Dear Yogis,

What a fabulous Christmas!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too.  Apart from the Drop-in-Day nothing was really planned.  I just let it be what it needed to be. I am learning to do this.

Yesterday was very surprising.  Life becomes what it is meant to be when we leave things in God’s hands. I had a typical Boxing Day lunch after a long, long walk.  Then a sing-song a round the pianola – nothing you would like I think, Joplin, the songs of the 1940’s (Astaire and Rogers).  I have promised that next time I will wear chiffon and dance,  all I need to do first is find Fred.  Later we had a recital around a beautiful concert Grand Piano – and I met Tilly, the Being which accompanies (inhabits) this beautiful and very old instrument.

The day wasn’t over even then, we walked around one of the old Mt.Macedon Gardens, green, lush and silent.  The weather was perfect and the day sublime. – The view was better than any McCubbin,  reaching out and over Mt.Macedon foothills,  encompassing Hanging Rock,  The Jim-Jim and into infinity over the Cowbaw. I managed one photo suitable to make a lino cut.

Later in the afternoon we finished the day at my place on the deck with Gin-and-Tonics sans gin, plus cheese and biscuits, then trimmed a tree (after the fashion of Monty Don) which had spread its wings a little too far.

What a day!  Later in the week it seems we are going to the Atisha Buddhist Centre to see The Great Stupa (The one in the picture is in my garden). I could not have designed a better day… this is what happens when you take your hand off the wheel, and say OK to God’s Plan for you.

THIS IS MY NEW YEAR’S GIFT YO YOU…

Remember – God knows your secrets and loves you anyway.  Sins are just a failure to choose goodness, and they have a way of punishing  us when we ignore them. In every moment of every day goodness is a choice.   Every moment is a moment to make a good choice – a moment to think a good thought and to act on it.  God’s great blessing is that in every moment we can create ourselves again.  Now is the time for you to make a choice.

Namaste.  Jahne

Dearest Yogis,

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY CHRISTMAS – and thank you all for your support and generosity in the past,  difficult year.

MAYBE I WILL SEE YOU AT MY OPEN DAY (AFTERNOON) AFTER 2 TODAY AT 37 MORRIS ROAD, WOODEND.  Just drop in for a “Merry Christmas” a little drink and a piece of Christmas Cake.  Love to see you!  Mel at the Anglican Church is having a BBQ at the Manse for everyone after 5 today too.  So you can come here, and then go there – no need to be lonesome!  Everyone welcome – just come to me and to Mel.

We have made it through THE GREAT PAUSE, and now, unlike the rest of the world, we can get back to a (hesitant) normality.  One of our students has been so effected by the restrictions she says she has FOGO – “fear of going out”.  I know what she means.  We have been trained to do the required routine, and now we feel more relaxed in our own back yards – no distancing, no standing apart, no masks…  however, yoga is feeling marginally normal.  I do have more sanitising to do, but that is a small price to pay for the lovely people we have back in class.  Thank you all for coming back as soon as you could.

I am looking forward to the new year, and even more of you coming back to even more classes.  My project is to update the routine.  I will put it on the Home Page of www.yogabeautiful.com.au.  It is not there yet… I haven’t had a minute, but I will.

My BIG project for the new year is “THE 1,000 BUDDHA PROJECT”  I am going to paint 1,000 Buddhas – in miniature.  It took me 5 years to paint 1,000 Angels, I did it and finished the project in 2016 (I kept one for myself).  Buddhas in miniature won’t take me as long.  I am a Capricorn and I respond to a project, a goal.  What about you? Decide on a goal, and then tell your team (like I am telling you) – they will keep reminding you, when things get tough, they will keep you on track.

I am going to paint the Buddhas on tea bags, so if you would like to help and be a part of this project…., please send me a couple of tea bags complete with their little paper bags and tags.  I will do all the soaking and prep.  It would be wonderful to have little bags from all over Australia (or the world), from you.  Just one or two would be perfect.   Please send them to PO Box 14, Mt.Macedon. Vic. 3441.  A Christmas gift from you all.  Don’t forget.

Have a lovely Christmas.  Try to keep in mind that this a Spiritual time, not just a time for eating and getting.  The Great Conjunction led us into this week.  Let’s keep reminding ourselves of this – the Star which appeared over Bethlehem, appeared to us this week.  I went to “midnite mass” (at 8pm) last night.  We wore masks and kept distance, but it was wonderful to be back in our community – Being back with my community, giving thanks for the coming year,  was the absolute best Christmas Gift.

LOVE AND BLESSING TO YOU ALL, HAVE A FABULOUS CHRISTMAS.  (SAY GRACE FOR ME..)  YOU ARE WHY I DO WHAT I DO.

SEE YOU IN CLASS.  NAMASTE.  JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

I don’t know about you, but Christmas is almost over for me… and I am over it.  I am looking forward to being with friends,  the last classes for the year,  Christmas Midnite Mass (even if it is at 8pm).  I am looking forward to going shopping without the “Ho-ho-ho’s”  and yesterday in the darkness of the shortest day of the year (it was overcast so I did not get to see THE GREAT CONJUNCTION – Saturn and Jupiter align to create what appears to be a super star, perhaps The Star of Bethlehem? First recorded in 1226), I thought about the New year’s Resolutions I set for myself last year… It turns out that I kept them all.

My “New Year Resolutions” 2020……

  • I chose to surrender my fears of the unknown which was severely tested during the start of the Covid outbreak.  The “unknown” wasn’t the virus, it was how my community and others reacted to the virus.
  • I chose to recognize that I have manifested something extraordinary,  and for a while it served me over and above anything I could have anticipated.   It was absolutely a dream come true.  It was/is time to do things a different way.  I embraced ZOOM (kicking and screaming in the beginning), which has turned out to be a blessing and has changed how I teach.
  • I chose to recognize that my thoughts and emotions create my life.  I create whatever manifests in front of me – anything and EVERYTHING.  So if I have done it once, I can create the next level even smoother and better, which I am doing with my art. More meditation needed!
  • I chose to TRUST and to continue to dream in the “emptiness”,  while the new reality collapses from the quantum field of potentials (we are learning all about this in our Tuesday night Sutra Sessions). As the Buddha Says “I do what I can, with what I have where I am”.  Everything I need to get to the next level is right in front of me.  I have been given the time, the imagination, and the means to live my dream.  And I am.  ARE YOU?

ARTING UP

When I get involved in anything I involve you.  This week I have had the great joy of reworking a linocut I haven’t inked for about 15 years.  I don’t know how many copies I made from this in the past, but lots (and they all sold).  Turns out the plate has a few left in it before the print becomes fuzzy! (like me).  So I have re printed and hand coloured – if you want a copy there are only three on this beautiful Japanese printing paper.  They are $145 each,  measure 39 x 39cms  and I will have to investigate postage.  Light but Oversize – unless you decide to collect,  I will send in a tube.

As a friend said to me yesterday – “We missed THE GREAT CONJUNCTION because around here it was overcast, but we can carry it in our heart”

NAMASTE., JAHNE
