GOOD MORNING PRECIOUS ONES  Honouring the Universe – The philosophy of The Australasian Yoga Institute….   Dedicated to a tradition of excellence in teaching for more than 40 years, The Australasian Yoga Institute offers yoga teachers comprehensive and systematic training in classical yoga.  We teach yoga techniques for body, breath, mind and spirit in 200hr and 500hr certification programs.  Our programs include training in meditation, asana.

THE YAMAS –
I cannot stress these too much how important these are.
I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THEM. NOTHING WORKS, NOTHING WORKS, IF THESE ARE NOT IN PLACE IN YOUR LIFE
.
If you come to me to be registered in our organisation (and baby,  it is growing and is going to take some BIG leaps)  and you haven’t done the yamas, guess what, you will have to do a workshop and an exam…..  For me, the philosophy of yoga is the most important.  There is NOTHING more important.      We start there I have never liked the (Christian) “Thou Shalt Not” approach and am trying out a new one.

“Just for today I will not kill thoughts, hopes, aspirations,  confidence.  I will not kill.”
“Just for today I will work on telling the truth”
“Just for today I will work on not stealing”
“Just for today I will work on respecting all people and all things”
“Just for today I will work on not taking more of anything than what I need”.

(Next TT Sunday 6th December 2pm to 4pm – we might have a lesson on Karma, Bhakti and Reincarnation.  This will be followed by Restorative Yoga Class, and a healing.  Both open for you all to join in if you come to Teacher Training….)

“Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things”.

On Sunday at the Restorative Yoga introduction, we wandered off course a bit (surprise, surprise), and got into the topic of meditation.  Now here is a subject I love.  I do it every day, and I have for years.    By the way, that being said, missing it doesn’t often happen and I don’t beat myself up if I  do miss a day, BUT I do long for the chat, and can’t wait for the next opportunity to sit down and share with God!  Yep, that’s me speaking – what about you?

Here’s how I think about it.  People often say that they can meditate doing the dishes, or in the garden or running, and sure you can, but the way I meditate takes it to a different level (and it is not the only way to do it, or that I do it).  I have made a commitment to sit down with God every day.   It’s like making a commitment to sit down with a good friend every day.  I don’t just hope that they will tag along as I am weeding the garden.  I make a special effort.

The other day I had a lovely friend come and trim the ivy for me.  I had asked him would he do it, and he was so happy and enthusiastic to share my garden with me and help.  Seeing that I had invited him, and it was not such an easy job I bought a pizza (I am gluten free – it was for him), At lunch time I made a cup of tea and we sat down at a table, chatted and had a lovely meal.   If I would do that for a guy trimming the ivy, what preparations should I make for a meeting with God!  What would you do?

Well, these are the preparations I make.
1. I make a date.

2. Then I prepare the space.  For me this means that I get some little glasses and have a flower in one, food in one (a piece of bread or something), water in another etc.

3. At the appointed time I sit down and check in, say good morning and give thanks for the opportunity.  The Presence is calming and available, waiting for me to open the door..

4. First I clear the decks, review the day before.  We talk about the day, what was good, and what I could have seen clearer.  I apologise for the not very good things I did, mainly the attitudes that need changing.  I revel in the good things I did, some of these only He noticed.

5. Then I chat about whatever topic I have decided on.  I listen to the reply.  It isn’t as loud as someone standing behind me.  It is a voice in my head, that’s the closest I can explain.
6. Having spent time, given thanks for the time and the presence, I don’t prattle on. He is busy, I am busy.

7. When the time is over, I say thanks, make a namaste and then I go about my day.

And that’s about it.  When I do the  www.jtalkingwithgod.blogspot.com time, it is almost the same except God not only talks through my head, he talks through my hands on the keyboard.  It works that’s all I can say.
PS.  Don’t try to empty your mind.  Buddha didn’t.  He had a question and determined that he would sit under the Bodhi tree until it be answered or he die.  It was answered,  and yours will be if you have patience.
I hope that you take extra care with your morning meditation, and  have put an extra column in your “to-do” book for God (or The Universe – however  you like to think of Him).  I put the things I am having trouble with in this column in my own diary…..   It is amazing how quickly they get attended to.

GIFTS:
Christmas is coming, so don’t forget that we have some lovely yoga things in our shop.  If you want CD’s, a swing, bands, books, the tarot…. You will be buying something encouraging for your yoga friends, and supporting us.

NOA BELLING – YOGA HANDBOOK.  PLEASE…..WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!
We are still asking for your help. I wondered if any of you out there had finished with their book and would like to sell it back to us, WE WOULD LOVE TO BUY IT OFF YOU.  We can get it secondhand from time to time for $25 to $30.  We will buy yours off you for $25 plus whatever is the postage cost.  Email us if you would like to sell yours, and Deb will call you to organise.   yogafirst2@bigpond.com

NEW CLASSES
Please note the three new classes above.  Yes it’s close to the end of the year, but we will be working up to the 23rd of December, so there is plenty of time to come to yoga.  It isn’t Christmas Day tomorrow (even though it may feel like that in the Supermarket).

*Brad is not well at the moment, and we have other teachers who have volunteered their time to take his place (thank you).

*RESTORATIVE YOGA (all classes with with Jahne) is a beautiful, gentle yoga which is done using lots of props and lots of time.  No balancing, no headstands, nothing but gentle stretches and rests.  You and/or a friend will love it especially if you have had surgery, are anxious, haven’t exercised for years, have a weight problem, or have a neurological problem.  It is also a PERFECT pre and postnatal session – if you are pregnant, please get a  doctors certificate and bring it to your first class – not because I think you are unwell, but as it is an insurance requirement.

THE CLASSES:  If you are wondering what level to join here’s a clue.  The General class is a more vigorous class, the Restorative is a very gentle class and Yin Yoga lies between the two.  If you haven’t done yoga for a long time, you may like to start with Restorative, move on the Yin and then take your pick of the general classes.

“The Bentinck” is on the corner of the Romsey Road and the High Street in Woodend.  Enter from  the start of the Romsey Road only.

PARKING:
No matter which class you come to – as you enter the Romsey Road gate, Yoga parking is either to the left or the right of the gate – on the inside of the gate .  If that is full, then the space over the road is always available.  PLEASE DON’T park in the central space – even it is empty and you are late, this is for Innisfree staff coming and going.

There is no need to park on the road if there is room inside the gate to the right or to the left, and a huge space available just across the road if all is full inside.

www.yogabeautiful.com.au  If you are looking for any changes in times and days, then please go to the web site.  You will find everything there. There is also our blog  www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com.au

What you are may sometimes miss the mark,  a prisoner in liberty.
Get up somehow, get clean right now and be a happy, happy child set free.

NEXT TEACHER TRAINING CLASS  The next will be the first Sunday in December (the 6th) at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room.  Please join us.  If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10   If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20.

NEW: SPIRITUAL YOGA CLASS:
Mondays at 1.45, followed by meditation 2.30 to 3.30.
Please bring an open mind – this is a ‘ guided’ class.  We will be exercising the muscle between the ears (the brain).  Do come along….  No children please.   I love children in yoga but this particular class is not appropriate for children.

TTHE ROSARY (or MALA). This is a much maligned and underused item in a yoga persons repertoire of tools.  Just think of them as an aid to meditation.

When you make a mala, sort out a prayer or a song that takes three minutes.  Divide the mala’s beads into three with a large bead between each section, and then as you meditate (and only if you have trouble concentrating with any other method, or like to do it during the day, or when out walking) you will know when you have done the three minutes, and then you can begin again, going over and over with many three minutes as you walk.

Traditionally, there are 108 beads on a strand of buddhist mala prayer beads. The “ sacred” number relates astrologically to the 12 astrological houses, multiplied by the 9 planets in our solar system.   My small mini=malas have just two cycles of seven to denote days of the week. They can be anything – whatever makes you happy .  Originally the Buddha just saw the King threading seeds from the Bodhi tree into a Japa tool, thought it was a good idea copied it, and the various complications have arisen from that.  We humans like to make everything complicated!
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – “JAHNE’S YOGA UNIVERSITY” Within our school there are three levels of YOGA TEACHER TRAINING, plus a course in the Gita, the fundamental source of all yoga teaching through the ages.

*THE BHAGAVADGITA (and YOGA PHILOSOPHY) which is like a Certificate or Diploma Level,  RYTA 200/350 which is our “degree course”  and     *RYTA500 the “masters”.
1.   THE BHAGAVADGITA (YOGIC PHILOSOPHY)
2.    RYTA200 –  THE BASIC YOGA COURSE
3.    RYTA350 – COURSE ACCREDITED BY YOGA AUSTRALIA
4.    RYTA500 – THE NEXT STEP
5.    RESTORATIVE YOGA

Most people have never met, and don’t understand, that there are angels all around us whose only job is to make sure that you don’t get too comfortable, fall asleep and miss the important moments (and gifts) in your life.

THE GITAJAIA YOGA FOUNDATION: Not only will this assist us to help others, it will be a registered charity – or that is what we are working towards.  Then all donations will be tax deductible.  What a good thing!

THE SHOP and ETSY  www.myyogabooks.etsy.com As usual we are ahead of the pack.  Colouring books are the new big thing, and we have had our colouring-in posters available for a long time now.
This week I received an email from one of our students who had purchased the chakras and colouring book and REALISED THAT COLOURING THE DRAWINGS  WAS A MEDITATION.  I celebrated.  It has taken a year for a student to understand the reason for the drawings. THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! THANK YOU……!!!
ALL OUR IN-HOUSE DVD’S AND CD’S ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS SITE.  Please remember that they are not flashy high cost productions.  They are made by Deb and me to answer your various questions.  They are useful in your course.
*YIN YOGA, THE ANATOMY AND THE CHAKRAS all by Paul  Grilley *THE YAMAS  *THE UN-MEDITATION COURSE  *YOGA SWINGS *THE REVELATION TAROT *HOW-TO STUDY YOGA BY DISTANCE EDUCATION – A BOOKLET….. *THE CHAKRAS – A COLOURING-IN BOOK and a REFERENCE BOOKLET -*CHAKRA BOOKLET *ETERNITY THE PRAYER

I move with the infinite in nature’s power.  I hold the fire of the soul.  I hold the life and healing”. (Rig Veda)

REGISTRATION/INSURANCE www.yogabeautiful.com.au We are giving you total choice now, although it may be a bit more expensive…..
REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE HAVE BEEN UNCOUPLED.  YOU CAN BUY THEM SEPARATELY.  A DEARER OPTION, BUT IT SEEMS THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT.  WE AIM TO PLEASE.

YOUR TEACHER TRAINING YEAR (or so): If you are a trainee Yoga Teacher who has been working on the course for more than a year please understand that your course fee only gives you FREE classes with me for your first training year – the first 12 months only.     Imagine if what would happen to our Institute if  you took three years to finish your course and you could still come to classes free for the entire course.  We do our fee calculation based on 12 months of free yoga classes.   Your training fees cover you for a year, after that we ask you to pay $10 per class.

Also, just signing up and not sending in any modules means you are not really a trainee yoga teacher, and unless we receive regular communication (even if it isn’t modules), at a certain point we will deem that you have disconnected from us, and we will disconnect from you.  And, coming to class with no intention of completing the course just to get the cheaper, easier student insurance, and free classes isn’t exactly living the yamas!  Sooner or later we will call your bluff.

I have found  if you paddle your boat it is easier to maintain the illusion of control, but I tell you it is so much more fun if you pull the oars in and just let the river take you where it will….

VIDEOS:  THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL – THEY ARE NECESSARY! Only $275 per annum. Please look down the list of the videos before you try to do stick drawings, or organise your journal.  I have shown you what I recommend..  All you have to do is download.  I even did a video on ‘The Gita.  Good feedback thus far – thank you.      Please.  Email us and Debbie will make sure that you are logged in promptly. OH YES, IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE SUBSCRIPTION, THEN PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS.  IF YOUR NAME IS NOT EDGAR CAYCE THEN YOU CAN’T LEARN WHAT IS ON THE TAPE FROM SLEEPING WITH YOUR COMPUTER! yogafirst2@bigpond.com

GARDENING WITH BENEFITS Oh my goodness, I really have to get out into the garden more.  The raspberries are fruiting and I put the nets on them this morning.  The Marion berries have an infestation of a thrip, but they are fruiting and winter (yes winter) will take care of the thrip most effectively.    I won’t use chemicals, just let nature take its course.  Obviously the vine needs a nutrient I didn’t provide… but I will.

COOKING WITH JAHNE
It is vine leaf time.  If you have grape vines or can get your hands on some, choose the larger younger leaves and use them for wrapping little parcels  prior to putting them on the BBQ. Don’t just use them for wrapping cooked rice, although this is great.   Blanch a until they are limp, dry on paper towels, and wrap your fish,  prawns of whatever with the leaves, tying them with onion or leak tops which you have Blanched at the same time.  Gorgeous.

Think YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley…before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each.  I thought that this was a good investment.  I think half that is a steal! And that is what we are selling this.

PAST LIFE THERAPY
If you want a Past Life appointment.  Please keep in mind it will take about 2 hours, maybe a bit more (or less)  I don’t like to feel a time restriction.  There are some Sundays available Between now and the New year, Fridays, and Tuesday afternoons also are possible given the time frame needed.  If you have a problem you have been wanting resolved, this maybe a lovely Christmas gift to yourself.  You will need to speak to me first if I don’t know you to determine a time frame.  Email in the first instance to  yogafirst2@bigpond.com

ATTENTION PLEASE: WE are so close to the end of the year, if you want an appointment make it now.  There are not many vacancies.

REGARDING DEBBIE If you want to speak to Debbie about any aspect of the courses – she has done them, please remember that she only comes in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  On those days she is available on Ph: 0354 273 518.  I am always here, and available preferably on email or text because I teach and am not always at my desk.  Don’t hesitate to email me and I will answer your email or text as soon as I can.

WE REALLY ARE MOVING…
Telstra was there,  GICI Computer solutions was there, the electrician was there, and the removalists.  We moved in, and we are still weaving among things that are being done to upgrade and improve. Even the furniture is being French Polished around us…..    It will be wonderful when it is completely done, and we are warm, and settled.    Spacious is a word that has been used, and yes.  There is that.  I will get used to spacious, although I am a “small space” girl.  I could live and work in a tiny, tiny house or studio.
Once we get settled I will get back into the videos.  We have plans – of course.  On the weekend I felt I had enough time to myself to paint my kitchen cupboards – charcoal of course.  It’s like any reno.  Once you have done one part, you notice all the rest that needs a lift.  I am not one of these people who leave the renos until you are ready to move so that the value of the house will be increased.  I like to live in my own house, and I like to make it as comfortable as possible.  Don’t you?

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A MATE?
Lots of my students are.   I have to say that the harder you look, the more focussed you are, the harder it is to find the “right” one.  When it doesn’t really matter anymore, when you are happy with what you have, when you look about and are truly grateful, then life will supply the perfect mate for you.  Maybe not the one that you had in mind, but the one you need.
Remember you are the law of attraction.  What you are feeling you will attract, and if you are feeling desperate, then you will attract that.
I was speaking to a friend over the weekend who is in that position.  I asked what they were looking for, and they said “anyone”!  They felt that anyone was better than being on their own.  This is a person that has what I would call a good life.  Security, money, assets, a job they have designed for themselves;  parent still alive, brothers and sisters still alive.  Everything to be grateful for, but STILL, still there is something missing.  A Mate!!! ANY MATE! –  I think they have a lot to learn about life, about being grateful,  and even more about relationships.

WHAT ARE YOU PREPARED TO WALK AWAY FROM….
Last week I asked this question.   “What are you prepared to walk away from?  Email me.  Let me know”. yogafirst2@bigpond.com You did eventually take this to heart and you sent in some lovely suggestions.  Think about it every day.   It can change your life.
Giving/given up: *Plastic Bags, *useless time spent googling, *social media on Thursdays, *alcohol, *relationships that don’t work for me, *pain (decided to work with it and through it, instead of on it). Etc. etc.for a page and a half of single line manifestos.  That’s me.

THE BLOG AND FACEBOOK
Nicole is doing our FaceBook YOGA FIRST pages and the Blog. yogafirst2@bigpond.com If you read something with a YOGA FIRST blue log, the it is Nicole’s post.

For yoga books and tarot, please look on www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com I have done a small write up, and there is a picture of the front page.  I advise you to look at the chakra book, and the yama booklet.  This month we are being review in the USA – I   am looking forward to this as you can imagine.

WE ARE TURNING THE INSTITUTE INTO THE GITAJAIA YOGA FOUNDATION
Now I am having to think of Directors, a Board, and a constitution – which when we are done – you will be able to view on line.    Thank you to those who have emailed words of support.   As I have said on the Facebook pages, I am calling it the “GITAJAIA YOGA Foundation” to honour my teacher Margrit Segesman and her lineage, and to honour the Gita which is at the core of our teachings .  The “Jaia” is what I know myself as, and this part of the name is to honour the 50 years that I have been inspired to teach you all.  If you asked Debbie what kind of yoga we do here, she would reply immediately GITAJAIA.  Of course it is Hatha, but GitaJaia honours the lineage.

NOA BELLING – YOGA HANDBOOK
We will buy yours off you for $25 plus whatever is the postage cost.  Email us if you would like to sell yours, and Deb will call you to organise.  yogafirst2@bigpond.com

YOGA CLASSES –  Times they are a changing…. Classes held at the Bentinck  THE HOME OF THE AUSTRALASIAN YOGA INSTITUTE.    Cost:  $10 per person per class (or $100 a 12 class pass:  non–transferable).  $15 mum plus little yoga bub. $25 per family (mum, dad and two primary school children.  Young adults $10 each).
ABOUT THE RENOVATIONS:   Because we are moving our entrance,  I would ask you to get into the habit of coming through the side door opposite to the usual In-Door, just follow the path around to the other side of the building…  it may be a bit cluttered, but this will change.  It is like watching a renovation game.
Once Debbie and Nicole have moved there after the bits are moved, and the desks are cleared of clutter, you will be able to drop in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for your yoga queries to be attended to.

ABOUT THE CLASSES:  Jahne has gently turned her attention to THE RESTORATIVE YOGA sessions.  Of course she still teaches a full workload at Innisfree.   However,  her senior teachers have been gradually taking over her general/public Hatha Yoga classes.  They are loving it – and I believe you are loving the changes too.   If you want a private session, she is available by appointment.  Hypnotherapy/Trance Healing and past Life Therapy available as usual of course.

WHERE: “The Bentinck” is on the corner of the Romsey Road and the High Street in Woodend.  Enter from  the start of the Romsey Road only – the sign is big and clear .  Don’t wander around Woodend looking for the class.  If you really get lost, just ask a shopkeeper for THE BENTINCK.  It is iconic in the district and they will give you directions.  Don’t come to no. 37 Morris Road, Woodend.  There may be a gardener, there may be a cleaner, there are certainly guys on the site and over the road fixing and mending –  I might be there doing other things….but there is no yoga at No. 37 any more.

PARKING:  If both sides of the car park are full when you arrive, please park over the road – you just have to walk across Romsey road to yoga, and that’s not such a hard thing.  Don’t park anywhere else.  As you enter the gate, park only to right or to the left – not straight ahead. That also is staff parking.

CLASS TIMES
Monday  5.30pm RESTORATIVE – Jahne , 6.30 general class (Nicole).
Tuesday 10am RESTORATIVE – Jahne  and 7.30 general class (Brad),
Wednesday 12.30 general class (Kalma)
Friday 6.30pm general class  (Nicholas)
Saturday. 10am general class (Nicole) plus 9am RESTORATIVE and 12.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA – Jahne.

**Because some of the classes are back to back, please check before you walk in early.  There is a notice on the door,   PLEASE READ IT.  Walk around the building and wait quietly in the “ sunroom” on the other side as we have asked –  don’t just walk in, especially not in the old door. Thank you.

*RESTORATIVE YOGA (4 classes now – and growing)
…a beautiful, gentle yoga which is done using lots of props and lots of time.  No balancing, no headstands, nothing but gentle stretches and rests.  You and/or a friend will love it especially if you have had surgery, are anxious, haven’t exercised for years, have a weight problem, or have a neurological problem.  It is also a PERFECT prenatal and postnatal session – if you are pregnant, please get a doctors certificate and bring it to your first class – not because I think you are unwell, but as it is an insurance requirement.

TEXT ONLY YOUR BOOKING REQUEST TO 0402 088 170.  Please don’t ring me.

WATCH THE TIME – Don’t just wander in as if the only time that matters is yours.  Every minute of a one hour class is important, so it is important that you get to the class early.  When you arrive, be observant, and if there is a class in progress go around to the side door.  PLEASE,  please be on time.
www.yogabeautiful.com.au If you are looking for any changes in times and days, then please go to the web site.  You will find everything there.

NEXT TEACHER TRAINING CLASS – The next will be on Sunday 3rd August at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room.  Please join us.  If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10.  If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are a visitor and not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20.

THE FORGIVENESS BOOK This book is still travelling,  keep it moving along, the list is longish.   And…..If you would like to be next on the list of 108 people, please email me…yogafirst2@bigpond.com

ART/PHILANTHROPY AND PHOTOS FROM THE MISSION The money goes towards buying bandages and other necessities for the  mission, and also into our scholarship fund – whichever needs it most at the time.    If you can send even a few dollars, please do (talk to Deb on Tuesdays or Wednesday to arrange).  We live the yamas, so,  you will know the money will go to where we say it will go, and be used for what we say it will be used for..  No staff or administration fees deducted at any point! Photos: www.flickr.com/photos/amigasdelsenor PS:  You can’t send the money direct, although that would be easier – it has to go through the US Mission office for reasons of security.

Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things.

BEANIES FOR NEPAL
Knit, Knit, Knit!!!!  You will find a pattern on www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com

Then send your beanies to PO Box 14, Mt.Macedon. Vic. 3441.  – THANK YOU FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE THIS.  Please don’t send them POD or COD.  It would be cheaper for us to buy beanies if we have to repatriate them from the post office.  The cheapest way to forward them is to collect a whole lot, and then go to office works and take advantage of their new parcel service.  Some Newsagents also have a splendid Australia-wide parcel postage service.

YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley This is one of my major sources of course and can be a source for you too.  BUY ALL THREE.  You will never regret it.   They are the best and will form the backbone of your yoga references.  Don’t hold back it will be false economy.   As I have told you before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each.  I thought that this was a good investment.  I think half that is a steal! And that is what we are selling this for www.yogabeautiful.com.au   I move with the infinite in nature’s power.

YOUR TEACHER TRAINING YEAR (or so): Signing up for a course – our course included, is like buying a car.  You can’t buy it, take it for one run, leave it in the garage and a year later go back to the dealer and ask for your money back.  It doesn’t work like that.  If you are on the course, you are on the course until you write and let us know that you are not.  If twelve months and more have elapsed with no contact in spite of all our newsletters, etc…. then you have (as far as we are concerned) been on the course for 12 months.

If you are a trainee Yoga Teacher who has been working on the course for more than a year please understand that your course fee only gives you FREE classes with me for your first training year – the first 12 months only.  Imagine if what would happen to our Institute if  you took three years to finish your course and you could still come to classes free for the entire course.  We do our fee calculation based on 12 months of free yoga classes.   Your training fees cover you for a year, after that we ask you to pay $10 per class.

I have found  if you paddle your boat it is easier to maintain the illusion of control, but I tell you it is so much more fun if you pull the oars in and just let the river take you where it will….

TAKE CLASSES WITH JAHNE ANYWHERE, ANY TIME.
VIDEOS:  THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL – THEY ARE NECESSARY! Only $275 per annum. Please look down the list of the videos before you try to do stick drawings, or organise your journal.  I have shown you what I recommend. All you have to do is download.  I even did a video on ‘The Gita.  Good feedback thus far – thank you. Please.  Email us and Debbie will make sure that you are logged in promptly.

THE DRUMMING VIDEO – I know that if you watch it you will find it “uninspiring”, primarily because it is not meant to be watched.  Videoing is the easiest way to get sounds to you too.  If you put the video on and settle down for your 3 minute meditation you will enjoy it, because that is how it was meant to be used.

THE YOGA CHEF (COOK)…… Please go to our Blog. www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com to catch up with recipes.

MOVING. MOVING (I THINK) – SO PATIENCE PLEASE! Now you know and I know that no matter how much we plan there will be a few days of chaos, as cables, Telstra and Optus catch up, and we pack then unpack the files.  I am not looking forward to it at all.  Not even a little bit.   Everything about it makes me not want to think about it – but I am sure that when we have settled in we will love it.  Thank goodness for CIGI Computing Solutions (Sunbury) who are a magnificent help with the trying IT problems that arise when you least expect them..
THE LAST WORD: I try to imagine life without being able to speak to God, but none of the days without that special energy have the same laughter, or opportunities…..

BRAIN EXERCISES AND RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY
I know you are all aware that RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY has captured my life, and I am learning more an more about how we can help our students get the best from their classes, and I thought I would share an insight with you.

One of our older students, a male we’ll call him Bob, has been through the mill.  He lost his eldest two sons to cancer recently, he has had two bouts of cancer himself, and through that, huge amount of both radiation and chemotherapy.  This has left him badly brain fogged.  He can’t tell right from left, can’t follow instructions and needs to be placed into position.  Can’t do many of the more complex and demanding positions (yes, there are some in RYT, especially the supported back bends with twists).  I have found and am encouraging him to relearn crawling.  When he gets to class early, and after class I get an assistant to help me to help him crawl.  For him, I see RYT at the present more as a brain training than a physical training, and am taking that into the general class with more mind gym exercises in the first 15 minutes, then the restore and relax poses.

Try them.   If you are not aware of them, I will put a guide on my site for you.  Let me know you are interested and I will make sure you are notified.

OUR SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER…
Wayne is doing wonderfully well.  You will meet him if you come to class.  We will soon be able to give him a (partial/limited) teacher training certificate so that he will be able to go on walkabout and teach his people to the extent that he has been able to learn in the time he has had.  He assures me that he will continue returning to build on his knowledge, but at least he will be able to teach.  He has mastered the 5 Tibetans, and Restorative, but not the therapy aspect, just the asanas.
If you live in the Macedon Ranges, Wayne has been asked to teach painting at SEW WOODEND.  If you are interested in taking a class with him.  I understand that he will be teaching painting a pendant, and doing a “family” painting to describe your family.  If you are interested in being notified when he will be doing that please let me know at yogafirst2@bigpond.com

What you are may sometimes miss the mark,  a prisoner in liberty.  Get up somehow, get clean right now and be a happy, happy child set free.

FACEBOOK
Thank you for sending photographs to Nicole.  I am sure everyone likes to see that our students come from all walks of life, and from everywhere in the country (and the world).  More please….

THE YAMAS (a repeat by request)
I have never liked the (Christian) “Thou Shalt Not” approach and am trying out a new one.  What do you think of this.

NOA BELLING – YOGA HANDBOOK.  PLEASE…..WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!

“The Bentinck” is on the corner of the Romsey Road and the High Street in Woodend.  Enter from  the start of the Romsey Road only.

PARKING:
No matter which class you come to – as you enter the Romsey Road gate, Yoga parking is either to the left or the right of the gate.  If that is full, then the space over the road is always available.  PLEASE DON’T park in the central space – even it is empty and you are late, this is for Innisfree staff coming and going.

WALK AGAINST SUICIDE INNISFREE is a sponsor, and I will be turning up really early to help cook the bacon and egg rolls like we did last year. The walk was great fun, for an urgent cause,  and I hope that you will join in .  Sunday 13th September at 8.30 start at the Children’s park behind the BP service station in Woodend.

NEXT TEACHER TRAINING CLASS – The next will be THIS Sunday 6TH SEPTEMBER at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room.  Please join us.  If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10.  If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20.    THE FORGIVENESS BOOK This book is still travelling,  keep it moving along, the list is longish.   And…..If you would like to be next on the list of 108 people, please email me…yogafirst2@bigpond.com

THE ANGELS New angels can be seen at SEW WOODEND.  In the main street just up from the chemist.  Easy to pick – its the shop with the sewing machine on the footpath.  I am teaching a workshop there on painting and embroidering an angel.  Do let me know if you would like to join me.  I haven’t got any details, but it won’t be expensive, it will be short, and any money I raise will be going to our new GITAJAIA Foundation.  Email me and I will keep you in the loop.
Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – “JAHNE’S YOGA UNIVERSITY” AT A FANTASTIC PRICE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS…. our classes are available via distance education and you can start any time..  Thank you to those students who are moving from their 200 to another, higher course.  Once you have got into the habit of learning, then it is easy to keep going….

Within our school there are three levels of YOGA TEACHER TRAINING, plus a course in the Gita, the fundamental source of all yoga teaching through the ages.

*THE BHAGAVADGITA (and YOGA PHILOSOPHY) which is like a Certificate or Diploma Level,  RYTA 200 which is our “degree course”  and     *RYTA500 the “masters”.
1.   THE BHAGAVADGITA (YOGIC PHILOSOPHY)
2.    RYTA200 –  THE BASIC YOGA COURSE
3.    RYTA500 – THE NEXT STEP
4.  RESTORATIVE YOGA THERAPY TRAINING (WE WILL BE ADDING PRE AND POST-NATAL RESTORATIVE YOGA ).

Most people have never met, and don’t understand, that there are angels all around us whose only job is to make sure that you don’t get too comfortable, fall asleep and miss the important moments (and gifts) in your life.

GARDENING WITH BENEFITS The weather has been beautiful, perfect for gathering herbs for my little tinctures and herbal remedies.  It is especially wonderful to pick the herbs when they have the dewdrops fresh on them. The car tends to look a bit scruffy because of the tracks and mud puddles I drive her through.  But it is all worth it.

The garden is well mulched.  I tend to think that we are going to have an horrendous bush fire season, although all is well at the present moment.  So country people, get on top of the leaf mould in the gutters, and if you live in the bush, start thinking about your action plan.  It is never to early.  When Deb first moved here she felt that a mop, bucket, a pair of goggles and a gucci outfit were all that were required.  She woke up really fast to the reality, and now is super well prepared.  Are you?

COOKING
I love chocolate and this week made an olive oil, polenta, cous cous chocolate cake.   It is beautiful and I had had to ration myself.  I even made a sinless chocolate sauce to go on it.  It is totally yummy.  I think the cooking shows are getting to me, especially THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF.  I like it because the entrants are all so ordinary, and all different ages.  Master chef?  No, they are really good cooks.  I don’t aspire to that level.   I do like GOK, and I think I am going to try a gluten free steamed savoury dumpling when next I have the chance.  I think I have hit the sweet button a bit hard!  Its time for a change.

YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley Just got a new shipment.   They are the best and will form the backbone of your yoga references.  As I have told you before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each.  I thought that this was a good investment.  I think half that is a steal! And that is what we are selling this for. www.yogabeautiful.com.au   JAHNE’S MENTORING SESSIONS …. Because Jahne has been teaching yoga teachers for more than 40 years, and running a business the Buddhist way for much longer than that (and successfully) she is often asked for advice. She also consults on the Tarot and the I-Ching.   Please make an appointment.
