Dar Yogis,

Mondays is the day I have to face zoom, and I am just sick and tired of the changes each time.  It used to be easy, but now it is just time consuming.  But I have to do it to speak to you all. So I do.

We are getting close to the end of the year and I am so, so busy.  Right now you will find my work at The Mount MacedonGallery and also at Dromkeen (my work will be up next week).  If you haven’t been to Dromkeen, well you have a pleasure in store – it is the home of illustrations from Australian children’s book authors.  Well worth a visit.  They also have a lovely tea room, and do High Teas which have long been my favourite – they also serve alcohol even though the numbers of drinkers is decreasing.

To find Dromkeen, go to Riddells Creek and take the road out of town towards Romsey.  The homestead is well signposted.  Nestled among tall trees, you will love it – it is so old fashioned (Federation style homestead inside and out) and unchanged.  I remember when it was owned by Joyce Oldmeadow, she and her husband started the gallery – luckily she also came to my yoga classes all those years ago and I also taught her botanical illustration to enhance her porcelain painting.

Dear Yogis,

Although the end of the year is fast upon us, I have more folk coming back to yoga – I think that is especially good.  People are once again embracing a more philosophical aspects of yoga – less sweating and lycra.  It is what I have always taught. Mondays is full, there is a couple of vacancies for Wednesday and Friday.

Don’t forget the zoom class on Monday (today at 6.30).

My leg is recovering.  This morning is the first morning I have been able to stand up without deep pain..  like ongoing BIG cramp.  Until midday I have been walking around like a hunchback unable to straighten up.   I have been everywhere for answers.  I know how it started, I know what it complicated, but what to do now was the question.   The osteopath was great but limited by only one skill, I have been to a number of doctors – the last one wanted me to “jump up on a high table and lie on my stomach”.  I told her that if I could do that I wouldn’t have come to see her.

Everyone helped a little, but my acupuncturist has made the biggest difference, and understood the whole picture.  But saying that, every step was necessary for my education!  I do have a drawer full of very high powered narcotics – there is one oxycodone I could only bear 1mg  (I tried once), although one of my students takes 40mg per day!  How they manage to get out of bed I don’t know!   I am saving them for end of life – easier than going out looking for mushrooms.

NEXT YEAR I have four exhibitions booked.  It means that I have to do a heap of miniatures.  I am aiming for one per day.  As I finish them I am loading on instagram and maybe facebook.  If I have some extras each week I will be selling on my etsy site.  www.morrisroadstudio.etsy.com

Before I could start in earnest I had sewing to do.  Two dresses, two blouses, and a pair of earring to mend.  I still haven blouse to finish.  Then I am making silk scarves for christmas presents.  I don’t encourage this, but I was given a heap of gorgeous offcuts, and they called out to me to make scarves.

Dear Yogis,

What a cold one.  I was up on the mountain on Saturday for my turn to mind the Gallery – it was almost snowing and there not many people around.   On Sunday I went to the Focus RoomExhibition in the Mt.Macedon Gallery for Candice.  The work is beautiful.  Please visit.
