Dear Yogis,

Well, no matter how we personally feel about it, our home-stay is going to be extended I think.  I was hoping we would be together again in person sooner rather than later, but no, it is back to foraging.  Actually it is a bit too cool to spend much time in the woods and streams however “mother nature” it may make you feel.

The photo on the right is of a painting on a tea bag – one of mine – actually my rendition of a sculpture by Lorenzo showing Mother Nature whirling the earth around.  He sculpted it as a statement about Global Warming but it could just as easily be though of as being about our communities in this difficult time of Covid.

I am sure there will be many businesses, no matter how much money the Government dishes out – which will not be able to survive.  The customers have just gone away.  As yoga teachers we know the feeling.  Yoga has never been considered a necessity!  When the world gets a sniffle, we get pneumonia.  It is like that now for most.  Stay the course. To be a HERO there is only one qualification – JUST SHOW UP.

Monday 1pm Hatha, Monday 6.30 Mary Magdalen
Tuesday 7.30 – CCP Repeat of Sundays Class for CCP and those interested in The Tibetan Book of the Dead. All welcome.

Sunday 10am Tibetan Book of the Dead CCP study unit

AUGUST 22ND EVENT.  I hope we are out of Covid lockdown by the 22nd of the month as I am hoping to have an open house and art/garage sale, with champers and nibbles of course.

A PREDICTION:  This is just a dream (one of those “event” dreams that wake you up), a prediction, a notice from the Ravens and Rainbirds.  I believe a big RAIN weather event is on its way. Unfortunately I can’t yet tell you an accurate forecast, but “spring” will have to do.  Now is the time to get your roof checked, and any other precautions you may need to make.  I have notified my plumber.  This house and its site is very water sensitive and having him check the roof, the drainage, and the tank in the next couple of weeks is the best I can do, as well as make preparations inside the house just in case.  We have been here before..

THE REVELATION TAROT.

We need the tarot at the moment, not as a way to remove our responsibility, but to know where effectively to place it.  How best to use our time.  The photo on the right is the first card in the tarot deck, THE FOOL.  It was the card I drew out today (Sunday is the time of writing), appropriate as I am having to learn new things, and face new situations as you are too.  It is all about FAITH AND TRUST.

The fool asks us these questions.

  • If you knew you couldn’t possibly fail, what would you step towards – what insecurity/fear would you challenge?
  • What does the phrase ‘the wisdom of fools’ mean to you, and how might it apply in this situation?
  • What’s the worst that could happen if you fall (not that you could), and how might that  ‘worst thing’ actually play out as a benefit or advantage in your life?
  • Check.  What resources do you carry with you wherever you go, and which of them could you use right now?

To know more about these Cards(or you could use your own), come to our Tarot Class onFriday nights – it’s FREE!!) and go “Jahne Hope-Williams YouTube” and do out FREE Revelation Tarot Course.  You can purchase a set on www.myyogabooks.etsy.com

CCP GRADUATES:  I now have places for my student to work when they graduate.  I don’t have to go and and search, businesses come to me.  A great place to be.

I will see you on zoom – soon

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

Apart from the poltergeist around my home which I am learning to adjust to, I have had some extraordinary synchronicities.  It happens when you are happy and going in the right direction and I feel that I am, in spite of lock-down which will mean that for a while we are back to ZOOM.  That’s right, the dreaded zoom is back.  Now is the time to hang together – even if it is on zoom.

Talking about synchronicities – my wall furnace died.  For the last two weeks I have been without heating… except for very expensive electricity.  Yesterday  my new plumber (he’s been my go-to for a few years) discovered that the original plumber had not left the required gap between the wall and the unit, had not installed a back plate and there was a charred area about 2ft square about to burst into flame!!!  The flue was wrong, the hole in the ceiling and the roof installation was substandard and so on.  Thank goodness my heater failed otherwise my house would have burned down (worst case scenario I know).  There is a God.  My house is now warm, open, quiet and wonderful.  I feel great.

ZOOM CLASSES (Schedule repeated throughout Lockdown) NO STUDIO CLASSES UNTIL END OF LOCKDOWN
Friday 5.30 Yoga.  Friday 6.45 Tarot Class
Sunday 10am CCP Class – The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Plus)
Monday 1pm Hatha Yoga, Monday 6.30 Mary Magdalen Study
Tuesday 7.30 CCP Repeat (?)  Nothing is exactly a repeat – you can always learn something new.
Wednesday 5.30 Restorative Yoga

PPT PLUS ChiNeiTsang.
For those students who have achieved a PPT Massage qualification with me, there is a step-up that you can do.  Recently in “The Tibetan Book of the Dead”  Study we talked about the “winds” of the body, which are the major focus of Tibetan medicine.  When we do PPT massage we are looking after this aspect of healing,  although we may not have expressed it this way.  We are doing the pulsing, but WHY are we doing it?

I have blended ChiNeiTsang with PPT (I have always used CNT together with PPT), and the lockdown may offer us extra time so that we can consider this – we now have time.   Once things get back to a new normal and we can begin massage….we  can be ready to start introducing our clients to a deeper appreciation and example of our massage therapy.  We can’t learn it in one session… but we can get an understanding to take to our clients after four sessions,  which will include a lesson on marketing.  It is no use learning a new step in our massage if we don’t tell people about it – this is a way to truly be a Compassionate Companion to many.

CNT/PPT is Healing from Within to detoxify, strengthen and restructure the body.   Physical pain is a reflection of inner emotional conflicts. Through ChiNeiTsang/PPT massage we utilise the deep gentle abdominal touch, breathing and meditative techniques to help expand self awareness, quiet inner conflucts, and outgrow our painful selves.

Interested?  Email me (yogafirst2@bigpond.com) and we will organise a time to do some zoom classes.  Saturday mornings at 10am?  Is this a good time on zoom for you?   Then, when this Delta madness is over and after you have done our short course,  you can start your massage up again… and take off running.   As I have said to you before.  There is so much to know.  I have taken every opportunity during these lockdowns to learn more, and to bring more to you, and that has made the lockdowns a very important time I could not have had if life had just gone forward…  I don’t have lockdowns I have STUDY TIME.

WHEN I had children at home, as well as their regular lessons, I  taught them yoga, massage, and anything else I was learning and passionate about and studying.  In this way we all  learned something.  It is how I used to live with my kids, and why they loved being at home with me.

Try it.  You don’t always have to change your life to adjust to their lessons, they can change their life to yours….. learning then is super fun.

SEE YOU ON ZOOM.
NAMASTE. JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

You missed a fantastic CCP meeting yesterday.  One thing came out of it for me.   In order to be a Hero there is only one thing you need to do – SHOW UP.  So – WHERE WERE YOU?

ZOOM SCHEDULE
Friday 6.45pm – Tarot class  Sunday 10am – CCP Class The Tibetan Book of the dead (everything “living as well as dying”).
Monday 6.30 Mary Magdalen

STUDIO
Monday 1pm,  Wednesday 5.30, Friday 5.30

Don’t forget the SALE DAY on the 22nd August between 2 and 4pm.
I will be selling off some massage equipment I no longer use, yoga bits and bobs I don’t use, and lots of art – Tarot Art and Art on TeaBags. You should be able to actually come to the studio and browse by then.  Even if you only want to come and say hi, have a champers and cheese, you will be so welcome after these months of COVID ESTRANGEMENT.

I have written A LITTLE BLACK BOOK OF EVERYTHING.
For a small investment you can protect the things you need to re-build a life no matter what has befallen you.

This book contains lists for everything that would needed by a carer, partner (or even you) in case of your hospitalisation or executor at end-of-life. It would also be a gold-mine in case of sudden crisis like a major fire, bush fire, flood or other catastrophe.  I lost my house in 1983 bushfires, and I know that the insurance assessors at the time swooped in and were able to take advantage of the fact that few of us had lists of what we owned, our assets and other entry points to our lives and property.  If I had a book like this, it would have saved me many months of stress, and thousands of dollars.  If you don’t know what you have you can’t claim it (or find it  – in the case of passwords, codes or reference numbers).

I have been inspired by students who have had great stress on the death of a loved one and the realisation that they know nothing about how to run the financial side of life, or what the partner wanted at end-of-life, except for the big things covered by a Will – which by the way tell you what needs to happen to the assets,  but doesn’t cover passwords etc.  How is the executor going to pay for the funeral (or weekly expenses)  when the bank has frozen the assets – which is routine on the death of a partner until the dust clears?  Do you know what sort of funeral you partner wants, what happens to the pets, insurance passwords???  There is so much to know.

One of my students was so “cared for” that the bank didn’t recognise her and wouldn’t let her near her own accounts on the death of her long time partner.  She was adrift with no passwords, codes, references, signatories.. she knew nothing.  It looks month to rebuild her life and assets during which time she had to rely on relatives and friends for basic support.  It happens.  This is not an isolated case.  What would you do if (like me) the house burned down and you and your children were left with what you are wearing?  Or, what would you do if you partner suddenly and unexpectedly died.  Would you be able to go to your lawyer or accountant and immediately start to rebuild a life?

This booklet isn’t a substitute for a Will.  Somewhere safe you need  1.  a Will,  2.  a medical End-of-Life Directive and 3.  The LITTLE BLACK BOOK of EVERYTHING.  When you have these three things you can more easily build a life going forward no matter what has happened.

This book is available on Etsy as an EBook for download, or you can buy a hard copy.   In this time of covid and stress, this is a very important document, and everyone should have a copy filed close to their will.

CCP CLASS:  We have been looking at all the different ways you can be a Compassionate Companion, what it means, and what it may mean to you, and importantly – What area will you specialise in?  All this whilst still studying the ancient texts, bringing them into the 21st century, making them personal.  If you want to extend your yoga practice into this new area (so needed at the present), then join our course – it’s not too late, you can catch up.

See you on Zoom, or in the Studio.

NAMASTE. JAHNE
