They stock only THE BEST.

SHOWING NOW:  An exhibition and sale of the original tarot cards. This cannot be repeated. If you are unable to come to the show, and would like to buy a framed card, you can, just let me know which is your favourite card and I will put it away for you – all $175 plus postage. You can come and collect it, or I can post it – although they are framed, so not inexpensive to post. Call me to register your interest:

If you would like to donate ….. please direct debit any amount to The GitaJaia Yoga Foundation, Commonwealth Bank in Woodend. 063806 10200584. Any amount will help, no matter how small.

Please… if you want a session, WE CAN DO. We have been having terrific PENDULUM Classes at the studio. We can identify additional minerals and supplements, balance your diet, test for food sensitivities…. Health, business whatever. $55 one question, $75 two questions $150 for a general life reading for people who are stuck. On the farm I never made a change without dowsing first. If you want to see if it makes a difference go see what the farm has become without the magic of dowsing – it is a dying jungle.

If you want a life reading, your house made well from underground streams or geopathic stress, or want your garden explored for sculpture, rock or major tree placement sites… I can help you.

If you want a lovely pendulum I have made a few very interesting, unique pendulums and have put them on etsy.

It is about LINEAGE. You trained with us, you are a part of our lineage (or we are a part of yours), Registration supports this. PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION. You need to be currently registered for your insurance to be valid, and you will need to supply a copy of a valid registration to be insured.   Please check your insurance requirements – keep up to date. They change quickly.

We have fallen in line with other organisations and ask people who are registered with us and wish to re-register to do at least one short course in the year as a continuing education requirement. You need to keep up. You can do one of my little courses on ETSY, or someone else’s, doesn’t have to be onerous, just something to keep you on your academic toes so to speak. Just watching a DVD won’t be enough unless you actually write a report on what you watched and why you watched it – the outcome – how it changed how you do what you do.

PARKING HOME STUDIO – 37 Morris Road, Woodend.

PLEASE, PLEASE Park on white gravel in front of the studio. I had the garden made into an attractive parking lot. When it was lawn you didn’t even think about parking on the lawn or the nature strip. Now it is especially for parking, you park blocks away and walk. What is this about? If my park places are full, you can park in the drive-way directly opposite in front of double grey garage rolladoors. Not in front of neighbours driveways please.

The next one will be on Sunday 7th October, 2pm to 4pm  at my home studio (37 Morris Road in Woodend). There is no need to book. Bring writing materials, and be early. If you are teacher Training student then the cost of the afternoon is $20 (to bring it in line with yoga classes). This fee applies to everyone. If you are a visitor and not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $30 – for a 2 hour class! Come.

BENDIGO Teacher Training classes – Next class is Tuesday 9th October at 3.30pm Turn at the Metricon building on the highway in Kangaroo Flat. It is a traffic light intersection, just up from Bunnings. Crusoeden is the building behind Metricon building, and faces Church Street. It’s easy to find. Cost: $20 per class (to bring it in line with the cost of a yoga class) for everyone who attends – thank you. (Directors – Jayne Boyle  –  Regular classes held – please email for timetable.

I write books to help you in your course. Please download them, and then please use them in answering your modules. Please never imagine that I don’t read your modules – I do. If you misquote, I will pick it up. What will you find on ETSY? YAMAS, CHAKRAS, HYPERMOBILITY, THE FIVE TIBETANS AND TEMPLATES and more. There are lots of books there to help you in your progress to graduation. If you do your course WITHOUT reading the hypermobility books, you will find your work being questioned.

TAROT/TAROT POUCHES/PENDULUMS…. They are on-line. It’s like a shop. For the best pieces, and the best deals, you need to go in every now and then and see what stock has arrived. Often only one of things.

EMAIL/POST:  Please use the email address  for anything to do with accounts,  or the usual to get to me. If you do want to speak to me personally, then email, make a time suitable for both of us, and then we can chat.  If you do it this way, rather than just “wing it”, you can be reasonably sure I have time, and you will get my attention.  POSTAL ADDRESS is not at my home –Please address all land mail to PO Box 14, Mt.Macedon.  Vic. 3441.  Until you see a change written here in large letters, that is where it will be.

Don’t forget to Register if you are teaching even if you have not graduated (especially if you have not graduated), insure and re-subscribe to the videos every 12 months.   Don’t leave these to the last minute.

Love and Blessings
