Blog Student News Trainees/Teacher News

Dear Yogis,

Another day on the Mountain.  Cold, wet,  English, but heaps better than hot, dry and bush-fire’y.
Some of you will notice another newsletter from me in their mailbox shortly.  Mailchimp is altering the way they do business, hence the missing newsletter at the end of the last few months.  No notification, just no send-out.  To counter this and the higher rates, I have decided to send a mail out from www.firstmountaindowsers.com my pendulum dowsing site inbetween, not instead of our usual YogaBeautiful newsletter.   This newsletter will be just about dowsing, pendulums, cards and divination generally.

If you would like to be on the FIRST MOUNTAIN DOWSERS NEWSLETTER list, please let me know.  Once we are through THE BIG PAUSE (Covid), we will be doing Pendulum field trips,  and meetings here in the studio.  Until we get to that point ZOOM is our best point of personal contact and I will organise a weekly or monthly ZOOM meeting once I have your interest. I know you all would like to be involved.  We are going to continue our weekly Tarot, Pendulum and Board making classes.

If I send a “Mountain Dowsers” newsletter and you don’t want it, then email and let me know and I can delete it.  That’s one thing about this other list.  I can delete or add, I don’t rely on mail chimp to interpret my requests.

ZOOM THIS WEEK..
SUNDAY
10am THE BHAGAVADGITA – The Yogas.      MONDAY 1pm, RESTORATIVE YOGA  TUESDAY 7.30 THE SUTRAS (A study).

Our Friday PENDULUM CLASS, and our Saturday PENDULUM AND TAROT class, are both very useful, inspirational..  Some beautiful boards, Sumii and Tarot cards are being produced.  We are not hurrying.  I am just so glad we are working through the projects step by step.  I will photograph them when they are ready to be shown.  You will be amazed.

CHANNELLING.

I am a fan of Kryon, and in the beginning of his journey Neale Donald Walsh (once he started to chase the dollars he lost me).  In our classes and when we are reading the tarot, and moving forward in our creative endeavours, we are certainly channelling.  When we are being the best that we can be,  that is what we are doing.

The amazing tarot cards and boards which are coming out of our classes are from channelling.  The results are nothing short of extraordinary.  If you were sitting where I do, watching the class you would see when the students fall into “trance” (no candles needed), i.e. deep focus.  Their attention gets very concentrated, there is no talking and their heart rates reduce.  It would be interesting to have a scientific experiment done to show if there was a difference physically between this and meditating.  The students look and act as if they are doing a meditation, and afterwards say they have been.  Does it feel like this to you when you are being creative? Besides channelling when you are being creative, slipping into that way of being,  you are choosing to channel.

When you are able to contact your guides (however you do that, through the cards, the pendulum, praying, or meditating on them – you are channelling.  Bringing them in) they will help you to make a difference in your world.  This does not mean that you will not have to struggle if you have chosen to go that route.  Many of you do not trust a way that does not include struggle!  There are ways to live effortlessly if you choose to do so.  It doesn’t mean that everything will automatically come to you, that you can kick back and do nothing.  It does mean that you will get a greater sense of what you want to create and find easier ways to bring it about.

If you follow the advice of your guide, and continue channelling (praying, meditating), changes will occur in your emotional nature and you will experience less of the feelings of heaviness, depression and anxiety.

Channelling will not solve all your problems, it will only change you in ways you want to change yourself. Channelling is not a cure-all or an end all, it simply accelerates your growth opportunities and lessons.  You are still responsible for your life.  Be open to small changes and you will find your efforts rewarded beyond your expectations.  They won’t always be what you expect and they won’t always come from the direction you expect, so be open to pleasant surprises.

Channelling helps you to connect to a constant, steady source of inspiration and information.  Trust your inner guidance and messages.  You are a special, unique individual with unlimited potential… I invite you to discover for yourself your inner Divinity.

When extraordinary things begin to happen in your life – do not forget GRATITUDE.  Do not forget to say “thank you”. OFTEN.

I will see you on ZOOM

SPIRITS
Several of you have asked me about Guides and Spirits, and how to communicate.  We have been touching on this in our Friday and Saturday /Pendulum tarot classes.  In case you missed… here is my receipe (you can adjust to suit your way of doing things – there is no “RIGHT WAY” just your way!)

There is Clairvoyance (seeing),  Clairtangence/psychometry (touching),   Clairgustance (tasting), Clairsentience (feeling),
Clairscent/Clairodoance (smelling) and Clairempathy etc etc .   These are all different senses used to to communicate with spirits. While some people have a natural affinity for one or several, they can all be strengthened by anyone with practice.

After 50 years of doing yoga and meditation, My intuition is quite refined.  I disregard it at my peril.  I advise you to go with your instincts/senses and don’t discount anything.

I do have favourite tools which I make, teach and use.

Spirit boards or ouija
Pendulums with a board (yes, no, maybe, or even using a pendulum over a spirit board)
Playing cards and  tarot cards.

Many of you will have spirit communication spreads, and that’s great, but an even simpler way and more beginner friendly way is asking yes/no questions and using cartomancy.

Playing Card Deck (take out the jokers)
♠️ spades- yes  ♦️diamonds- no   ♣️clubs- maybe/reframe the question  ♥️hearts- I don’t know

Tarot Cards
Major arcana: interpret as you see fit. They always seem very clear to me.  Archetypes, people, major life events etc

When I have time, and feel like a RITUAL.. this is how I progress.
🕯Grab a candle and pop your candle in a glass.  Makes it easy to move, catches drips, and stops it blowing out.
🕯Trace or draw a septagram (seven pointed star, known for helping control spirits/keep things from getting out of hand, also good for limiting the interaction/influence to just that area) on the space you’ll be working/putting your tools.  I usually use my Pendulum board which have many good references/dieties built into them.
🕯Sit, breathe,  center and ground yourself.  You are working from the good, so no need to shield. (and you have your pendulum board) You can say a mantra or a prayer if you like to do this – I do.
🕯Light the candle and either vocally or internally invite a specific spirit or guide, just reach out and see who’s there.  If you are new to this you can use your PENDULUM BOARD, and determine alphabetically who you are speaking to.
🕯If you are using the cards… ask a question, draw a card, and keep going. This takes practise, but my new board will help you.  It has many options already in a spread waiting for you.  Don’t discount anything you may feel, hear or see in your minds eye.   For pendulum, the easiest of all.  Use the alphabet to discover who is talking, and then just ask yes/no questions until you learn the “language of the pendulum”.
🕯Use whatever method until either the spirit leaves or you’re done with the interaction. Then blow out the candle.**
🕯GOODBYE.  If you feel the need (I don’t)  you can cleanse the space, and cleanse your tool as well (sprinkling a little salt is perfect and simple)

Ta-Da!!! you’re a spirit worker.

Some comments…
*Don’t be afraid.  The lights are on, music may be playing, the incense fills the air.   This is not a television horror story… it is your space, decide beforehand the rules, and boundaries…   If you are a newbie to this, I highly suggest a small plan,   Examples: “Only human spirits and friends may come into this space. No lies can be spoken in this time.” (but it’s only fair if you do the same)
*Treat your Spirit Guest like a guest in your home – if in the session you make a promise to do something, or return at a certain time – DO IT.  It is important.  No-one like to be “stood-up”, even spirit.
*You do not have to say thank you. However, beginning the session with “welcome” and ending with “farewell/goodbye” (this is on my Pendulum board because sometimes I am so excited I forget.   Be polite.   If it’s a family member, or ancestral spirit, I have no problem saying thank you.

If you are seeking specific information or Information about your future, you’re better off interacting with an ancestral spirit or family member who you have a connection to.  Some people on the other side may just be excited to speak with you – it doesn’t mean they are the right person to speak to in order to get the answers you are looking for.

What if nothing happens?  Sometimes all is quiet.  Make your space as welcoming as possible, you are inviting a friend to join you. Light incense, burn some marigolds and mugwort etc.  Don’t be worried or feel you have failed.  They are not in the mood.  Try again later.

What if everything happens?  Those on the other side sometimes get a bit excited.  That’s OK, they can.  If things get hectic, don’t freak out and don’t just leave the space. Say goodbye, Explain why you are leaving and blow out the candle.  If you are worried even after you leave the space – take a shower, turn on the lights and CLEANSE YOUR TOOLS (pendulum board, pendulum, crystals…). The tool is a conduit, and leaving it open is not saying goodbye completely.

I hope this answers some of your questions.  If you have more, please email me.  yogafirst2@bigpond.com

NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

ZOOM
TODAY (WEDNESDAY):
12.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA  5.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA   6.45 MINDFULNESS MEDITATION

POST GRAD CERTIFICATES:  Congratulations to all those who are marching forward with their qualifications.  I salute you.  We can never study enough.  I have been inspired enough to reinstate our “YIN FOR KIDS” (YOGA FOR CHILDREN) Distance Education program.  When we get through covid and isolation, children will need to be supported and guess what, yoga is the perfect refuge.

REGISTRATION:  Check your registration.  If you are nearly ready to re-register (or register for the 1st time) I will pop one of our beautiful tiny PENDULUM BOARDS with your certificates as a freebie.  They are beautiful, and can travel anywhere with you.  Make sure you are Insured at the right level.  If you haven’t finished your course, the “QUALIFIED YOGA TEACHER INSURANCE” doesn’t mean you!

SUTRAS
This was a hard class.  There are few parts of yoga which are more challenging than studying sutra.  Western thought is all about logic and linear.  Indian thought is circular and full of paradox which resolve over time, and because of this we don’t start with Sutra 1 and work through to 195.  We work with concepts and consider sutras along side the concepts.

Having said that it is hard, nothing is more rewarding.  There are so many “light bulb” moments when we are discussing Sutras in a group, learning in a group.  How can we really say we know yoga, study yoga if we don’t know the sutras?  A trained “quickie” yoga teacher training graduate told me she had studied yoga philosophy – the whole lot – in “at least an afternoon!”  IMPOSSIBLE.

One thing that we have learned is that although Michael Roach’s “Essential Sutras” are easy to understand, the magic, the poetry is missing, (very much “meat and 3 veg” – basic) and some of his words he has borrowed from Iyengar.   We haven’t yet discovered a beautiful replacement and the Theosophical library is closed to us, so we will use Essential Sutras for the time being, and add the magic ourselves.

This is an ongoing study.  Although you have missed the first lesson, do join in for the rest.  We will be working through for however long it takes, and loving the journey.  It is all about SELF KNOWLEDGE.

LIVING THE LIFE
Going forward (and referring to the Sutras) we have to consider some key ideas…
1. What we want from life and why?
2. What are we being called to do – what is our HEART telling us?
3. Have we considered our INTERNAL WORLD – our Heart-Mind? (which is why we study the Sutras).

The most important aspect of ourselves we can explore right now is ORIGINAL AUTHENTICITY
In our world at the moment, THE GREAT PAUSE, the “Home Confinement” with the computer, here are some things to think about.

1. Be mindful of your sources of information and don’t react to everything you see on the screen.  Go for clarity, and spend some time every day reading an uplifting, spiritual text, doing a yoga practice no matter how small, breathe consciously, and sitting in the stillness.
2. Develop a mental “tuning fork” and tune in to what is uplifting and delete what is not.
3. Keep your vibrations high.  There are times we could consider a fast from TV, Media, friends, family, food (not all at once!). A stillness practice is worthwhile – stay in enlightened humility and then watch the synchronistic events multiply in your life.
4. You have a responsibility to care for and guard your JOY.  Go to where the LOVE is then PLAY – hang out where you feel joy. There is no need to push.
5. Embrace your creativity, treat yourself better, honour people who support you.

Be happy to sit in uncertainty.  You can’t know about tomorrow – you can’ even know about this afternoon really.  You only have RIGHT THIS MINUTE.  Be aware you have been created for something wonderful, something bigger.  Don’t just sit in “the small”.  If you want a bigger world stop hiding in small.

In the movie which is your life (you are the producer, the director the actor…) is it a horror movie, or a love story? Are you willing to stand in your own power and collaborate with each other?

Keep looking in the mirror.  Instead of pointing the finger outwards – “It’s their fault”,  “They don’t understand”, “It’s not up to me”, LET’S START RIGHT HERE WITH US, LET’S START WITH ME.

NAMASTE.  JAHNE
