My Yogis…..
I was so busy last week I totally got out of my time schedule with the newsletter, but am on time this morning. 
Where were you on Sunday – I waited. However, I will be back at the Gallery on Saturday between 10 and 1pm officially, I can stay later if you make an appointment to meet me there. If you are an artist and make ART IN MINIATURE (maximum 4 inchesx 4 inches is the regulation size of a miniature) I would be interested in seeing your work.
We have never had a miniaturist except me in the gallery, maybe the next could be you? Email me an example or two. Don’t forget Easter is coming – cards, gift tags, bunnies…? The two you can see here have sold.
MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY – amazingly I have been accepted into a course on “Incontinence Management”, which fits beautifully with what is happening around me. Of course it is going to be YOGA AND INCONTINENCE MANAGEMENT, and I think that is why I was selected, a “new” perspective. Last week I had a client who was facing prostate surgery – his doctor recommended exercise and prescribed a series of core stretches using 4kg weights, This to a person who was desk bound, rarely exercises and has a bad back and shoulders! I am so pleased to have the client visit me so we can do yoga.
I was guided onto this unexpected path by my local council. They are worried about the number of pads of all kinds clogging landfills and drains. Together we are organising a workshop on incontinence, and actually making the pads.
I have also been drawn into the community of people who have cancer and have been warned that incontinence will probably be one of the outcomes they will have to deal with after surgery. They are given exercises that are more suitable for weight lifters, and no training in core strength or breathing (a vital part of rehabilitation) – this is where you come in.
You can think this wont touch you – but it will, and it will touch your community. Decide now to learn with me, and I will pass on as I usually do, everything that is useful to me that I know will be useful to you. You can learn perhaps with google, but whilst you are making notes, pay attention to all the conflicting information and its source. Email me and we can chat. yogafirst2@bigpond.com
