Dear Yogis,

Easter is DONE.  Now you have Mother’s Day, then… Day, then …Day.  It is never ending for people who like holidays more than they like where they are.   My definition of suffering is the gap that exists between the world you have and the world you want.   Where are you in this?

As Rumi said  “…The lamps are different, the light is the same…”

I do know that since Covid fewer are going back to yoga on the basis that they have no time, and more people are coming down with pretty serious illnesses because of the anxieties and depressions of the past 12 months. They are relaxing everything,  believing that all is “normal”.  It isn’t, it cannot be.   Cleaning the venetians, or the windows to make them “covid perfect” isn’t going to help your state of mind, or state of health, although it might fill the day with “doings” rather than “feelings”.  It is time to take stock and see what  the balance between your physical, emotional and spiritual life is like, and get back to what is important now that we can create what is a NEW NORMAL.  You said you wanted classes, teacher training,  you wanted Studio, you wanted zoom – you have it.

During Covid, those students who had lagged behind got a new lease on life and surged forward – that has ended.  Mostly they have gone back to the old ways.  During Covid students registered and prepared for their classes, came to zoom a number of times a week, complained because there were no Studio classes,  in the main, this too has ended.  The pressure cooker lid is off, and many trainee yoga teachers, yoga students, and student teachers have gone back to the I CAN’TS.  You can.  If you don’t work towards your future, there won’t be one.  I know it is hard.  You may have to take a few new paths to find the one for you… it is time to be inspired, and inspire your students back into class.

Plant those little seeds because soon you will find that those little seeds aren’t LITTLE SEEDS any more.  If you don’t plant, you can’t harvest.

One of those little seeds maybe coming to the BEE LOVERS CLASS where you will learn how to nurture a hive and the bees in your backyard.  It could be zooming a tarot session to find where you are and where you are going – your lesson, your resources, your challenge.  You might benefit from the FREE TEACHER TRAINING CLASS on Mondays at 6.30, or GITA on Sunday morning.  There is lots you can do.

I AM STILL HERE – I WILL SEE YOU ON THE MAT

NAMASTE, JAHNE

MEDITATION AND BEEKEEPING

I have been waiting to be sure my garden is in good shape and stable and my wasps are under control.  I can now add the hive I have been waiting for.  You will remember that a swarm of wasps killed everything in my hive a couple of winters ago.

I was wondering if you would like to join me in this adventure as I build my hive(s) back up?  You don’t need a hive at your place, just being interested in learning more in case in the future you perhaps might get your own hive.  You would enjoy the classes and gets lots out of them.  I am also going to paint some BEE MINIATURES.. yes, on tea-bags.

I have spoken to my beekeeper and he has agreed to host a fortnightly class in our studio here where we can not only prepare the ground for the hive  in my yard, but in the process learn all about bees and their lifestyle, habits as well as their care.  Then learn how to deal with the various products as they are produced.  The honey the wax, etc. Even BEE MEDITATION –  I think it will be a fabulous journey.  Very Shamanic.

John Crutchfield my beekeeper (and our teacher for these classes) has been an apiarist for many years and one time travelled Victoria with more than 100 hives.  He still has hives in far flung places and puts the hives together himself.

Please email me and let me know, and we will organise a fortnightly class.  There is a lot to know. We could even explore recipes, crafts and cooking associated with honey.  Email me at yogafirst2@bigpond.com

“….in order to awaken young people’s consciousness to the importance of basic human values, it is better not to present society’s problems purely as an ethical matter or a religious matter.  It is important to emphasise that what is at stake is our continued survival”  (from ‘The Essential Dalai Lama – His Important Teachings”)

I WILL SEE YOU ON THE MAT.

NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

What amazingly wonderful weather we are having here for Easter.  Camelot -although it hasn’t been raining at night we have had fogs and frost, so it has been moist.

Something to keep in mind which we will be speaking about tomorrow afternoon in Teacher Training is NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO YOU WHICH WILL BE WASTED.  I am especially reminded of the Greek word Paradidomi – “To be handed over for safe keeping”.  All will be revealed in our study (which will be wide and deep).

STUDIO TEACHER TRAINING – TOMORROW, Sunday the 4th APRIL. 2pm to 4pm (there is no 10am zoom  training tomorrow although it will resume next week). This is our first Studio Teacher training since Covid, and I am looking forward to it.  The garden is looking wonderful especially for you guys (Easier now I have my battery operated garden gadgets).  PLEASE JOIN US.

I HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THE MAT
