Dear Yogis,
Please note that the Sunday lunch and the teacher training has shifted this month – see below in bold as I will have my grandchildren and their family to lunch etc on the last day in July usually repurposed for yoga occasions, and then the week after I have gallery duty on the Sunday.
IN THE STUDIO: For the last month I have been swamped with alterations of the major kind. People who are leaving Woodend for warmer climes, and on trying on their favourite clothing items have found that they have “shrunk”. It is my job to do the best I can to make the clothes and the body match up. They won’t or can’t change the body, so it is my job to change the clothes – it is not always an easy job.
Last week the Wildlife op shop gave me a big bag of broken jewellery – this allowed me to fix up vintage items I have been storing for myself but could not find the correct jewels to enable me to do this. It is always “Re-Make” around here. I can’t bear to trash things, and those bits and bobs that are left I give to the local schools, so that they can sew them to their end of year concert costumes, or make wands! Its a win-win.
I also have completed a pet portrait for a client, and am working on a miniature for an exhibition. Housekeeping has taken a back seat I am afraid – but as I tell my students, housekeeping will always be there waiting for you – no hurry. Ditto the leaves in the garden.
