Dear Yogis,

Vale Barry Humphries and Barry Humphries who both died recently.  What will we do without them?  They were both genius in their field.  The only person in the media we really have left from that era is Philip Adams.  Please Philip, don’t give up – We need you!  As an “aside”, there seem to be a number of deaths which happen during or as a result of hip surgery.  Are too many being done, are they practiced on people who are not up to the rigours of this surgery?  There are successes, but then there are a lot of failures, and there seem to be number of deaths.  The stats would be interesting.

THE LUNCHEON:   Don’t forget.  New class on Sunday (make a note in your diary) and THIS SATURDAY coming up is the YOGA LUNCHEON at 1pm at “The Lone Wolf Saloon, High Street, Woodend.

DESIGNER MENDING and Making for the exhibitions……
I have been working hard to keep up with the sewing that is needed.  If you research King Charles, you will see that he is “The Patron Saint of Patches”.  His clothing is always patched and mended.  It appears that he doesn’t keep up with the work needed… but his clothes are worn (by him) until all that is left is the seams.  Even his shoes show repairs on the uppers as well as the soles.

I had a time of great joy on Sunday when my orange jacket was worn to church to great acclaim.  It is not often I see the result of my hard work worn in conspicuous places, and receiving interest and congratulations…  I miss it sitting on my dress form as I could see it whilst I worked.  It didn’t stay there very long I must say, and sold in short time. I did think I would exhibit it, but was overjoyed to get the sale.  One of my clients asked when I was going to do a workshop to show others these skills – easy answer – I AM NOT.  You need patience and passion, and I don’t meet many people with either.

Whilst I complete mending and making  for clients, I am trying to work on pieces for my exhibition in July (Wearable Art Exhibition, Jubilee Hall, 15th July at 1pm to 4).  In order to do the required number  I need to do one item per week.  I have on the drawing board and in various stages of being done….   1. denim shorts, top and jacket, 2. evening ensemble, 3. trousers and top, 4. Japanese styled ensemble and 5. embroidered coat.  All of these repurposed fashion – interesting, trendy.    I always overload myself.

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

I just wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you to those who joined me in my TEA BAG PAINTING  online course. This is the first time I have ever done this and it was a big deal for me. So thank you for being a part of it.    I know I have shared my own progress with you over.. I hope that some of the things I sent out and shared were useful to you even if you didn’t join me in the course this time.
We have done the preparing of the tea bags, and on Monday week at 6.30pm (not this coming Monday) we will be doing the painting.  Please email me if you want to join the painting class on zoom on Monday week.  If you missed the last one – the all important preparation – I could do a zoom one-on-one class if you wanted to catch up with the class you missed – but it would be $25.
Thank you for being a part of my world and following along with my arty adventures.

ANZAC DAY

Another holiday next week, however, there will still be yoga here on Monday and on Wednesday as usual.    I look forward to seeing you – you may have noticed  I don’t take every holiday.  You don’t have a class on Tuesday, so that is easy.

FREE STUDENT REGISTRATION/MEMBERSHIP

From now until the 1st of July, I am offering FREE Student MEMBERSHIP of The Australasian Yoga Institute. FREE.

If you are still working your way through our course, and want to be a part of our Institute officially (yes you will get a number and a discount card that has the potential to save you money), then contact me.  This does not open the door to teaching, it is not a Teacher in Training Registration, this is a student membership.  It will mean that when you start teaching,  insurance will be easier, and you will be able to get Teacher Training Registration easier (before you graduate) and full Registrations as soon as you qualify – this student membership will count towards all Registrations.  For your certificate, send your details to me at YOGAFIRST2@BIGPOND.COM.

CANNABIS

CANNABIS, MARIJUANA, CBD – The magic words.  Although it is still not “legal” in all Australian States except ACT, attitudes are changing and we can see the time approaching when it will be legal even in a limited way, so be first in line with your preparation.  I was hoping that with a new government scrambling for income that they would see that some form of legalising, would have made a difference to the bank balance.  It certainly has overseas.

If you want to be ahead of the pack and be ready for the time when it is coming, then do this course with me.  I have taught it before, and I think just dropping this into the mix will help us all to understand what is in and what is out.

Among other things you will learn *Laws and regulations *Why some doctors say it doesn’t work(?)  * cannabis basics * cannabis as medicine * cannabis cooking and extraction.  And more.

If you are interested please send your details to me at YOGAFIRST2@BIGPOND.COM.
