Dear Yogis,

Just a quickie this morning – I am off to organise a new computer.  It’s not that I dislike my old one, its just that my old one is refusing to deal with a few programs…  it’s the cost of business nowadays.  I don’t rent a shop front, but I have to deal with technology.  Can’t be all bad.  I will have a lovely new computer.

Back to masks I think over winter!!!  We have a student or two in class and Church who have covid.  It is always going to be with us I am sure, so take precautions.

Dear Yogis,

Winter is on the way and with it comes the usual aches and pains…

MAKING YOUR OWN MAGNESIUM OIL.

When Magnesium flakes are applied to damp skin you do get an oily effect, but in order to make magnesium “oil” which by its nature is slightly oily to feel when it is used on damp skin, you will need oil to assist the dissolving of the magnesium, and it feels good.

Ingredients
• 1 cup Magnesium Flakes (Flakes in a plastic bag available at Coles – you cannot use these internally – these are not the same as Fauldings Epsom Salts)
• 1 cup Distilled Water
• Essential Oils – just a few drops.  Not too much – it will overwhelm you regular perfume.
• 2 TBL Jojoba Oil or other carrier oil
• 1 Spray Bottle

Instructions
1. Boil your water.
2. Once it is boiled, add in your magnesium flakes.
3. Stir until it is all combined.
4. If adding essential oils, add to the carrier oil, then mix with the magnesium water.
5. Pour into your spray bottle when it has cooled down.

How To Use Your DIY Magnesium Spray For Sleep
About 30 minutes to 1 hour before bed, apply magnesium spray directly to the skin and gently massage until absorbed. It does not matter where you apply magnesium spray, however, I always recommend doing a patch test on a small area to ensure you don’t have any side effects, or skin sensitivities. If using it to help with stress, relaxation, or restful sleep, I recommend applying it to your legs or spraying on your back. It doesn’t really matter where you apply it,  it will get absorbed through the skin actually more efficiently than taking internally.   You should notice positive effects after about a week of regular use.

How To Use Your DIY Magnesium Spray For Pain
Apply your Magnesium Spray directly on the area of concern, I use after a shower whilst my skin is warm and damp.  I recommend doing a patch test on a small area beforehand  to ensure you don’t have any side effects, or skin sensitivities.

You may choose to apply magnesium spray once or twice daily on the “difficult” muscle. You may may find that less frequent application is sufficient.  You should notice positive effects after about a week of regular use.   It’s important to listen to your body and adjust the frequency of magnesium spray application based on how you feel. If you experience any adverse effects or discomfort, discontinue use and consult with a healthcare professional. If you are under a doctors care, pregnant, or taking medication, please be sure to consult with your doctor before using.

How to Store Your DIY Magnesium Spray:  As with all essential oils, keep your spray in a cool, dark area. Don’t leave it out on the counter by a window or in directly sunlight.

Conclusion:   Making your own DIY magnesium spray is a simple and effective way to add this essential mineral into your daily routine, and certainly cheaper and more effective than buying the “made in >>>>>>” concoctions in supermarkets or retail chemists.

Dear Yogis,

What lovely garden weather we have been experiencing, not that I had time to see it.  Once a year we have to volunteer an extra morning at The Mt.Gallery, and last weekend was mine – so I was there on the last Sunday in the month plus  Saturday afternoon to see the portraits (mine included), Sunday morning and will be back there this coming Saturday.  Please catch up with me there, you can see the portraits too.  I may be finished a new bag to exhibit.  Every one I put there I sell, and as they just don’t get my paintings, I should concentrate on bags I guess.  I am not going to be painting galahs or possums!!!

I am going to have an exhibition in my own little gallery.  There will be my work, plus some prints and originals from really good artists – if you wants birds or animals then I will have some for you which will be real investments.

I speak as a sometime Catholic, sometime protestant, and full time yogi.  The ongoing pokes at the Pope and the Vatican recently inVictoria can only re-inforce what was said in the Guardian years ago.   Read “Put the pope in the dock” – an article that came out in the Guardian 14 years ago – written by the fabulous  Legal immunity cannot hold. The Vatican should feel the full weight of international law.

The article was brought out of the vaults and given another airing this week – you might have seen it.  It is worth a second look.  God didn’t create the Vatican, and it should not be revered.
