Dear Yogis,

ZOOM
TODAY (WEDNESDAY):
12.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA  5.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA   6.45 MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

POST GRAD CERTIFICATES:  Congratulations to all those who are marching forward with their qualifications.  I salute you.  We can never study enough.  I have been inspired enough to reinstate our “YIN FOR KIDS” (YOGA FOR CHILDREN) Distance Education program.  When we get through covid and isolation, children will need to be supported and guess what, yoga is the perfect refuge.

REGISTRATION:  Check your registration.  If you are nearly ready to re-register (or register for the 1st time) I will pop one of our beautiful tiny PENDULUM BOARDS with your certificates as a freebie.  They are beautiful, and can travel anywhere with you.  Make sure you are Insured at the right level.  If you haven’t finished your course, the “QUALIFIED YOGA TEACHER INSURANCE” doesn’t mean you!

SUTRAS
This was a hard class.  There are few parts of yoga which are more challenging than studying sutra.  Western thought is all about logic and linear.  Indian thought is circular and full of paradox which resolve over time, and because of this we don’t start with Sutra 1 and work through to 195.  We work with concepts and consider sutras along side the concepts.

Having said that it is hard, nothing is more rewarding.  There are so many “light bulb” moments when we are discussing Sutras in a group, learning in a group.  How can we really say we know yoga, study yoga if we don’t know the sutras?  A trained “quickie” yoga teacher training graduate told me she had studied yoga philosophy – the whole lot – in “at least an afternoon!”  IMPOSSIBLE.

One thing that we have learned is that although Michael Roach’s “Essential Sutras” are easy to understand, the magic, the poetry is missing, (very much “meat and 3 veg” – basic) and some of his words he has borrowed from Iyengar.   We haven’t yet discovered a beautiful replacement and the Theosophical library is closed to us, so we will use Essential Sutras for the time being, and add the magic ourselves.

This is an ongoing study.  Although you have missed the first lesson, do join in for the rest.  We will be working through for however long it takes, and loving the journey.  It is all about SELF KNOWLEDGE.

LIVING THE LIFE
Going forward (and referring to the Sutras) we have to consider some key ideas…
1. What we want from life and why?
2. What are we being called to do – what is our HEART telling us?
3. Have we considered our INTERNAL WORLD – our Heart-Mind? (which is why we study the Sutras).

The most important aspect of ourselves we can explore right now is ORIGINAL AUTHENTICITY
In our world at the moment, THE GREAT PAUSE, the “Home Confinement” with the computer, here are some things to think about.

1. Be mindful of your sources of information and don’t react to everything you see on the screen.  Go for clarity, and spend some time every day reading an uplifting, spiritual text, doing a yoga practice no matter how small, breathe consciously, and sitting in the stillness.
2. Develop a mental “tuning fork” and tune in to what is uplifting and delete what is not.
3. Keep your vibrations high.  There are times we could consider a fast from TV, Media, friends, family, food (not all at once!). A stillness practice is worthwhile – stay in enlightened humility and then watch the synchronistic events multiply in your life.
4. You have a responsibility to care for and guard your JOY.  Go to where the LOVE is then PLAY – hang out where you feel joy. There is no need to push.
5. Embrace your creativity, treat yourself better, honour people who support you.

Be happy to sit in uncertainty.  You can’t know about tomorrow – you can’ even know about this afternoon really.  You only have RIGHT THIS MINUTE.  Be aware you have been created for something wonderful, something bigger.  Don’t just sit in “the small”.  If you want a bigger world stop hiding in small.

In the movie which is your life (you are the producer, the director the actor…) is it a horror movie, or a love story? Are you willing to stand in your own power and collaborate with each other?

Keep looking in the mirror.  Instead of pointing the finger outwards – “It’s their fault”,  “They don’t understand”, “It’s not up to me”, LET’S START RIGHT HERE WITH US, LET’S START WITH ME.

NAMASTE.  JAHNE

WEDNESDAY:  12.30 RESTORATIVE  5.30 RESTORATIVE and 6.45 MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

On a personal note… I am working through,  and almost finished a number of projects.  I usually have four books on the go at once (THE GNOSTIC GOSPELS, JESUS THE MAN, DAMASCUS, and a magazine on writing from NEW ORLEANS), in the same way I usually have more than one project happening.  I am almost finished my ADVANCED HOMEOPATHY CERTIFICATE – BACH FLOWER REMEDIES, (I just have the case studies to do), The MINDFULNESS PROJECT, the current REVELATION PENDULUM BOARD, and catching up with a SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT I promised. Oh, and getting three Pendulum boards printed (not as easy as it sounds).

CONSULTATIONS:  Zoom Bach Flower remedies – $35 per session (plus $5 postage) and at the moment I will post your remedy to you.  Tarot, Pendulum etc $85 per session (about an hour) Email me for a chat, and we will make a zoom, email or phone call time. Email: yogafirst2@bigpond.com.

BACH FLOWERS: The flowers are wonderful at the moment and I will be out there collecting to make remedies – maybe you are doing the same.  Gorse, broom, wisteria, oak, ash…(the pic to the right is my verandah).

My hero is the Late Mr.Von Moger.  He died many years ago but I will never forget him.  He didn’t have consult times, people just arrived and mostly the queue snaked out of his front gate.  He only took a few minutes per client (really) – often didn’t even speak,  and the remedies were perfection – he didn’t ask what was needed, he just knew..  $20 per person was what he charged.  This to me is what service is all about. At the moment I can’t open my door like he did, but you can email and zoom me.  Keep note that for $35 you will not get a long “counselling style” consult, and I will post your remedies.

THE OTHER SIDE.

Because I am working every day with my pendulum and boards in order to make new boards, “the other side” is always close by, and I am constantly chatting with my family and friends who have passed.

There have been a number of deaths in our community this year, thankfully those who have (recently) gone before have been there to be the “ushers” for the new arrivals.  One whom I worked with before his death and after,  helped me to understand more of what happens.  I know he had difficulty transitioning but we have to realise that time there,  and time here is quite different. And whilst I may think that transitioning took quite a long time,  it was no time at all for him.

I used to grieve when people died, but I don’t any more.  I feel like cheering at funerals – more often than not, a difficult time has come to an end.  Listen up people – please, there is no need to visit the grave! The person you are going to visit is probably in the car, and rides back home with you.  It would be better to light a candle, put the flowers you were taking to the grave in a vase, and speak to the person who is probably right there with you. If you have regrets, they don’t, they know everything.  Just talk about how you feel as if they were in the room and sitting next to you.  Guess what, they are! They know everything, but it will make you feel better perhaps.  Please, don’t go into debt or feel that you should get a big, fantastic headstone.   If you want to do that, realise it is for you, and not for them.  However, it is totally OK if you want to do that.

Oh yes, pets.  Every pet you have ever had in any life – past or present – is waiting to totally love you to bits on the other side.  When you pass, guides and family always have a hard time making their way through the throng of pets to get to you.

You may feel lonely, but you are never alone.  Everyday you can feel the love and support from the other side if you would just sit still long enough for your loved ones to come through to you.  All you have to do is to recognise this connection when you see it, feel it or hear it.. that’s it.

WHILE  I AM STILL ON THIS SIDE – PLEASE COME TO CLASS (ZOOM).
NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

ZOOM
MONDAY: 1pm RESTORATIVE.
TUESDAY: 7.30 to 9pm THE SUTRAS (The beginning of a journey).

CONSULTATIONS:  Be aware that I am available for health/personal/business consults on zoom or email.  Or private yoga philosophy or yoga sessions.  Please email me to chat or book yogafirst2@bigpond.com:  $85 for a session which is about an hour.

PENDULUM: NEW CHARTS, NEW COURSES ON THE WAY.  What if you approached PENDULUM WORK and used this and your tarot as a DIVINE VOICE that can direct you to a life of MIRACULOUS outcomes.  It is a very powerful question and inspired me and my students/diviners all over the world to contemplate the Divine whilst working with THE REVELATION TAROT and their pendulums and boards.  Their results have been astounding.  JOIN US.

SUNDAY TEACHER TRAINING: Sunday 10am We opened the session with words from The Gospel According to Mary Magdalen.  The students were amazed how close these words are to the Bhagavadgita, Vedic Teachings and yoga.  The Chakras, The Yamas, Illusion, Impermanence – all there. Why did you miss it?  Next week we will probably look at The Gita via the Upanishads.  But who knows?  Be there.

THE SUTRAS: Tuesdays 7.30 to 9pm.  Only one day left before we start our journey into the Sutras.  One of the students asked me am I going to do more than one per session.  Answer – there are 195 Sutras, we are not doing 195 Tuesdays.  I will try and cover all the concepts, and delve into the sutras that are more simple philosophically (none of them are simplistic – but some may be more simple than others), and appear to be more accessible and practical.

To book to either of these.  Email me to let me know you are coming (so I can send you the ZOOM ID), go to the HOME page of the web site www.yogabeautiful.com.au look on the list and decide which classes you want to come to.  To pay, click on DONATE or PAY VIA PAYPAL

MOVIES

I don’t often speak about movies, but I totally enjoy really good, deep movies – although when I feel like a romp,  I appreciate Cher and Bob Hoskins in MERMAID or Cher and Christina Aguillera in BURLESQUE…

What prompted this is two movies.  THE WHITE CROW (Foxtel 401 or +421 on demand,  or YOU TUBE) which is the story of Rudolph Nureyev (Google him if you don’t recall the name!)  and his defection to the West,  directed and starring Ralph Fiennes.  This is an amazing movie with quite a lot of ballet. Ralph plays an amazing part of Pushkin the Ballet master.  He is still, controlled but underneath you can sense the perfection of thought, and understanding of the body melded with spirit.  A man who does without doing – very Zen.

This is a move that moves from artistic introspection to stunning ballet, and  then to the tense situation which actually occurred as Nureyev defected and the Russians tried to stop the process. This film helps us to understand how helpless one can feel when being threatened by a Government with great power, Russia at that time, and China today.. How when faced with this negative power (I was going to say evil) you have to cut family ties, and not even think of what may happen to them,  believing they would want what is best for you no matter the cost.  Having good friends in high places is always useful – and when it counted Rudi did.

The second movie is LARS AND THE REAL GIRL.  (I emailed those students I thought might be interested – Foxtel 409 on demand or YOUTUBE).  This movie is worth recording.  Lars is a young man (probably on the spectrum), who finds it impossible to make female friends but longs to.  He lives in a very small community in the Arctic (or that’s how it seems, lots of snow, very cold).  To solve this girl problem he purchases a full size sex type doll and pretends she is real, not just in private but as he lives and works in the town. He takes her to dinner parties, to the doctor when “she isn’t feeling well” and pushes her around to the supermarket in a wheel chair. The townspeople love Lars and respond to this dilemma by playing along, and allowing him to resolve his problem in a very loving way.  There is a beautiful resolution which I won’t retell because it will spoil the movie.

EVERYONE, go to the Home Page www.yogabeautiful.com.au to discover what is happening this week.  I will put out a newsletter when I can.. it may not be every day.  Anyone who thinks I have more hours in the day than they do (as Dianna Vreeland said) “is insane”. HOWEVER,  I use what free time I do have, to be with you…..

NAMASTE – JAHNE
