Blog Student News Trainees/Teacher News

We had a fabulous teacher training day today, and one of our students brought a BUNYA NUT for each of us.  Keeping in mind that the nut is the size of a big pineapple, it was quite a gifI am exploring different ways to use the nut, although I am told Bunya pesto is terrific.  I am working towards that so will let you know.

This photo above is of (half) the bunya nut.  I put a wine bottle in there so you would have an idea of scale.  It is big.  The nuts are the size of large walnuts, and the whole Bunya Nut is the size of a large pineapple as I said above.  And with spikes.

I am busy making RoseHip wine,  The Bunya into pesto, Walnuts into pickled walnuts and walnut sauce, mead, kombucha and Rhumtopf (vodka/brandy topf”).  I also made Hare Rillette – hare cooked, shredded and preserved in spices and fat.  They will all be in my new cookery book, which I am thinking of publishing a chapter at a time so you don’t have to wait.

I am making new pendulums, and pendulum boards.  They are beautiful.  You can have a board made especially for you.

And, I have received a new shipment of our good oil.  CBD is of course illegal for human consumption which is probably why 50ml costs $75 from me and $700+ from  the medicos…  There are quite a few happy puppies around town, even my cat is happy and relaxed.

Hope to see you in class.  Please get onto the YouTube videos and Etsy www.myyogabooks.etsy.com.  There is lots new to see.

Hi Yoga Homesteaders,

It is like “The Little House on the Prairie” around here – winter is on the way, and I am getting ready.  I have pickled green walnuts, walnut sauce, carrot marmalade, quince marmalade, mead, various alcoholic fruit concoctions, and I have done a video on how to make KOMBUCHA – and showing the other things as well…  My mother had a still in the laundry and made brandy from rice and dried fruit!  I would love one… anyone there with a spare?  I do have a cookbook on ETSY – “Rose Petal Jam”.  Download it, it has everything from fruit teas to floor polish.  I am working on another.

Teacher Training tomorrow (Sunday – and you can see my products).  If you are going to make things, remember to save your glass bottles and jars.  It seems logical step I know, but some folk don’t make that creative leap!  Thanks to Caroline supplying me with a box of uniform sized small jars, plus the bottles and jars from my kitchen it will be a while until I have to buy glass.  What’s the use of saving money on making these lovely items, if it costs you money to bottle the goods!

See you tomorrow.  Don’t forget the videos….there are some new pendulum videos there as well, and I will have pendulums on ETSY shortly (I will attempt this weekend)..

Namaste, Jahne.

Hi there Yogis.

It is probably my last call out to remind you that our lunch is on this Friday (the 28th) at Mt.Macedon Hotel.  12.30.    Please make the effort to join us.  Lots of you have asked when it is, and I hope that all who asked will come along, and more.  It is always wonderful to sit down with a group of yogis, and just chat.

SEEDS.  The weather is tropical, fantastic for the plants, and I have found a fantastic seed company.  The seeds are approximately $1 per packet, and the girls who use them say that they are very reliable i.e. the seeds actually sprout (many commercial ones are hit-and-miss).  They keep the prices low by not spending heaps on packaging, but as long as we have the seeds and they work, we don’t need glossy pictures – they do have a great web site.  WWW.THESEEDCOLLECTION.COM.AU

TAROT/PENDULUM:  I have been regularly putting videos on the YouTube.  Please go to “dowsing” playlist to see the pendulum work.  I have just finished a new pendulum board.  It began when the client came for a past life experience.  I painted an image of where she has been, and then I have painted the pendulum board on top.  It is very personal, and quite lovely.  Rather like the Angel Pendulum Board.  If you go to the You Tube, you will see it there.

Have a lovely wet evening – we are.  After and anxious Christmas, it is my definition of a great day.
