Dear Yogis,

Making dolls, and reading the tarot as I do,  is about inviting angels to join us, and I have this TRUE story for you this morning…  This is a short version of a report that was recorded in many publications at the time, as well as “Guideposts” and “Spiritual Guideposts and Fellowship”.  Keep in mind that this was reported first in the 1930’s.

This visitation took place in the 1930’s at spring time just after a crisp snowfall in Massachusetts.  Professor S.Harlow (who had a BA from Harvard and a Ph.D.  from  Hartford Theological  Seminary) and his wife were taking a walk in the countryside down a track they usually took. It was a beautiful morning, made more beautiful by a recent dusting of fresh snow.  Both academics at the highest level, they were not people who anticipated seeing angels, or any visitations of angelic nature or otherwise. As they walked they heard voices, and imagined that they would shortly be overtaken by company, but they could see no-one approaching from any direction.   However, the voices were getting closer at a faster pace than they were walking, but still  they saw no-one.  Then they looked up.

How could they ever describe what they saw, what they felt.  About ten feet above them was floating a group of glorious, creatures that glowed with spiritual beauty.  There were six of them, young beautiful women of various ages,  dressed in white flowing garments, and engaged in earnest conversation.  Neither the professor nor his wife could hear exactly what they were saying as they seemed to float above them, and the voices were blurred as if being heard through a closed window.  As the angels passed their voices got fainter and fainter until they faded out entirely.

The professor and his wife stood transfixed unable to comprehend what they had seen, and unwilling to break the spell..  There was a fallen birch tree beside the path, and they sat down on it to take in all that had occurred.  After a few moments the professor asked his wife what she had seen and heard, primarily to test his own eyes and ears.  Had he been a victim to some kind of hallucination or imagination?   But to his relief she confirmed the vision.  She had seen exactly the same, identical in every respect.

They both acknowledged how incredible it sounded, and claimed no more for it than it had a deep effect on their lives.

I recalled this story as I sat after meditation this morning, and felt compelled to relate it.. we anticipated snow this weekend – we shall see.  At the moment it is a glorious sunny spring-like morning, but anything could happen.  Snowfall is most beautiful here when the wattle and daffodils are flowering as they are now. Picturing them with a light dusting of snow is beautiful.  Get your cameras ready…. I am not sure you can photograph angels, but spring snowfall is very beautiful.
