Dear Yogis,

What an amazing few days/weeks.  Maybe I am just getting old, but the most surprising people are coming back into my life in such a lovely way.

We had a fabulous storm last night complete with dazzling light show and thunder.  The cat was worried and in spite of the heat, retreated to her anxiety bed which was the best Christmas Gift we both have ever received.

TAROT FOR THE VISION IMPAIRED:  I think I have solved all the problems and I am working on the first deck.  I will have to do these to order, but they are the product of quite a long time of experimentation (and failures).   I am sure that people with sight challenges or totally blind will make fabulous tarot readers, not distractions, and these cards will make it possible.

WHATS ON IN THE STUDIO/and elsewhere.

THE WOODEND MONTHLY ART MARKET has its inaugural opening on the 22nd February.  If you want a table, please email me and I will send you the information.

Windarring Yoga –  Kyneton Tues. 1pm.  9.30AM in Gisborne

STUDIO YOGA,  WOODEND:  Open 10th January, at 10am for restorative yoga and then ongoing classes in the following week for the rest of term. Monday 1pm, Wednesday 1pm and Friday 10am

DISABILITY YOGA CLASS (YOGA FOR WHEELIES AND WALKERS) in NORMA RICHARDSON hall, starting 9.30am every Wednesday  by donation. Please arrive close to 9.30 and we will start when we are settled.  I am also considering having a class at home studio – there has to be an alternative for people who for whatever reason either can’t come every week at the same time, or won’t go to St.Mary’s Hall.

I am going to start another class in chair yoga (no wheelchairs possible) at the studio.   By donation, chair and pilates-ring,   breath yoga (pranayama), and meditation/omming.  Just the same as the Wednesday class in the Norma Richardson Hall..

ZOOM YOGA PHILOSOPHY CLASSES AS USUAL :  Mondays, 6.30 as usual.

TEACHER TRAINING MONTHLY CLASS.  Last Sunday in the month at 2.30 at the studio.

ART EQUIPMENT CLASS:  on Sunday February the 9th at 2pm (cost $65) please book.  Only 1 place left.

YOGA MONTHLY LUNCH:  In flux at the moment because of times, dates and a short February.

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Good morning yogis,

Yesterday my neighbours had a large tree removed and another trimmed severely.  I had not realised how much shade they were giving to the yoga room.  I purchased blinds years ago but hadn’t used them because the room became too dark.  Now with the trees down, the blinds are useful, and the room is shaded but not dark with the blinds down.

TAROT:

I am about to embark on the TAROT FOR THE BLIND that I forecast a long time ago.  I have a local person who can help me translate into Braille.  It won’t be a fast job I think, but worthwhile.  Once I have the translated cards etc, I can do a zoom course for people who are blind (or not) and want to know more about the tarot, and become readers.

THE MONTHLY LUNCH:  Because there is a clash between the Monthly yoga lunch and the Woodend Market and the new Woodend Art Market, it has been suggested that I change the date of our lunch. I would like your input please.

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Good morning Yogis –

You know I am a TAROT person/ counsellor/advisor, call it what you will.   If you know that you know that I really resonate with THE HERMIT. The number 9 card, and this year IS THE YEAR OF THE HERMIT. Have you felt it? That quiet nudge? A soft, but steady call inward?

Have you been doing your card a day?  This card is speaking to me so strongly right now. Its message feels so deeply aligned with the moment we’re in, both individually and collectively. 2025 is, after all, the Year of the Hermit. (2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9, and 9 is The Hermit in the Tarot.)   Why would The Hermit suggest that we retreat, when there is SO MUCH to be done?   As I have said to my clients, the Hermit is not about hiding in a cave,  it is about shining our light from the mountain.  We live in the information age, complete with AI and it is more important than ever that we slow down and come back to what we know to be real and true for us.  Remember the Q’ran “Nothing can happen that is not the will of God, Trust that”.

At the moment the world can be overwhelming for me, and it could be the same for you.  I need the Hermit’s light to guide my way. It only takes a step at a time – we don’t need to see the complete picture, just trust that there is one laid out for us (actually we have laid it out for ourselves – karma).  If we accept this then it is just a matter of trusting our inner wisdom, take action even small actions and the way will gradually reveal itself to us.

Shining the light is not just about shining it for others – it is also and most importantly shining it for yourself.
