Good afternoon Yogis and friends,

Just a reminder that I will be going to Crusoeden Body in Bendigo on Sunday (2pm to 4pm).  Among other things I will be introducing you to hemp, the miracle plant for the 21st Century, but in so far as I will be available, you can chat with me about yoga matters.  I will be bringing a few examples of product to demonstrate – once you understand what a wonderful gift Shiva gave us (as it says in ancient yoga texts), you will want to incorporate Hemp into your teaching and your life.  Like I have.

Every saturday between 2.30 and 4, I will be holding an open house in the STUDIO for you to come along and learn more about hemp, and how it applies to your yoga (and your life).  I had people coming in then, it seemed to be convenient, so I am making it official.  No appointment needed, just drop in.

Also, our Mt.Macedon Monthly lunch is happening again at 12noon on Friday the 9th August, The Mt.Macedon Hotel.  We always get the table in front of the fire, so no matter what the weather is like, we always feel warm and special.  Please come along – the group is getting bigger which is what I was hoping for when I started it.

I am considering incorporating the various certificates under one heading – THE DIPLOMA of HOLISTIC HEALING .  Some of you have got a long way down the path.  I am writing what I think will be the last certificate to complete the qualification – THE YOGA OF HERBS.  Which covers herbs, essential essences and Bach Flower Essences.  Not just learning about them, but also learning how to make your own..  Even if you only massage and use oils to do this,  this will be helpful, as I have learned that you need to have completed a course on oils, or worked with a mentor,  before an insurance company can cover you..  who knew?

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.  Keep warm.

It’s a wintery day, and I have been in a cooking mood – especially since I have decided that we will start cookery classes at the studio beginning next Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm.

Here is a “Hemp seed, Date and Gingerbread” cake.  My kitchen doesn’t have a regular oven, I do have a microwave, and this 75cent Coles cake mix, with hemp seed milk instead of cows milk, hemp seeds, spices and dried fruit (dates, sultanas and dried apple diced) added – took about 10 minutes to put together, and 6 MINUTES to cook.  I also grease the ring pan and sprinkle with hemp seeds before I put the mix in to cook.  It helps the cake leave the pan easily, and adds another layer of hemp goodness.

I had a slice for afternoon tea, with a small scoop of home made yoghurt.  When I plated up, I sprinkled the cake with more hemp seeds, cinnamon and a little grated chocolate . I have to say it was FANTASTIC.  No calories, of course.

This cake is also spectacular as biscotti.  When it has cooled down, I will cut it in half.  Put that half in the cake tin, and then the other half sliced and cut into fingers, I bake again.  This time in my little French casserole-style oven for approximately 12 minutes,  at about 180fan until it is crisp. I have just one of these fingers with my evening drink .  Because it is crunchy it is very satisfying.  Cake always has me coming back for more – but with biscotti one small,  crunchy piece is enough.

If you just use your microwave to warm your coffee, or defrost food, try making a cake.  It is sooo very easy – and only takes 6 minutes – honestly.

I like easy cooking, and five ingredients…. and this is such a cake.

TUESDAY 30th JULY – 7pm to 9pm

Start Simple.

We will play –  start with Dukkha, Herbal Hemp Dip, Hemp Chia Pudding.. we will learn how Hemp can lengthen your cell longevity,  and seriously change your life.  It is easy and tastes fantastic.  If you are recovering from whatever is going around this can help you build your body back up to better than it was before.  Don’t be part smart!  Kick the bad food habit and find your motivation – make changes that last.

This is not just about easy feeding, this is about ANTI-AGEING without surgery – who wants to look like Jahne Fonda, or Goldie Hawn or many of the actors we see in the news.  Not me.  I want to live well, enjoy my food even have a coffee and the occasional wine (no litres of celery juice for me thank you).  I am alive and welcome each day.

The Dalai Lama said “Every day as I wake up I think I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it”.  Is this you? Your nutrition provides the canvas for your life.  Make it beautiful with Hemp.  Shiva gave it to the world, to help the world, to help you..
