TAKING ANOTHER STEP IN THE YOGA TEACHING DIRECTION
Whilst I have been on holidays I have been updating and re-writing the TODDLER’S YOGA INSTRUCTORS COURSE which I have called “TINY TIGERS”.  Think “Tigger” in Winnie the Pooh.  I will load it onto the yogabeautiful site, but in the meanwhile I will hold it for you on a temporary moonfruit site.  I have saved www.tinytigers.moonfruit.com  It will not be loaded until tomorrow (my day off!!) Cost:  DIPLOMA Level $475, Certificate level $265.  Payment plan available.

 

MONTHLY TEACHER TRAINING AT THE HOME STUDIO:

 DATE of the next Teacher Training:   Sunday 5thMay 2pm to 4pm  at my home studio (37 Morris Road in Woodend –There is no need to book. Bring writing materials, and be early. If you are teacher Training student then the cost of the afternoon is $20.  This fee applies to everyone. (Visitors – and/or not yet training – $30).

BENDIGO Teacher Training classes– Next class is the 4thJune at 3.30pm. Crusoeden Health.  Turn at the Metricon building on the highway in Kangaroo Flat just up from Bunnings on the same side.

SHEPPARTON MASTERCLASS.  The class at Heidi’s studio in Kialla was amazing – she was right, I couldn’t miss it.  We are considering a regular teacher training class, which would be the third Sunday in each month 2.30 to 4.30….the first one on the 19thMay. Please come on time.   Please register your interest with me or Heidi at  vanmaan@hotmail.com    It is always wonderful to get together with my students, and I think we all get something from sharing more than just how to do downdog.  The philosophy is at the basis of everything.  You can copy my classes, you can copy everything – but I am hoping that by about halfway through the course that you start to do things for yourself, your way.  Not by finding alternatives to the foundations but by building on them.

 

HYPERMOBILITY (the course)

Watch my FREE UTUBE CHANNEL.  Hypermobility, Purushatras, and so on.  There is lots there – do one video per day..  Google “Jahne Hope-Williams You Tube”.  There is everything you need to start your study.  Don’t go to google first and then give up and go to our materials. We have done the hard work for you – use it.

 

TAROT:  Also on the videos.  I am walking the viewers through the cards in my Revelation Tarot Deck. RESTORATIVE (REMEDIAL) YOGA. 

More Restorative (Remedial) classes.  Look at the web site for dates and times.  Teachers, please note.  Yin and Restorative yoga are not the same.  I am sure if you came to our classes you would see the difference at once.  Many who come to restorative could not do the long held poses of yin.  Yes we hold poses, but they are mostly moving the body in ways it wants to go, not in long, protracted stretches.  Plus, we do it mostly on the floor, and always supported by bolsters, blankets, blocks, balls and anything else needed.

MEDITATION:  You will notice from the CLASSES on the Web Site that we now have meditation by donation on Tuesdays at 11am and Sundays at 9.15.  Please come.  I will be doing yoga nidra plus healing singing bowls.

Please check your insurance requirements – keep up to date. We are moving to AON insurance.  You will be able to insure on-line BUT you will need a current registration to prove you are a member with us to get the advantages that a big firm like AON can offer.  AJG quoted $3,600 to insure our studio – AON did exactly the same insurance for $376 with no fuss, no in depth passport type questions…..  When you open your own studio, you will be interested in this.

RECIPE:

I don’t often put recipes here – but here is a good one GINGERBREAD 13THCENTURY STYLE.  Gingerbread as we know it was introduced by Queen Elizabeth1.  Sugar was becoming less expensive, and spices were freely available.  She wanted the gingerbread treat to be given as a gift to courtiers, and so had the recipe tinkered with and put in person-shaped moulds.  The result is the gingerbread we know today.  But try this recipe.

INGREDIENTS.  Half a cup of golden syrup to 1 cup breadcrumbs, *1 dessertspoon of cream and *1 dessertspoon of coconut oil and two heaped teaspoons of powdered ginger.  Warm and melt  the wet ingredients so they mix together and add the dry.  Mix until blended then put in the microwave for 2 minutes stir, and repeat until it gets sponge like bubbles on the top.  I only microwaved it twice.  Press into a small tin and leave in the fridge for about 2 or 3 days until it sets.  Then you can roll into balls, or cut into squares and eat like a lolly.  Totally different to the modern gingerbread but gorgeous.  I took it to the free lunch, and a couple of young kids there tried it.  I didn’t think they would like it but they did and asked for more – I wonder what really healthy things you could hide in it? calcium power, yeast (vitB), think about it. I don’t think you could easily hide green things in it… but I could be wrong.

You could put it in moulds but because it doesn’t have flour, it is not as “durable”.

*my additions, you can add your own – or leave them out.  You could even make it gluten free by using gluten free breadcrumbs.  What about dipping the balls of the gingerbread in chocolate, or coconut, or nuts or sesame seeds…. now there’s an idea!

 

MODULE DRAWINGS, DOWNLOADS. You will notice on the bottom of every assessment there is a reminder that drawings need to be done, and in your own hand, and downloads of any kind will not be marked.  Every page needs to have your name, module number, and page number.  When I ask for drawings, I want drawings.  I have my reason for asking for them, so please don’t do market research amongst study buddies to see if they did or didn’t.  Just take it, that unless I excuse you, I mean you to answer the questions as they appear, not as your friend or yoga teacher feels you should do.  I may not agree. I probably won’t. You can write your own modules, answer your own questions and decide how you will proceed, but I probably won’t mark it and you probably won’t graduate.  Your choice.  Life is tough.

THE YOGA CLASSES:

Classes back on track at the home studio, 37 Morris Road in Woodend.  Please go to www.yogabeautiful.com.auand click on classes. We mostly have RESTORATIVE YOGA – it is a quiet, gentle yoga which is perfect if you are infirm, have recently had surgery, or are by nature anxious or maybe depressed, or maybe you just want a gentle stretch.   Come along, join our beautiful small groups and see if this is for you.

 

MEDITATION:

Meditation sessions (Yoga Nidra) by donation are on Tuesdays at 11am and Sundays at 9.15am. All classes outside of this time are at my regular one-on-one class charge of $85.  When you have a one-on-one session it will be very much directed towards your needs… this is often not possible at a class/group session.

 

YOGA TEACHING FOR TODDLERS
