THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

It is that time of the year. NO, NOT CHRISTMAS – BERRIES! At this time of the year, the effort for the past year “bears fruit”. I harvest enough berries to last for the whole of the following year (2018). As a matter of fact this year I still have berries in the freezer from last year as I take masses of fruit of my bushes. I learn something new from my garden every year. Forget about horticulture experts – listen to the Garden Devas. You should see the garden. Look to the left above and you will see the Gooseberries Marion berries? I get about 1.5 kilos per day during their short season – but it is enough. Apples, Rhubarb, Raspberries, Blackcurrants etc etc… Thanks to the garden Devas. I bless you as you bless me. Advice to gardeners – take time out to talk to and work with the Devas. By the way. My garden is just a suburban block! You can do it too. I am amazed with the (City) people who have bought older houses around me. First thing. They level everything. Take out old paths, old gardens, old rockeries, and just make the plot level. Then they buy garden beds (paint fences and boxes grey, of course), and struggle to get things to grow. They will learn, but not until they have spent heaps. – and eventually employ a gardener.
CHRISTMAS

Our Teacher Training does not take time off. Don’t take time off your yoga. Use the time wisely to magnify your yoga progress. AND, AND, AND – Don’t forget to pay your monthly fees. Just because it is Christmas doesn’t mean that WE DON’T ALL have bills to pay. Me too.

DNA/TCELLS/BLISS

More on the way. With time off (!!##) I am hoping to write more for you. Thank you for all those students who have downloaded my booklet and DVD about the Cerebro Spinal Connections. This is only the beginning of the story – but most essential. You have to start somewhere, and the beginning is a good place. Please, teachers, catch up by getting these books, reading them and reflecting on your practice. www.myyogabooks.etsy.com. THEY ARE JUST THE BEGINNING. Come to Teacher Training when you can.

Teacher Training? Just in case you haven’t seen any reference to it – and someone said I never write about it in the newsletters – obviously a person used to the computer ‘grabs’ of information. You have to read this newsletter! ….. 1st Sunday in the month between 2 and 4, every Wednesday at 12.30 and philosophy on Saturday morning at 11.30.   AFFILIATES and those who would like to be. EVEN IN TEXAS Teachers! Please give this some thought. If you would like to Affiliate and start teaching teachers (you need to have graduated), then please email me and we will arrange a visit – or a chat depending on where you are of course. If you have a studio, it’s your next step. New Affiliates: The Community Health Initiative in Northcote.
EMAIL:

Please use the email address yogafirst@optusnet.com.au for anything to do with accounts, or the usual yogafirst2@bigpond.com. To get to me. If you do want to speak to me personally, then email, make a time suitable for both of us, and then we can chat. If you do it this way, rather than just “wing it”, you can be reasonably sure I have time, and you will get my attention. POSTAL ADDRESS is not at my home – small mail box out in the open means that rain is an issue. Please address all land mail to the address it has always been – PO Box 14, Mt.Macedon. Vic. 3441. Until you see a change written here in large letters, that is where it will be.

PLEASE COLLECT YOUR MAIL PROMPTLY….

Please make sure you visit you local Post Office with your COLLECTION SLIP in hand if you are waiting for items from us. Items waiting for collection are sent back to us. This incurs double postage – nothing you will want to do with today’s postal charges.

HYPERMOBILITY AGAIN.   The book and the DVD are available via ETSYwww.myyogabooks.etsy.com
The more that I do in this field, and the more that I think about it, the more relevant it becomes to all of you. IT IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY – the course. Every teacher should read this. INSURANCE
INSURANCE ALTERNATIVES. We are no longer closely involved with our teachers with regards to insurance…. AJGallagher seems to be the only one who will insure students who have not graduated but are teaching – although I must say they are increasingly difficult to deal with. However, we have made an alliance with Dancesurance which appear to insure students (trainees not yet graduated) cheaply, and, if you have a studio, they are really the only ones who insure this with understanding. If you are a student MAKE YOUR STATUS CLEAR, if you don’t, and need to make a claim, you may discover (too late) that you are not covered.

RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY INSURANCE: Dancesurance and AJGallaghers have both come through with a specialist insurance for our Restorative Yoga Therapy graduates. They can add this special insurance on to their ordinary insurance AT NO EXTRA COST. They have examined the course, they have looked at the caliber of the students going through, and made their decision. All you need to do is to supply a copy of your registration when you apply. Dancesurance – www.DanceSurance.com
Arthur J Gallagher – www.ajg.com.au

Why Register with THE AUSTRALASIAN YOGA INSTITUTE?

PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION. You need to be currently registered for your insurance to be valid, and you will need to supply a copy of a valid registration to be insured. Please check your insurance requirements – keep up to date. They change quickly.

REGISTRATION – CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

We have fallen in line with other organisations and ask people who are registered with us and wish to re-register to do at least one short course in the year as a continuing education requirement. I have been shocked by what teachers THINK they know, and teach. You need to keep up. You can do one of my little courses on ETSY, or someone else’s, doesn’t have to be onerous, just something to keep you on your academic toes so to speak.

RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY – POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA

Those people who have attended all workshops, completed the exams satisfactorily and graduated from all parts of level 3 (prior to October 2017), and come to the Sunday Teacher Trainings, will be deemed to have completed the Graduate Diploma in Restorative Yoga Therapy (and more). It is a big course, and at the end you will have almost done a Doctorate yourselves. You certainly will see yoga and teach it in a totally different way to any other teacher. I call it “QUANTUM YOGA” (“Quantum” meaning multidimensional, not as it is often portrayed in yoga as dynamic sequencing).

VISITS TO YOUR STUDIO.

If you would like me to visit your studio in the next year, please email me and let me know when you would like a visit and we can work out HOW it can be achieved. The further away you are, then the larger the travel costs will be of course. But the information we are working with is so important for the future of yoga and healing, that it will seem a very small investment (even if you are in the UK or the USA – or anywhere else on the planet). Please email me in the first instance at yogafirst2@bigpond.com. I can teach, lecture, and of course do the occasional PAST LIFE PROCESS. But I need some time for this of course – 3 hours per person!

CLASS TIMES

We will be closing on Saturday the 23rd of December, and will reopen with our first class at 10am on Saturday morning the 6th of January.

THE STUDIO – 37 Morris Road.

Tuesdays: 10 am Restorative.

Wednesdays12.30 I am making this a teacher training day. If you are a teacher, come. It may be easier for you than the monthly Sunday. Come to both!

Saturday: Philosophy 11.30 am, Restorative 12.30 pm. THE BENTINCK – on the corner of High Street and Romsey Road, Woodend.
Enter ONLY through the Romsey Road gate where you see the yoga sign. Do not park in the front of the Bentinck. The main two story building is not The Yoga Centre.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: Hatha Yoga 6.30 pm

Wednesday: 5.30 pm Restorative, 6.30 pm Hatha Yoga

Friday: 6:30 pm Progressive Yoga Relaxation Class. I will also be using this time to speak about something not many teachers will discuss – life and death. We can meditate and chant. This is up to you.

Saturday: 10 AM Hatha Yoga CLASS/CONSULT PRICE STRUCTURE (from 7th January) I always have a problem with prices, and more so at this time of the year. If you don’t come to class, my costs still go on, and I still turn up. I try at all times to give you the best class I can give, at the most economical price. But it won’t always be these prices. As my “busyness” increases, I will have to make choices which will be dictated by where I am needed most. And if you don’t come to class, then I will let them go. I understand that there may be a class closer to you (once we were the only class), and you have to make sensible choices for you. I would ask that you check that your teacher is TRAINED, graduated, and has the appropriate qualifications to teach you.

There are no classes that are more soundly based than ours. We have been teaching for 50 years. We are the longest serving (most of the teachers in the Macedon Ranges have come through our teacher training Institute), and we believe we can help you to be the best you can be. If you don’t come to us, please make sure that your teacher is trained and qualified.

Even if you don’t come to class there still are expenses to be met. We always used to limit the length of class pass, and I am doing it again. Pay $20 per class, or book ahead for 10 CONSECUTIVE classes over 10 weeks and pay $135 for the ten. It is a saving – but only if you come to class every week.

  • TERM PASS: 10 class pass – 1 class a week for 10 CONSECUTIVE classes over 10 weeks $135 2 classes per week for 10 weeks $250
  • SINGLE CLASSES $20
  • PHILOSOPHY CLASSES 1 hour – Trainee Yoga Teacher $15 (casual $20)
  • PHILOSOPHY CLASSES 2 hours – $20
  • MONTHY PASS $175 (unlimited Hatha and Relaxation). If you come to Monday, Wednesday, Saturday morning and one meditation or teacher training, that would be $60 per week. Four weeks with that regime would be $240. So $175 is quite a saving. Especially when the average Yoga Class in other schools is $25 per class.
  • YEARLY PASS (if paid by 1st of February ) $1,550 unlimited Hatha & Relaxation

Please note that at the Bentinck, the Medical Clinic that we have all been waiting for is nearing completion, however, more work is being done on the driveways and ambulance bay. If it is full, park opposite. Walk carefully, workmen leave building materials about.

TEACHER TRAINING AT THE HOME STUDIO:

The next will be on Sunday 7th January, 2pm to 4pm at my home studio (37 Morris Road in Woodend). Please join us for Teacher Training 2pm to 4pm. There is no need to book. Bring writing materials, and be early. If you are teacher Training student then the cost of the afternoon is $15 (which applies to everyone. If you are a visitor and not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20 – for a 2 hour class! Come.

YES, there will be Teacher Training on the first Sunday in January… the 7th January.

ANYTIME STUDIO PARKING – Park your car either on the white gravel around the front of the studio, or if this is full, then there is an empty drive and front yard leading to a shed directly opposite us. Park there and in a way that others can too.

Bendigo Teacher Training classes – The first Tuesday of the month. Next class isTuesday, February 6th (I think at this point). Turn at the Metricon building on the highway in Kangaroo Flat. It is a traffic light intersection, just up from Bunnings. Crusoeden is the building behind Metricon building, and faces Church Street. It’s easy to find. Cost: $15 per class for everyone who attends – thank you.
