AT THE STUDIO

YOGA CLASSES:

There are heaps of changes….Initiated by my tenure at The Bentinck coming to a close, and I am moving on.

We are starting classes at the local Uniting Church on a “By Donation” basis. At the moment the first of this style of class will be on the 8th August at 11am, followed by a FREE COMMUNITY lunch at 12 and then a Yoga Nidra style meditation at 1pm following the lunch. On the following Friday there will be a class at 3pm. All these classes are by donation.

We will soon be starting MUMS+ONE with Charlie, and probably a kids yoga too.

PAINTING CLASSES:

The date of the painting class with me is 24th July. You may have missed the first class. If you read this and want to join in please email me at yogafirst2@bigpond.com…

I have 2 spaces left, so, come and explore this for yourself…. TIBETAN MEDITATION MANDALA (gilded) painting class on Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm from the 24th July for 5 weeks.   You won’t need any experience, just a willingness to learn and go slowly. I teach art like I teach yoga – we start with the foundations. Not only will you leave with a beautiful artwork, you will have an heirloom piece.

Go to www.jahnehopewilliams.com to see more, and email me to book your spot.

yogafirst2@bigpond.com.

TUESDAYS from 7pm- 9pm         COST $250 for 5 classes – all materials will be provided.    Start Date: 24th July.

There are only 2 spots left available at time of posting this.   By the end of the class you will have a unique image to take home, and frame to put in your own meditation room. Maybe good enough, stunning enough to be an heirloom. No painting experience needed, you will need to be able to sign your own name.

TEACHING TO THE REHAB. AND RECOVERY COMMUNITY

I have had some requests for this course, and I am looking at it in light of what each student needs to move forward. That being said, it will be a very individual learning and planning. Something you would not be able to access in any other course I think.   I am looking forward to passing on what I have learned, and will support these girls every inch of the way. It is a hard course, but it is also a hard yoga.

I will have a scholarship for this course. If you have COMPLETED your 200 hour teacher training course with me, and want to move forward. Please let me know. Please don’t ask if you have not completed the course.

PAINTINGS and THE FOUNDATION

The art show went well, and we even received have some donations towards the Foundation. If you were unable to come to the show, and would like to donate please direct debit any amount to The GitaJaia Yoga Foundation, Commonwealth Bank in Woodend. 063806 10200584. Any amount will help, no matter how small.

This painting, hanging over the fireplace at REDS is spectacular.  It is the unfinished version here – at the show of course it is finished.  Go and take a look.  It talks about Muladhara.   The dark are karma, and you can see the clouds of unknowing.  The white line is CSF, the tiny white orb is the consciousness, the network of dots and the grid is the emotional network that holds us back, seeds waiting to germinate however they do…. and the AUM and lotus in the centre is GOD and the eternal vibration of the universe.

TEA AND TAROT

I started doing this again at the Art Show. I had forgotten how much I like this connection with people. It was great fun, they tell me I am “terribly” accurate and I will be doing more. If you would like a reading please email me and organize a time around my yoga teaching time. yogafirst2@bigpond.com

I have done it for years, but have slowed down over the last 12 months… I will be appearing regularly at REDS in Woodend from Sunday 12th August at 2pm.  If you want to speak to me about the art being exhibited, or come to class, or have your tea leaves done at that time – I am yours.  I am also available to read the tea leaves any other time in the week and weekend when I am not teaching.    The cost of the reading – $85 for about 40 minutes which will encompass a review and one major question.  I also use the tarot in my readings.  Which one?  My own of course – The Revelation tarot.  The photo below.  Recently I found a new printer who updated the printing technique which resulted in a gorgeous silk finish.  This printer also professionally cut the corners, which has made an amazing difference not just to the quality, but also to the time it takes me to prepare a set.

Hope to hear from you soon.  For more information about Tea Leaf Reading go to www.teaandtarot.moonfruit.com  or for any enquiries about yoga or art (or readings)  email me at yogafirst2@bigpond.com.

Why Register with THE AUSTRALASIAN YOGA INSTITUTE?

You trained with us, you are a part of our lineage (or we are a part of yours), Registration supports this. PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION. They change quickly.

REGISTRATION – CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT.

THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE.

We have fallen in line with other organisations and ask people who are registered with us and wish to re-register to do at least one short course in the year as a continuing education requirement. You need to keep up. You can do one of my little courses on ETSY, or someone else’s, doesn’t have to be onerous, just something to keep you on your academic toes so to speak. There are lots of books there to help you in your progress to graduation. If you do your course WITHOUT reading the hypermobility books, you will find your work being questioned.

Good morning,

Just to keep you all in the loop.

My time at The Bentinck is coming to an end, and we are changing the class venues, but not the times.  The Monday morning classes are new.

I am starting the “By donation” yoga classes at The Uniting Church Hall in Woodend  on Monday 6th August.  We will start at 11am then FREE community lunch is at 12 followed by meditation (Yoga Nidra that i used to do at The Bentinck) at 1pm until about 2pm – all BY DONATION.  The next “By Donation” Hatha class  will be held on the following Friday at 3pm.  Please keep in mind that these classes are ALL By Donation.  No need to book – just come in.

Our usual Classes, Monday – 6.30pm, Wednesday – 5.30pm Restorative/6.30pm Hatha,  Friday – Meditation 6.30pm, Saturday – 10am Hatha, 11.30am Philosophy and 12.30 Restorative  will be held at home studio (37 Morris Road in Woodend), and will start on Monday 30th July.

We will soon be starting MUMS+ONE with Charlie, and probably a kids yoga too.

Art Classes will start this Tuesday (tomorrow) at 7pm at The Home Studio.  We will be painting a Tibetan style Meditation Mandala.

The Art Show and Tea-Leaf reading at REDS last weekend was lovely, and has encouraged me to keep painting and to keep reading tea leaves.

Namaste.  Jahne

Good morning faithful yoga students.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE.

This as an alert to let you know that we will be moving many of our public classes back to the Home Studio from the second week in August.  Times not yet finalised.

I have loved the time I have been at The Bentinck.  A wonderful place, but they are re-thinking their client base, and their spaces.  Our tenure will be coming to and end in July, and we will be opening our classes again in the second week of August at the home studio in Morris Road.  Now standing out the front is THE BLUE BUDDHA (the Blue Lady shattered in the cold – 25 years of standing in the front yard finally “finished her off” so to speak).  I haven’t quite finished painting her plinth, but it will be done in the next few days – when the sun comes out.  I have been surprised to learn that some of you stayed away from our classes because of the inclusion of the Bentinck residents.  This will no longer be an issue.

When Jacky comes in on Wednesday we will work out the 10 class pass costs, but the casual will still be $20, which seems to be an average cost across the Shire.

WE do have a new home for our RESTORE AND RECOVER classes for those in recovery from substance abuse and trauma.  These will not be at the Home Studio, and they will be by donation.  I will advise everyone of the venue once we have decided on dates and times.  If you are interested or know of anyone in this predicament (in recovery), please pass our email along.

Have a lovely week.  I look forward to seeing you in class.  Keep in mind that our space is not huge, and it is too cold to spread onto the verandah.  Those who have been to us at The Studio will accomodate our limitations as we did before.  I am looking forward to seeing you all…

We WON’T be doing the 6am classes – remember when you came in PJ’s?  It was fun!

Namaste.  Jahne
