GOOD MORNING PRECIOUS ONES

Honouring the Universe – The philosophy of The Australasian Yoga Institute….

Dedicated to a tradition of excellence in teaching for more than 40 years, The Australasian Yoga Institute offers yoga teachers comprehensive and systematic training in classical yoga.  We teach yoga techniques for body, breath, mind and spirit in 200hr and 500hr certification programs.  Our programs include training in meditation, asana.

HI THERE STUDENTS…

REGARDING THE YOGA CLASSES.  I don’t just hold classes because I am an old lady and I get sick of knitting.  No.  I am passionate about yoga, BUT whether we continue to hold a particular class is totally up to YOU.  If you are not committed and consistent we may have to discontinue some classes, maybe the one that (from time to time) suits you.   Your choice.  If we discontinue a class, know it is because YOU DIDN’T TURN UP REGULARLY.  I was always there.   I have lots to do, and it is rarely about knitting.  The classes at $10 per class are a community service, but if you don’t want them then, hey, that’s fine.  I will spend my time writing books, meditating, doing my own yoga….. Teaching people who turn up every class they are booked for.  I am a busy little bee.  The ball is firmly in your court.

TEACHER TRAINING Sunday…

We had a wonderful teacher training day – sorry that a few of you missed it.  We talked about LINEAGE, SEQUENCING AND PRECEPTS.  It was fantastic.

By the way, I think that the lessons are taking hold.  I have put the Teach Yourself yoga books on line at etsy, and those students who have bought a download copy, and then printed from it have sent me the money for the printed copy.

I can’t tell you how happy that makes me, not just the fact that I am being paid for my work (which allows me to help others) , but more importantly that some of you out there now know that if you take something that is not freely given, or use something in a way not intended it is stealing, no matter what justifications you use to make you feel better.

This is yoga in action.  Thank you.

TEACH YOURSELF BOOKS…
“YIN-YOGA”, “RESTORATIVE YOGA” are already up there and ready for you, AND IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO “YIN4KIDS”, and then  “YOGA FOR PEOPLE IN PAIN” (that may not be the exact title, but that will be the message).

I am loving writing these condensed versions of the huge tomes you find on the shelves, and the lengthy teacher training courses.  Of course, if you want to teach the public using the ideas I have given in these books, you will need to be a trained (or training)  yoga teacher, health professional  or fitness expert first.  But, once you have the basics, the foundations, you can use the ideas in these books to add to your knowledge and expand your skills.

The courses in these booklets are complete with descriptions, class plan,  background, embellishments – everything you will need to develop a class of your own.  The cost is $45 for each booklet,  and if you want a certificate you can do the exam attached, and if you pass, I will send you a certificate.  There is a charge for the certificate and exam, however, it will save you having to do a long and expensive course which, if you have already qualified and graduated as a yoga teacher (or are on the way) is probably over-kill don’t you think? And you will have all the tools you need to extend your  yoga classes, and add a new skill for under $200.

Lee said…..I felt like the manual gave me confidence to be able to mimic the class and gave me a clearer understanding of the principals of Yin Yoga. I really enjoyed it Jahne and i got something out of it which i will continue to do so as well. So as you said in the manual “i have written this book for you so i hope it will be useful” – and it is, so thank you very much Jahne!”

www.myyogabooks.etsy.com   “RESTORATIVE YOGA” HAS BEEN LOADED.  “YIN4KIDS” is the next booklet, I am working on it at the moment, loading this week…   just have to get the printing of the asanas done..

ARE THERE ANY BOOKLET TOPICS YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO WRITE ABOUT?

MEDITATION

How do people manage without meditation?  I just don’t know.   I do it every day, and I am in love with it.  It has made such a difference to my life almost from the first time I SERIOUSLY TOOK UP THE PRACTICE.  Like my yoga practice, it is not about just doing it when it is convenient, but making my life move around those times.   I get questions answered, prompts about direction, love and care every day.  I am in love with God.  I don’t have to think about it, I just know it is constant.  God thinks that I am the best Jahne He ever made, just as he thinks you are the best….. He ever made.  Even though there are many millions of beings on earth and in the universe, I can still be known and loved individually 24/7, as can you.

I know it doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t seem real, but it is the most real thing we can know and the best thing we can do in our life.  We all have problems, grieving, difficulties, I do too.  We all have to deal with those people who treat you in unexpectedly cruel ways – people you have loved and cared about, people you have gone the extra mile for,   people you have loved who treat you in ways you can’t explain even to your inner self.   Those who have been divorced (and certainly parents)  know that the people who know you the best can hurt you the most..

How to live and breathe and love when this happens without striking back, getting angry?  Meditation.  Nothing else makes sense anymore.  There is only one person you can deal with and that is yourself.  By constantly loving and dealing with the pain in yourself, you can change others…  you cannot change others first and by doing that change yourself.  Well, if you think you can, it usually is an illusion which plays out in time.

Trust me, I tried that very early on and it doesn’t work.  I have seen many many other people try it too.  Their experience was the same as mine.    For success, change yourself first, love yourself, come to peace within yourself, and when you do that the Universe around you will change.  There is no other way and meditation will get you there the quickest.

YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley

This is one of my major sources and fits beautifully with the course we have put together.   BUY ALL THREE.  You will never regret it.   They are the best and will form the backbone of your yoga references.  Don’t hold back it will be false economy.   As I have told you before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each.  I thought that this was a good investment.  I think half that is a steal! And that is what we are selling this for www.yogabeautiful.com.au

A BOWL full of  SOUL

Have you tried BOWL OF SOUL.   The organic, whole food version of that which is cooked by a fantastic member of our yoga community Bec Cassar now living in Kinglake.  She cooks and delivers a weeks worth of meals to the Gourmet Whole Food  Store in Woodend ( next to Village Larder) and you collect from there.

The average cost seems to be $13.50 per meal..  I am going to give the service a weeks trial and will give you the results of the taste test, but knowing Bec, they will be “above and beyond” expectations.  AND, Bec is going to donate a percentage from every bowl of her Lentil meals to our GitaJaia Yoga Foundation , with a little tag on the front of the meal to advertise the fact.

I don’t often give adverts, but one is required here.  BOWL full of  SOUL – Phone: 0431 697 613. “Bowl full of Soul” is also on Face book, and that is where you will find the menus.

INJURIES

Nicole as you may have experienced, has injured herself she says doing cartwheels with her boys.  This is what it looks like, but is rarely the case.  An injury is the last thing in a line of “hellos” the body has been trying to bring to you and you have ignored.   With a muscle injury as simple as Nicole’s?   Well she has been working super hard, travelled overseas, got over-tired, and  taken on new ventures.  Has she upped her protein, her overall nutrition to replace what she has used (not pills, food!), has she paid attention to sleep, rest periods and meditation?  Recovery?  Probably not.  When she returned she tried to hit the ground running.

I am not singling Nicole out here.  We all do it.  The back injury, foot injury, tummy pains, whatever.  If you look carefully and honestly at the lifestyle, you will see that there have been a number of insults to the body which we have by-passed.   Look closely, learn about yourself.  It doesn’t mean you won’t ever have injuries or illness, but it does mean that you will more accurately be able to pinpoint the cause.  It is not about  just what happened last….  That is the point where the body REALLY got your attention, and it is saying to you “now work on the cause, not just the symptom”.

THE GARDEN…

Great news, I have 6 pots of nettles, and I harvested the first of them for my lunch today.  I know you don’t believe me, but I have tried every which way to grow nettles, and now I have them in pots in their original soil from their transplanted home, and they are thriving.  They just don’t like my soil.  It  is a lesson, and I have learned it….  I am working on increasing the health of my garden soil generally.  When I can grow nettles, I will know then that my soil will be lovely and rich, instead of the obviously nutritionally depleted state it is in at the moment….  The nettles are a pointer.

What do I do with nettles.  Well, they are super rich in iron and calcium, and I cook and eat them.  Even after cooking they are emerald green and beautiful.  I put them in soups, and generally treat them like a green vegetable.  You have to cook or freeze them to get rid of the stringing nematodes, but I can assure you, they are very tasty.

When the children were small, I used to make a white potato soup with butter eggs cream and cheese in the soup, then with a beautiful rich nettle puree I would write their names across the top of the soup.  The kids called this kindergarten special, and it was a favourite meal.  They never grumbled about the greens.

REGISTRATION/INSURANCE www.yogabeautiful.com.au

We are giving you total choice now, although it may be a bit more expensive…..

REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE HAVE BEEN UNCOUPLED.  YOU CAN BUY THEM SEPARATELY.  A DEARER OPTION, BUT IT SEEMS THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT.  WE AIM TO PLEASE.

YOUR TEACHER TRAINING YEAR (or so):

Signing up for a course – our course included, is like buying a car.  You can’t buy it, take it for one run, leave it in the garage and a year later go back to the dealer and ask for your money back.  It doesn’t work like that.  If you are on the course, you are on the course until you write and let us know that you are not.  If twelve months and more have elapsed with no contact in spite of all our newsletters, etc…. then you have (as far as we are concerned) been on the course for 12 months.

If you are a trainee Yoga Teacher who has been working on the course for more than a year please understand that your course fee only gives you FREE classes with me for your first training year – the first 12 months only.  Imagine if what would happen to our Institute if  you took three years to finish your course and you could still come to classes free for the entire course.  We do our fee calculation based on 12 months of free yoga classes.   Your training fees cover you for a year, after that we ask you to pay $10 per class.

I have found  if you paddle your boat it is easier to maintain the illusion of control, but I tell you it is so much more fun if you pull the oars in and just let the river take you where it will….

TAKE CLASSES WITH JAHNE ANYWHERE, ANY TIME.
VIDEOS:  THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL – THEY ARE NECESSARY! Only $275 per annum.

NEW TEACHERS…BEFORE YOU START THE COURSE PROPERLY LOOK THROUGH THE VIDEOS.I can’t stress this enough.   Please look down the list of the videos before you try to do stick drawings, or organise your journal.   NOTE WELL:  hey are not in order.  The do not match up with the modules and they were not designed to do that.  You are yogis doing a course.  You do not need the trainer wheels.    Get a feeling for how they are set up, what’s where.  It will save you heaps of time later on.  There are stick figures, respiration, philosophy, how to teach….even the garden is there.  You will love them, but you have to get to know them – it’s not just about asanas.  My various hair incarnations alone will keep you interested!

CONSULTS WITH JAHNE

If your question is a lifestyle issue, a domestic issue, or a personal issue and you want personal advice (counselling), even hypnotherapy….then there is a charge.  Her service is professional and there is an hourly rate. Please enquire before you decide to make a booking.  Teacher Training issues at the moment are part of the course, and cost nothing – but you need to make an appointment.   Please, respect Jahne’s 50 years of teaching and training. Her time is valuable, she is always teaching, studying or working with her students – it is all a matter of energy and exchange.  We are a Sangha.   Thank you.

FIONA AND ME….

Fiona,  will be taking over a lot of the admin will be in the office on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays…  Just from 1 till 3pm each day until she learns the ropes.  There is a lot to learn.  She is a trained yoga teacher, and is doing our course as well, just so she can help you.

Mostly you will be dealing with me.  I am having a lovely time getting close to all my students after years of leaving you all in Debbie’s hands.  If you have a course question, truly, I am the only one absolutely qualified to answer you. If I don’t answer right away, be patient and call back.  Ring 0402 088 170 – my personal mobile, or the office phone 0354 273 518 which is often patched through to my phone.  Email?   yogafirst2@bigpond.com  and email 24/7, it’s the most reliable.  If you want to know anything about your course..if you have problems, concerns,  then email me.  As I have said.  Be patient.  We are working hard to streamline the workings of the office… so that any one of us will know exactly where you are and how best to help.

THE LAST WORD: I try to imagine life without being able to speak to God, but none of the days without that special energy have the same laughter, or opportunities…..

Ooch.  Some of you didn’t like the request to be committed.  You can’t get the benefits of yoga by thinking about it, or coming when the weather is good (I rarely if ever hold yoga outdoors in the rain).  Plus it is not virtual.  And if you don’t come to class, and others don’t come to class, don’t grumble if we take your class off the menu.  It is about loving yoga – not doing it because you think you should.  I have been teaching for more than 50 years and not because I thought I should, but because I LOVE IT, STILL.  I still get excited standing in front of a class.

One of my long time yoga students is a Consierge at the Grand Hyatt in Collins Street.  In uniform or mucking around on the weekend always manages  to look fantastic, and “appropriate”!  She tells a lot of funny and sometimes heartbreaking tales, but the thing that always astounds me is the level of service that she tries to give her clients.  If they want a photo of James Bond and roses, she will get them, special brands of beer, front row at the opera or  airfares when everything seems booked out.  Not a problem.  She doesn’t get paid extra for these things, but she gets a special feeling of achievement when she does.  Her clients go to the Grand Hyatt because she is there, she is looking after them.

It occurred to me that’s how we should all be in our business.  DIAMOND SERVICE it used to be called in the day.  Going that extra mile for our clients.  Thinking what can we do, what can we add to make their yoga experience truly memorable, and when we do that we will never have to worry about getting clients.  They will be there.

The lady who taught me past life regression, Dolores Cannon, was a hypnotherapist who gave diamond service.  When she died last year, she had a 16 year waiting list.  No that wasn’t a typo – 16 year waiting list. How long is your waiting list?  What are you doing for your clients.  How are you bringing them back…

TEACHER TRAINING 1st Sunday in June, 2pm to 5.30pm

The next will be on the 1st Sunday in June at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room, enter through Romsey Road only.  Please join us.   If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10.  If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are a visitor and not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20.

Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things.

I am loving writing these condensed versions of the huge tomes you find on the shelves.

If you want to do workshops, but don’t feel confident that you know enough –  then use these books as the foundation.  Everyone buys a book, comes to the workshop.  You do a class, embellish it with things you like to do, add diet, meditation…  you could easily have a one day or two day work shop based on one of these books.  Should be good, and a whole lot easier than starting from scratch.  Plus, your students can decide to get a certificate at the end from  me if they want that.  It all helps.  I will put up a tentative workshop plan on the blog www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com

“YOGA FOR PREGNANCY”, THE FIVE TIBETANS” , AND “YOGA FOR PAIN CONTROL” ARE IN THE PIPELINE.

These are all topics that you could base a workshop around…..

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – “AYI YOGA UNIVERSITY”

READING:  I read “Autobiography of a Yogi” for the umpteenth time this week.  What a fabulous book.  I always get something new out of it.  If you haven’t read it, you must.  There are things to be learned on every page.  I am starting at the beginning and doing it again, that’s how much I loved it!!!

THE GARDEN…

I am harvesting almost every day from the nettle pots which is giving the parsley and other greens a bit of a holiday and a chance to recoup.  I had the most wonderful day on Thursday last sitting in the sun, and on Mothers day sitting in the verandah, dry and warm whilst it rained.  I loved it.  I have made it into a great outdoor room.  Warm and protected.  You will see for yourself when you come for the art show..  In June (the 10th).  I am renovating the Buddha Walk, but I think the fences will be beyond me.  Leave those for next time.

NEW TEACHERS…BEFORE YOU START THE COURSE PROPERLY LOOK THROUGH THE VIDEOS. I can’t stress this enough.

Fiona has bee taking more and more of the office work up, and my goodness – she is a neat freak like me.  The office is spotless, totally organised.  Not a piece of paper out of place,  I love it.  Of course, it will take her a while before she has the knowledge of you and your particular needs that Deb had, but she is energetic, and enthusiastic so I am sure she will get there.  Please be patient with us both.  I am on a pretty steep learning curve too.

When I considered succession planning etc, and spoke to my daughter about her taking the reins, she told me just to write everything down on a piece of paper and she would attend to it!  I am sure you all understand that there is a whole lot more to it than that!  It takes months to find out where everything fits, and to get to know you all so that when you ring we don’t sound like complete idiots!

Mostly you will be dealing with me.  I am having a lovely time getting close to all my students after years of leaving you all in Debbie’s hands.  Right at this moment, if you have a question about your course (until Fiona gets up to speed), truly, I am the only one absolutely qualified to answer you. Be patient.  We are working hard to be the best we can be.

THE LAST WORD: I try to imagine life without being able to speak to God, but none of the days without that special energy have the same laughter, or opportunities…..

GOOD MORNING PRECIOUS ONES  Honouring the Universe – The philosophy of The Australasian Yoga Institute….

THE YAMAS –
I cannot stress these too much how important these are.
I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THEM. NOTHING WORKS, NOTHING WORKS, IF THESE ARE NOT IN PLACE IN YOUR LIFE
.
If you come to me to be registered in our organisation (and baby,  it is growing and is going to take some BIG leaps)  and you haven’t done the yamas, guess what, you will have to do a workshop and an exam…..  For me, the philosophy of yoga is the most important.  There is NOTHING more important.      We start there I have never liked the (Christian) “Thou Shalt Not” approach and am trying out a new one.

“Just for today I will not kill thoughts, hopes, aspirations,  confidence.  I will not kill.”
“Just for today I will work on telling the truth”
“Just for today I will work on not stealing”
“Just for today I will work on respecting all people and all things”
“Just for today I will work on not taking more of anything than what I need”.

Next TT Sunday 10th January 2pm to 4pm.  Please mark it in your diary…..
Our class yesterday was wonderful, thank you girls for turning up.  We did talk about Bhakti, Reincarnation and Karma.  It was so good.

“Everything will change for you when you work out that there is plenty of time in every day to complete the important things”.

THE BHAGAVADGITA
One of my projects over Christmas is to work out the best way to record the Gita with a bit of a commentary according to me!  I want to put it on preferably an MP3.  I am not sure the best/easiest way to look at this and do it for you, but be sure that I am working on it.

YOUR PENDULUM
For years now I have taken my pendulum seriously.

In order to learn more about the energies from a 21st century standpoint I emailed and facebooked Brian Cox.  I thought he would be the one who would know.  In actual fact he was most unhelpful and closed minded.  When you see him looking wide eyed at the universe on the telly, I can assure you from my experience that it must be an act.   There was no wide eyed wonder in this boy.  I seemed to me there is only one person in that universe who knows how it works, and as far as he can tell it is him.   He treated me like I was a female idiot, and passed me on to other people who did the same.  So don’t go there.

As far as I am concerned the pendulum is my friend.  It will tell me how things are.  Now if I believe that the energy comes from God, myself or little green men, it doesn’t make any difference to the result.  It still works for me.
I always tell the story of a friend of mine who built himself up from a small person who sold vitamins in the mail to a wealthy wealthy man who at one time had a few million dollar houses in his portfolio, and all of this by learning to talk to his pendulum.  He had one on his key ring, and if you saw him making a decision you would of thought he was fiddling with his keys, but no, he was talking to his pendulum.  Like I said.  It makes no difference to me where that conversation originates, I know for myself that it is a higher power, and the results are to be trusted.  Try it.  Those of my students who have persisted with patience and have developed a rapport will tell you it works.

GIFTS:
Christmas is coming, so don’t forget that we have some lovely yoga things in our shop.  If you want CD’s, a swing, bands, books, the tarot…. You will be buying something encouraging for your yoga friends, and supporting us.

*RESTORATIVE YOGA
Just in case you thought it was just for old people, have a look at this picture of Maia Manning.  She has recently started coming with her mum and loves it.

NOA BELLING – YOGA HANDBOOK.  PLEASE…..WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!
We are still asking for your help. I wondered if any of you out there had finished with their book and would like to sell it back to us, WE WOULD LOVE TO BUY IT OFF YOU.  We can get it secondhand from time to time for $25 to $30.  We will buy yours off you for $25 plus whatever is the postage cost.  Email us if you would like to sell yours, and Deb will call you to organise.  yogafirst2@bigpond.com

DISTANCE ED TEACHER TRAINING PAYMENTS
If you are a trainee, and you are distance ed student then please plan ahead.

I know it is christmas and you may be having second thoughts about who you will pay and who you won’t this Christmas so you can buy extra stuff, BUT remember the Yamas.  Make provision for your teacher Training Payments.  You made an agreement to pay a certain amount in a certain time.  If you think it doesn’t matter, think again.  We all have children and we all have responsibilities.  How you meet those responsibilities shows the sort of teacher you will make.  Karma (like rust) never sleeps.

If you don’t pay your bills, the others who rely on you,  can’t pay theirs.  In the yamas not meeting your obligations falls under “stealing” and also “Ahimsa” and maybe even “telling the truth”.  Patanjali did say if you paid attention to Ahimsa, everything else would fall into place.

NEW CLASSES
Please note the three new classes above.  Yes it’s close to the end of the year, but we will be working up to the 23rd of December, so there is plenty of time to come to yoga.  It isn’t Christmas Day tomorrow (even though it may feel like that in the Supermarket).

*Brad is not well at the moment, and we have other teachers who have volunteered their time to take his place (thank you).

*RESTORATIVE YOGA (all classes with with Jahne) is a beautiful, gentle yoga which is done using lots of props and lots of time.  No balancing, no headstands, nothing but gentle stretches and rests.  You and/or a friend will love it especially if you have had surgery, are anxious, haven’t exercised for years, have a weight problem, or have a neurological problem.  It is also a PERFECT pre and postnatal session – if you are pregnant, please get a  doctors certificate and bring it to your first class – not because I think you are unwell, but as it is an insurance requirement.

THE CLASSES:  If you are wondering what level to join here’s a clue.  The General class is a more vigorous class, the Restorative is a very gentle class and Yin Yoga lies between the two.  If you haven’t done yoga for a long time, you may like to start with Restorative, move on the Yin and then take your pick of the general classes.
“The Bentinck” is on the corner of the Romsey Road and the High Street in Woodend.  Enter from  the start of the Romsey Road only.

PARKING:
No matter which class you come to – as you enter the Romsey Road gate, Yoga parking is either to the left or the right of the gate – on the inside of the gate .  If that is full, then the space over the road is always available.  PLEASE DON’T park in the central space – even it is empty and you are late, this is for Innisfree staff coming and going.

There is no need to park on the road if there is room inside the gate to the right or to the left, and a huge space available just across the road if all is full inside.  Please do not go to the front of the building in Carlisle St.  That is for residents.

www.yogabeautiful.com.au  If you are looking for any changes in times and days, then please go to the web site.  You will find everything there. There is also our blog  www.ministryofyoga.blogspot.com.au

What you are may sometimes miss the mark,  a prisoner in liberty.
Get up somehow, get clean right now and be a happy, happy child set free.

NEXT TEACHER TRAINING CLASS  The next will be Sunday 10th January at the Bentinck – in the Yoga Room.  Please join us.  If you are a distance ed. student then the cost of the afternoon is $10   If you are a visitor you are most welcome – and if you are not formally a student teacher with us then the cost is $20.

NEW: SPIRITUAL YOGA CLASS
Mondays at 1.45, followed by meditation 2.30 to 3.30.
Please bring an open mind – this is a ‘ guided’ class.  We will be exercising the muscle between the ears (the brain).  Do come along….  No children please.   I love children in yoga but this particular class is not appropriate for children.

THE ROSARY (or MALA). Seems quite a few of you are taking my advice and making mala beads.
This is a much maligned and underused item in a yoga persons repertoire of tools.  Just think of them as an aid to meditation.

When you make a mala, sort out a prayer or a song that takes three minutes.  Divide the mala’s beads into three section of maybe seven small beads  with a large bead between each section.  Then as you meditate (and only if you have trouble concentrating with any other method, or like to do it during the day, or when out walking) you will know when you have done the three minutes by the sections.  You just go over and over the beads section by section as you walk and repeat your prayer.   PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – “JAHNE’S YOGA UNIVERSITY” Within our school there are three levels of YOGA TEACHER TRAINING, plus a course in the Gita, the fundamental source of all yoga teaching through the ages.

*THE BHAGAVADGITA (and YOGA PHILOSOPHY) which is like a Certificate or Diploma Level,  RYTA 200/350 which is our “degree course”  and     *RYTA500 the “masters”.
1.   THE BHAGAVADGITA (YOGIC PHILOSOPHY)
2.    RYTA200 –  THE BASIC YOGA COURSE
3.    RYTA350 – COURSE ACCREDITED BY YOGA AUSTRALIA
4.    RYTA500 – THE NEXT STEP
5.    RESTORATIVE YOGA

Most people have never met, and don’t understand, that there are angels all around us whose only job is to make sure that you don’t get too comfortable, fall asleep and miss the important moments (and gifts) in your life.

THE GITAJAIA YOGA FOUNDATION: Not only will this assist us to help others, it will be a registered charity – or that is what we are working towards.  Then all donations will be tax deductible.  What a good thing!

THE SHOP and ETSY  www.myyogabooks.etsy.com As usual we are ahead of the pack.  Colouring books are the new big thing, and we have had our colouring-in posters available for a long time now.
This week I received an email from one of our students who had purchased the chakras and colouring book and REALISED THAT COLOURING THE DRAWINGS  WAS A MEDITATION.  I celebrated.  It has taken a year for a student to understand the reason for the drawings. THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! THANK YOU……!!!
ALL OUR IN-HOUSE DVD’S AND CD’S ARE AVAILABLE AT THIS SITE.  Please remember that they are not flashy high cost productions.  They are made by Deb and me to answer your various questions.  They are useful in your course.
*YIN YOGA, THE ANATOMY AND THE CHAKRAS all by Paul  Grilley *THE YAMAS  *THE UN-MEDITATION COURSE  *YOGA SWINGS *THE REVELATION TAROT *HOW-TO STUDY YOGA BY DISTANCE EDUCATION – A BOOKLET….. *THE CHAKRAS – A COLOURING-IN BOOK and a REFERENCE BOOKLET -*CHAKRA BOOKLET
*ETERNITY THE PRAYER

I move with the infinite in nature’s power.  I hold the fire of the soul.  I hold the life and healing”. (Rig Veda)

REGISTRATION/INSURANCE www.yogabeautiful.com.au We are giving you total choice now, although it may be a bit more expensive…..
REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE HAVE BEEN UNCOUPLED.  YOU CAN BUY THEM SEPARATELY.  A DEARER OPTION, BUT IT SEEMS THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT.  WE AIM TO PLEASE.

YOUR TEACHER TRAINING YEAR (or so): If you are a trainee Yoga Teacher who has been working on the course for more than a year please understand that your course fee only gives you FREE classes with me for your first training year – the first 12 months only.     Imagine if what would happen to our Institute if  you took three years to finish your course and you could still come to classes free for the entire course.  We do our fee calculation based on 12 months of free yoga classes.   Your training fees cover you for a year, after that we ask you to pay $10 per class.

Also, just signing up and not sending in any modules means you are not really a trainee yoga teacher, and unless we receive regular communication (even if it isn’t modules), at a certain point we will deem that you have disconnected from us, and we will disconnect from you.  And, coming to class with no intention of completing the course just to get the cheaper, easier student insurance, and free classes isn’t exactly living the yamas!  Sooner or later we will call your bluff.

I have found  if you paddle your boat it is easier to maintain the illusion of control, but I tell you it is so much more fun if you pull the oars in and just let the river take you where it will….

VIDEOS:  THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL – THEY ARE NECESSARY! Only $275 per annum. Please look down the list of the videos before you try to do stick drawings, or organise your journal.  I have shown you what I recommend..  All you have to do is download.  I even did a video on ‘The Gita.  Good feedback thus far – thank you.      Please.  Email us and Debbie will make sure that you are logged in promptly. OH YES, IF YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE SUBSCRIPTION, THEN PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS.  IF YOUR NAME IS NOT EDGAR CAYCE THEN YOU CAN’T LEARN WHAT IS ON THE TAPE FROM SLEEPING WITH YOUR COMPUTER! yogafirst2@bigpond.com
GARDENING WITH BENEFITS I realised the other day that the reason that my garden is not as lush as usual is because for the past few years one of my students has been bringing me bags of horse poop to spread around.  She delivered it, I spread it around and really didn’t pay attention.  But this year for whatever reason she hasn’t made the usual delivery and I haven’t noticed.  Boy, has it made a difference to the leafing and size of fruit.  Once I realised that I went around with the blood and bone, and I can see that the second harvest has been remediated.  Thank goodness.

COOKING WITH JAHNE
It is not only vine leaf time as I stated in the last news, it is also berry time, and my garden is bursting as I hope that yours is.  Every morning I go around and get about half a kilo plus of berries.  Most I put in the freezer but some go into my smoothies.  It gives the greens a rest.  You can have a garden like mine, even if you do it on a verandah.  A friend of mine who moved a lot had his whole garden in containers and pots and they moved with him.  Even trees in double pots (one on top of the other).  It was amazing.

Think YIN YOGA/ANATOMY/MEDITATION DVD’s – all with Paul Grilley…before when I bought mine they cost $100 or so each.  I thought that this was a good investment.  I think half that is a steal! And that is what we are selling this. www.yogabeautiful.com.au

PAST LIFE THERAPY DURING THE CHRISTMAS BREAK
If you want a Past Life appointment I will be around.  Please keep in mind it will take about 2 hours, maybe a bit more (or less)  I don’t like to feel a time restriction.  There are some Sundays available Between now and the New year, Fridays, and Tuesday afternoons also are possible given the time frame needed.  If you have a problem you have been wanting resolved, this maybe a lovely Christmas gift to yourself.  You will need to speak to me first if I don’t know you to determine a time frame.  Email in the first instance to yogafirst2@bigpond.com

ATTENTION PLEASE:  WE are so close to the end of the year, if you want an appointment make it now.  There are not many vacancies.

REGARDING DEBBIE If you want to speak to Debbie about any aspect of the courses – she has done them, please remember that she only comes in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On those days she is available on Ph: 0354 273 518.  I am always here, and available preferably on email or text because I teach and am not always at my desk.  Don’t hesitate to email me and I will answer your email or text as soon as I can.

THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS – Please note

THE LAST WORD: I try to imagine life without being able to speak to God, but none of the days without that special energy have the same laughter, or opportunities…..
