DEAR YOGIS,

Now is the Time for Transformation Our Yoga teacher Training is about so much more than just teaching Yoga. Over many years, we have helped hundreds of people move into their communities as yoga teachers…  Achieving their biggest dreams and goals. But at its core, this work is about transformation.  You are like snowflakes – everyone of you is different with different needs, different ways of teaching.

When someone becomes a YOGA TEACHER, they’re not just gaining a skill—they’re learning to trust themselves, and step into their personal power.  I am sure you have learned that the world needs people who are deeply connected to themselves. and are working to serve heir community.  People who teach from a place of alignment and authenticity,.  They know more than just jumping up and down in lycra.  And that’s the kind of transformation I have always been committed to since I brought you all together and continued to teach.

THIS IS YOUR INVITATION TO BEGIN AGAIN. So here we are. It’s late January, and  no matter what the calendar says, the new year begins when we say it does (whenever that is) For me, that moment is right now, and  this year, the Lunar New Year on January 29th (and the fabulous alignment of planets  on the 25th – tomorrow) feels like the perfect time to pause, reflect, and step into the energy of 2025 with intention.

There is a lot going on this month and beyond….

  1. There is our usual YOGA LUCH tomorrow.  A chance for the Sangha to meet in a social way. Join us!
  2. Teacher Training on Sunday afternoon here at the studio
  3. Our Monday night zoom Philosophy sessions
  4. Next month I am visiting the Benalla/Shepparton area to introduce Disability and Yoga (“Mindful Movement or Innovative Community Participation” as the NDIS prefers to recognise it).
  5. To come – Zoom introductions to our students and graduates who are breaking new ground, teaching yoga in ways you may never have considered.

Together, we’ll explore the energies of the year ahead, align with our inner light, and set powerful intentions for our year ahead. You are not alone teaching in the wilderness (unless that is how you like it).  Join hands with us, connect.  All you have to do is email me, chat, or join in one of our activities to meet other yoga teachers just like you – no matter what stage you are at or what training you have done since being with us.  We gave you the possibility to move forward.

Let’s make this the year we step into something extraordinary, together.

Pssst! If you’re wondering why you’re hearing from us, it’s because you at one time signed up for a course with us, or joined us because you found us a helpful resource, a special tool, or provided insights to guide your journey.

At The Australasian Yoga Institute,  we believe in helping you connect with Yoga teaching in a way that feels inspiring and empowering. Whether you signed up for one of our resources, zoom with us, register with us, or  get our weekly Newsletters we’re so glad you’re here.

Thank you for your support since 1976….

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

We have been having wonderful revelations on our zoom meet up – and a fabulous suggestion by one of our valued students is this – why don’t we have a monthly get together where we ask a trainee yoga teacher or graduated yoga teacher from our school to share words of wisdom and how they are using  yoga in their community.  I would love to invite you do this.  If you would like to be featured, please let me know.  Email me.  yogafirst2@bigpond.com

You are also invited to the first of our yoga lunches this year – out first is THIS Saturday at The Lone Wolf Saloon in Woodend at noon.  Once again – email me.

Dear Yogis,

Well, Christmas/New year is over, and my birthday is (beautifully) over.  The most surprising gift I got (and I discourage gifts on the basis I need for nothing, and am decluttering) was a thing that looks like an astronaut toy that projects stars and nebula on the ceiling.  Totally, totally useless but lovely.

I finished some more little pendants (they are on ETSY), and will soon start wearing and selling them – they are keeping me away from finishing two BIG works I must get done by March for an exhibition.  I have to wait until my heart is in “the right place” or the images will be “RS”.

The ART MATERIALS CLASS has only ONE place left.  So if you planned to come, you will have to decide quickly – Sunday 9th February, 2pm,  cost $65.  If you are struggling to be a better artist and getting no-where it could be because you are trying to do things with your materials they were never meant to do, or using the wrong materials, and of course learning patience – the painting to the left is a terrific example of this.
