Blog Student News Trainees/Teacher News

Hi Yogis,

Not much news this morning… I have been painting, doing, gardening (just a little) as usual.  I even had Sunday morning off for the first time since the beginning of the Covid Lockdowns more than 18 months ago – and it was GREAT.

SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK:
ZOOM: Monday 6.30 Teacher Training.  Friday FREE yoga class, 6.45.  For both of these please send me an email and I will send you a zoom ID.
SATURDAY – art making class.  Tarot/Miniatures on Tea Bags, whatever you want to do… $50 for 4 classes
STUDIO:  Monday 1pm Yoga, Wednesday 5.30 –  Restorative Yoga, Friday 5.30 – yoga

THE ART CLASS:  Over the weekend I learned how to join my iPhone to my computer and share the zoom screen so you can see what I am doing up close.  This took quite a long time as I am a bit of a klutz tech wise, but I did it.  Zoom asked me if I “Trust” my computer.  What a silly question – of course I don’t, but I said “yes” and went ahead anyway.

CCP:  We are coming up to another course of  THE COMPASSIONATE COMPANIONS PROJECT.  It has been a wonderful course and was much more,  and deeper than I had expected when I set it out.  We have also made connections with Australia’s foremost Funeral Celebrants Association so, if after you graduate you want to be formally recognised as a celebrant you can register with them.  No further study required.

This terrific connection means you can take your wish to be the best Death Doula you can be, one step further.  You can even become a funeral celebrant for animals, even children’s small animals.  I think it is important to take even the death of a mouse seriously.  Death of even a tiny pet  is a child’s first introduction to death and we should make it less scary, and not pretend it hasn’t happened.  All parents do if they pretend, or disregard,  is close a child down, so that in the future they won’t talk about or share important things.  Death is important, and doesn’t have to be scary.

CCP’ERS:   DONT FORGET.  NO CCP ZOOM THIS TUESDAY.  This will allow our students to take time out to do their modules, and finish the course.

NOW WE ARE ON LOCK DOWN LITE – I look forward to seeing you on the mat.

NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

There is always something new to learn – and I am learning to tap dance.  It is like a new language that involves the emotional, physical and the spiritual.  Quite amazing.  I am loving how I feel (apart from aching – especially in the rear end).  To stave off older age it is suggested that to keep the mind in shape that learning a language or musical instrument helps, well this is everything.  Mind,  body and spirit.  You should try it sometime.

ZOOM/STUDIO SCHEDULE
ZOOM: Friday 6.45 Tarot Class, Saturday 10.30 Introduction to CCP Course,  Saturday 2pm Tarot/Art Class,  Sunday CCP Study, Monday 6.30 Teacher Training.
STUDIO: Friday Hatha 5.30, Monday 1pm Restorative, Wednesday 5.30 Restorative.

COMPASSIONATE COMPANIONS COURSE
We are starting a new course on the 10th October, and invite you to come to an INFORMATION SESSION ON ZOOM  this Saturday at 10.30.  Email me and I will send you a zoom ID.  If you have ever wanted to be a Death Doula, then this takes your desire a bit further.  This is about being a LIFE AND DEATH DOULA.  Once you graduate, you will be able to be a Funeral Celebrant registered with one of Australia most reputable Association.  You will also be able to add “Narrative Medicine” to your list of skills.

I have always thought of myself as a “Doctor of Narrative Medicine”.  Maybe sometimes my stories seemed superfluous, but they never are.  They kind of get into the mind and work on the subconscious.  I particularly noticed this when I practiced hypnosis.  Trying to influence someone hardly ever worked long term, but using a story and allowing the subconscious to make of it what it will, worked every time.  Sometimes it took a couple of days to work up into the consciousness,  but it always did. Ericksonian Hypnosis method with my own twist.

Therapeutic story telling is magic.  Learning to craft appropriate behaviour changing stories for all ages and all circumstances takes patience, and skill.  I have even helped people stop smoking with the appropriate story.

I am going include this in our next course.  If you have done the last course, or our yoga  teacher training, or you are a hypnotherapist..or a counsellor, then this “magic” will be useful.

I am available for consultations – on zoom or in the studio.  Tarot/Narrative/Pendulum.. and even Bach flowers can be part on the consult (Bach can be posted).  $85 per session. plus Bach Flower Essences and postage for the essences if required.

Bye the way – if you are buying herbs or oils from me, if you are posting anything for yourself, there is only ONE WAY at the moment EXPRESS.   Sending ordinary post or parcel post could take an indeterminate time, weeks.  The record here is 5 weeks for a package to get between here and Daylesford which is 45 minutes away!! It did arrive!  This all could be a money raising ploy by AustraliaPost, but whatever, you need your post on time.  EXPRESS POST really is express… it works.

MAGNESIUM:  I learned a really good tip at Tap Dancing Class.  My teacher uses Epsom Salts (magnesium),  a cup of crystals in a stocking or sock and massage the body with it as you shower.  It works and it is easy.  I  am now a devotee.

I will see you on the mat, or on zoom

NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Hi Yogis,

Wow, wow, wow… what did I do before Shilajit?   I actually know… I seemed to be winding down.  I could see what needed to be done, but I didn’t want to do it.  Now, I am living, and I love it.  What I get done in a day is unbelievable and reminds me of a much younger me.  What is not to like?

I sold out of my first shipment really quickly, and am waiting for Australia post to deliver the next.  If you want to be in the line for the next to arrive, please email me yogafirst2@bigpond.com. $50 for the dropper bottle (50ml) plus $10 ordinary post $13.50 express post.

STUDIO/ZOOM SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK
STUDIO: Monday 1pm Hatha, Wednesday 5.30 Restorative, Friday Hatha (I think)
ZOOM: Tuesday 7,3o CCP.  Last nite (Tuesday) was theoretically the last CCP zoom of the “foundation” class, before the start of our new course.
Friday 6.45 Tarot, Saturday 10.30 Introduction to CCP Course email for ID, Sunday CCP Study, Monday Teacher Training – all welcome even graduates, Tuesday CCP study.

Gradually as covid morphs and changes our community schedules,  we will be changing our schedule.  Keep reading the newsletter.

TAP DANCING:  I wanted to move to music, to dance and to have fun, and not having to make a date or a time.  An independent time – the same as ice-skating.  A solitary pastime.  Just me and the music.  I found a place that would teach me (in Bendigo), and I have my first class this Thursday.  I thought it was going to be last Thursday but Covid complications occurred, so I just postponed.  I will let you know how I go, in fact they are talking about a video – I must say I am not sure about that… but we will get there.

TAROT
During covid we started a “make your own tarot deck” class which became an art class.  I would like to start again, you have said you are ready.  I haven’t finished the “Mary” deck and you may have a way to go, even if you want to just make art, then I am up for that.  Please join us. Starting this Saturday (2nd October) at 2pm until 4pm.

Please book, and pay – $50 for 4 classes.  Go to www.yogabeautiful.com.au and click on PayVia PayPal.

CCP.  COMPASSIONATE COMPANIONS (DEATH DOULAS?)

If you have always wanted to do this, here is your opportunity.  Although it is a short course, it is not a course where you can pay, not turn up, and get a qualification at the end.  There are not many requirements (it is only 12 week course most by distance) but taking one out of two zoom classes – Tuesday OR Sunday – is mandatory, although you can take both.

We are making close ties with Funeral Celebrant Associations and will be looking at other groups to work with as we progress, so it will be worthwhile, and a pathway to a new profession.  Funeral Celebrant or Death Doula (or Life and Death Doula).  Or a COMPASSIONATE COMPANION.  First step?  This short course.

AND YOU

I look forward to hearing from you – everything is changing for us all.  We have the opportunity to change, to re-examine our direction, to make sure we are travelling the path that is needed and wanted (not just working for the money).  We only have a short time on earth, and we might as well have enjoyment and fun if we can.  It is not supposed to be all about suffering.

I will see you on the mat
NAMASTE – JAHNE
