Blog Student News Trainees/Teacher News

Dear Yogis,

ZOOM:
SATURDAY: 12.30 RESTORATIVE YOGA  2pm TAROT MAKING CLASS
SUNDAY: 10am TEACHER TRAINING – THE BHAGAVADGITA.  (all welcome for this class, teacher, trainee or curious)
I think you are all jaded by the continuous lock downs, or just can’t be bothered, because our yoga classes are down a bit from the enthusiasm at the beginning.  The same students who were faithful in class, are faithful on zoom.  Who would have guessed?
When we get back to bums on seats, real class, you may be surprised to find that your studio class is no longer offered and has been swallowed up by zoom students who come every time.  Yoga, like art, has to pay the rent.

FRIDAY EVENING PENDULUM CLASS:  This was fantastic, and we start next week working on our Pendulum Boards which is what the class decided was what was needed and wanted.  If you want a pendulum board ready made, I sell them.. go to   www.firstmountaindowsers.com and click on the Store.     If you want to join this one hour free class, or the Saturday afternoon 2 hour series you will need materials, (and the 2 hour class costs $50 for a series of three classes – if you came to both you would get to work on your project for 3 hours for about $17 per 3 hours a week…affordable – sure..  Let me know you want to join and I will speak to you about this. yogafirst2@bigpond.com

At the risk of being a “schoolmarm”, or a “tough old tart” – Do you think that paying attention to your yoga practice isn’t important? You will somehow catch up? Or that Karma won’t catch up with you?

The yogi looks within and explores his or consciousness at its various levels which include the body as the physical manifestation of the mind.  The experience of one’s body is often seen as the key to the mystical expression of the world. When we are healthy we do not feel any separate parts in our body, but we are aware of it as an integrated whole, and this feeling generates a feeling of well-being and happiness.  The mystic is aware of the wholeness of the entire cosmos which is experienced as an extension of his body.

An old Chinese saying:  “Mystics understand the roots of the Tao and not its branches, and scientists understand the branches of the Tao but not its roots.  Science does not need mysticism and mysticism does not need science, but man needs them both”.

We will be living in a Covid world for some time.  To live in harmony at this present time there are a number of steps we can take…

1.  We need to eat from the earth.  Our food needs to be gathered as close to the source as possible
2.  Being “at One”.  This is about appreciating nature and our fellow beings (and the virus which is also a “Fellow Being”).
3. Respecting the life-force. Treat the planet with humbleness, patience and understanding.
4. Restore pure water and save the oceans –  without which life on planet earth will not be pleasant…
5. Like the Dakota Indians “Live your life thinking of your children’s children.”

SEE YOU ON THE MAT
NAMASTE.  JAHNE

ANYONE CAN USE A PENDULUM

This class (the tarot class also) is based on my lifetime of experiences of dowsing and healing.  My background of course is in yoga, which added to the knowledge I already had of why and how the pendulum works.  You could call it “energy work”.

I spoke to Professor Brian Cox (the AstroPhysicist)  about my work with the pendulum.  He thought I had lost my marbles. I also spoke to The Late Professor Dr.Carl Sagan about this work.  Carl was much kinder and was prepared to understand… My answer to the scientists is to consider the work of Emoto and his book about the memory water, the great leap forward when Motoyama located the meridians electrically,  and the healing possibility unleashed when Hannemann and Bach put together Homeopathic tinctures.  No matter the modality – If it works it works.

I make pendulums, Pendulum Boards and pendulum charts, and they are all on my web sites for you to discover, and to own.

I use my pendulum many times a day.. it helps me choose when faced with number of options, moves me in the direction of success, and generally is a trusted mentor and guide.  This close relationship will not happen if you don’t have patience.

It is like learning a new language.  In the beginning it is difficult, until it becomes second nature, then we just use it.  I was talking to an Admin Assistant in a lawyers office this morning.  She was taking our conversation down in long hand.  Fairly primitive.  I asked her why she did this, and she said she hadn’t been taught shorthand (or hadn’t taken the opportunity because it was too hard).  I learned at school, and I still use it.  In fact when the lawyer heard I knew shorthand he offered me a job.  It is still a valuable skill – not as valuable as knowing the language of the pendulum.

My intention in the classes (Friday at 6.45pm and on Saturdays as 2 as part of the tarot class) is to give an insight about what lies behind dowsing and its application primarily to health, rather than a series of   “do this – do that” type of exercises and demystify dowsing as much as possible.

The truth lies in simplicity and keeping an open mind.

It is one thing to read about the pendulum, it is another thing to take your courage in both hands and experience it for yourself.

For me, dowsing has become an invaluable tool, particularly in the area of health and healing.  Used wisely, it can enormously increase your ability to improve your own health and the health of others.  My life would have been considerably poorer if I had not explored this ancient gift.  Email me if you want to come to the class on Friday and I will send you the zoom ID. – The class  is FREE:  Email me at yogafirst2@bigpond.com

PLEASE MARK DOWN SUNDAY AT 10AM in your diary and make every effort  to join us for the series on The Bhagavadgita.  This week we are going to consider how passages in the Gita and the Bible speak to the one theme. You will enjoy it.  Last Sunday we wandered through the ancient UPANISHADS.  The foundation of yoga and the books which contain the Gita.  If you really want to know what yoga was, and is, you won’t want to miss these.

I have a new dowsing web site – it is functional although still under construction.  If you want to be on the DOWSING email/newsletters list,  PLEASE,   let me know..  www.firstmountaindowsers.com

Dear Yogis,

ZOOM
WEDNESDAY: 12.30 RESTORATIVE, 5.30 RESTORATIVE, 6.45 MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
FRIDAY: 11am ZOOM CAFE, 5.30 YOGA, 6.45 FREE DOWSING/PENDULUM CLASS.

MY EVERYDAY GO-TO.
EVERYDAY I read spiritual books (and the Bible), yes, I meditate and do yoga, but at the same time I use the pendulum.  It is a friend.  I use it to determine the vitamins I need, how many, and when. I use it to decide about planting and changes in the garden, water management in the garden (I am still learning this), finding things, even getting rid of rabbits.  I use it all the time, and have made pendulums and  boards to help me, and to show you.

I have a free PENDULUM CLASS THIS FRIDAY AT 6.45pm on zoom.  If you are interested Email me, I will send you the ID and you can pop in.  I don’t know how long this introductory class will proceed, but let’s give it a try.  If you like it, if you think you can learn something, we will do more.

SUNDAY TEACHER TRAINING;
Isn’t really TEACHER Training, it is training for us all.  I learn from doing the research, making sure the facts are right and the direction is the right one.   There are those among my students (and readers?) who are allergic to the word GOD, but we can’t read the Upanishads (which we have been doing), or the ‘Gita without encountering Him.  I don’t mind what your understanding of this energy is, just that you have an open mind.

This coming Sunday we are going to be looking at chapters in the Bible which speak of the writer’s encounters with God and comparing that with Arjuna and Krsna’s encounter in the ‘Gita.  They are different, but the same.  Come along… not armed to argue, but to learn, which I love to do.  Exchange ideas, dialogue, have a conversation with an open mind.  You can’t read the Gita without encountering God.

For some of you, our Sunday mornings with the Bible and the ‘Gita will be your first encounter with the text, whilst others may have read both frequently.  In either case, our sessions represent an opportunity for beginners and graduates alike.  Because I also am learning and need things to be simple, I will guide you in simple, accessible way to the heart of these books/topics.  I think you will find these sessions engaging, and illuminating.

Please make room for this two hours in your week, I am giving you plenty of time to plan your weekend.

SEE YOU IN CLASS – YOGA, ART OR PENDULUM… AND TEACHER TRAINING.

NAMASTE – JAHNE
