What a crazy world we live in. How to make our way around it without losing ourselves. Yesterday at Church and after, the concern seemed to be not about what we could do about the world NOW, but “was there a purgatory”. I introduced the idea of Karma which was drowned in short order.. no-one, just no-one could see the link. No-one wanted to take personal responsibility. The majority felt that the problem is “over there somewhere”.
We are on “The Battleground”, believe it. Read the Gita. It’s time!
Reading James Michener’s THE SOURCE (again) gives a close up time line reflecting the motivation of the Jews and the Arabs dating back to the beginning. If you get to read it you will understand that the current USA regime is in a bigger mess than it understands. One which will not be resolved easily. They are between a rock and a hard place and the reverberations are felt around the world. Thank goodness we live in Australia. It’s the luck of the draw – my parents were given the option of relocating to Australia or California – they chose (on the basis of War experiences) Australia.
ART: AS THE FIRST “ARTIST IN RESIDENCE” I WILL BE DEMONSTRATING MY WORK AT “DROMKEEN GALLERY” IN RIDDELLS CREEK, Every Saturday and Sunday from Sunday 6th December, and then early January from 2 to 4pm each day. A different topic each weekend. Come along and paint with me. I sat with Gillian Gorrie a few weeks back and it totally changed the way that I think about watercolour (thanks Gillian). Amazing the difference an hour or so can make, even if you are just observing as I was.
PETROL OR??? – Saw a fantastic doco on LANDLINE yesterday about vegetable oil. We are exporting nearly all we produce overseas (as usual) and it is powering industry around the world – not here big-time YET. Once vegetable oil and tallow was a dirty product, now it’s liquid gold. Instead of racing to electrics, this is another option. Nothing is without cost – even your electric car will need a battery update, and I doubt that this is a clean or inexpensive. Maybe vegetable oil is a viable option – it powers King Charles cars!! We are expanding the production in Australia thank goodness. It’s something that we produce in Australia, can refine in Australia, and use in Australia. What’s not to like!
