Dear Yogis,
Over Easter I followed the traditional Church services. I knew that the Catholic services would be packed out, so I went to the Anglican Church (of course!). On Saturday at the 6pm vigil there were only 9 people in the pews. It was perfect, it was beautiful and until we got to the point where the lights could be switched on, the service was started in candle light.
Sunday was a bit better congregation wise, but really it was like an exam. There was a big hymn book, a special spiral bound A4 hymn book, and an order of service with six unstapled pages. Even then the readings could not be accommodated on paper. It was not comfortable.
It was our Minister’s last day, next month the new minister arrives. It feels like the Church is winding down…. apart from the Norma Richardson Hall which thanks to the Art Market is carrying the day. I must say the congregations, the communities at both Churches are a big reason I go, but I love the simplicity, the order and the stability of the Catholic Church. It’s like yoga. They know where they are going.
++++This is the last week of the school hols, and from the 30th I have new classes starting based on the CHI, and tonite we will be talking about the Tibetan meditation called Tong-glen.
