Dear Yogis
It snowed quite heavily at the gallery in Mt.Macedon on Saturday.  I was worried as I drove home that taking the mountain road may not have been the best decision – especially when the car in front of me was travelling at 10k kph, but once down the mountain the snow eased off and my little car snuck into her garage.  All well.
The latest work – Merlin (the photo to the left) is not yet finished… I will let you know when it is ready to live on your wall.
The Mt.Macedon exhibition will last for another couple of weeks so, please pop in , buy a painting (at a great price!), buy a card.  Once this exhibition is over I will be putting the paintings on my web site and etsy at the price they should be – this gallery show is just a starter for what could be your collection.
However the cards on the web will only be available in sets of 5 in order to deal with postage charges.

Time for a laugh.  Here are some interesting reflections on ageing from John Cleese!!

1. When one door closes and another door opens, you are probably in prison.
2. To me, “drink responsibly” means don’t spill it.
3. Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.
4. It’s the start of a brand new day, and I’m off like a herd of turtles.
5. The older I get, the earlier it gets late.
6. When I say, “The other day,” I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.
7. I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.
8. I had my patience tested. I’m negative.
9. Remember, if you lose a sock in the dryer, it comes back as a Tupperware lid that doesn’t fit any of your containers.
10. If you’re sitting in public and a stranger takes the seat next to you, just stare straight ahead and say, “Did you bring the money?”
11. When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say “nothing,” it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.
12. I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.
13. I run like the winded.
14. I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don’t know whose side I’m on.
15. When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, “Why, what did you hear?”
16. When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?
17. I don’t mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.
18. When I ask for directions, please don’t use words like “east.”
19. Don’t bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That’ll freak you right out.
20. Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life out of nowhere, makes your heart race, and changes you forever. We call those people cops.
21. My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb.
I have nothing to add.  This is just too “right”.  Thanks John.

MY NEW YOGA BOOK ON ETSY.

If you want a copy of the new booklet with illustrated exercises and details of teaching/doing yoga with the Magic Circle, then it is on Etsy.
Go to www.morrisroadstudio.etsy.com  or www.myyogabooks.etsy.com  Either will get you there
I have learned a lot with this change up, and I invite you to do the same.  I started with a magic circle that I picked up in an op shop for $2 – something new to work with I thought.  It was accepted by every student I introduced it to so I bought more on Temu (online – be aware that they come in different diameters as well as different colours, and different prices.  Check the whole lot before you buy).  This week I took delivery of another small shipment which is already SOLD to students who wanted to use them at home.  How many times have your students asked to take home a series of exercises?   I didn’t intend to sell them I do need them for my classes BUT I will always go with the students if they WANT to work at home!!!  Now I need another shipment….
It’s just like the old days when we had to buy our own mats and blocks from overseas, always playing catch up with the post or the rail shipments – it was quite exciting going to the station to collect a shipment arriving on a train late at night!  Very “Casablanca”.  Now they are delivered quickly to my doorstep – where’s the fun in that! however I have come to terms with losing the romance because delivery is very fast….

NAMASTE
JAHNE

Good morning Yogis

I am off to yoga nice and early this morning.  Not a 6.30 class, a 9.30 class, but you would think it was a 6.30 class by most people’s response – “That’s so early.  Don’t you have a later class?”

Well the answer is YES, I have a few later classes, but no class will suit you if all you are looking for is a social get together.  You can do that anywhere, anytime and without any commitment to yoga (or anything else).  Other  much used responses – “You don’t understand, I have children” or “My children don’t like me to do yoga” or  “You don’t understand I have to get my husband’s breakfast”.  (I gather from this he doesn’t know where the kitchen is?) or “I just don’t feel up to it this morning”.  What does that even mean?

Get into a routine.  Don’t get into discussion with your mind (or your children – you are the boss of both), especially the mind that wants you to stay in bed.  JUST DO IT. 3 minutes of meditation 5 minutes of yoga stretching – done.  Or you could come here.  OR BOTH!

Truly, I have heard all the excuses in my years of teaching and I am hoping for something original – but more than that, I am hoping you will put the excuses aside and come to yoga, and then keep on coming to yoga. Once a week is not enough, unless you have a discipline at home.
