What was I doing this week? LOTS.
I am a member of YOGA AUSTRALIA, and am in discussions to become a Community Representative – I am not sure what this means, but YA is become much more outward looking, rather than the usual inward gazing, and I am happy to join the community group if it will add an injection of enthusiasm to the function of Yoga as a lifestyle not a fitness regime. We shall see.

BOTANICAL ART CLASSES. (LOOK ON ‘WORKSHOPS” IN THE MENU) At Dromkeen, at Maxine McKee’s Gallery in Kyneton (Trio Road Gallery), and of course in my studio. The first class is on Saturday 28th February, and then two more 7th and 21st March, all 2 hours from 10.30 – please bring a lunch to share.
You will learn fineline pen drawing, choosing papers and preparing tea bags, botanical subjects, collecting, pressing, grounds, painting in watercolour…. The class does not include drawing materials: you will need fineline pens, a watercolour A5 sketch pad, and your favourite fine brushes. I will provide the garden, the subjects, a flower press, watercolour paints. How much? $49 per class. www.jhopewilliams.online.
I know there is a lot of depression around at the moment about both yoga and art. Some studio managers are doing it tough as are some artists, but that is how yoga is and art is from time to time. Over the weekend I visited Maxine McKee at her fabulous TRIO ROAD GALLERY in Trio Road, Kyneton. When you come off the freeway to Kyneton you turn right onto Trio Road instead of left past the Toyota dealer at the entrance to Kyneton. She has a small holding on about 5 acres with a homestead and her purpose built gallery, workshop and gardens. They are fabulous. I spent much more time there than I had planned on and am going back to deliver a workshop and make some special dolls for the Daffodil Festival. Google them to get the open days and times.
On Sunday I went to Dromkeen. A surprising Gallery and Tea Shop in Riddells Creek. Bernadette is an amazing gallery owner here and runs workshops, literary luncheons, has a rather large gallery, and she stocks and always sells my works. If you want to visit and do a workshop here you can during the Macedon Ranges AutumnFestival. The program will be the same as it is in my studio (and for the same price) . There is a lot to learn. Just because tea bags are very small, doesn’t mean that they are easy to manage. There is a lot to know, otherwise the tea bags will deteriorate as they hang in their frames and you (or your clients) will be disappointed.
