Good morning Yogis,

It has been such a lovely weekend.  I bought a GINKO tree today.  I have wanted one for YEARS, but they are so expensive.  I have succumbed and bought it, now I have to inspire it to grow for me.  Chewing on a green leaf a day is said to improve cognitive health and I need as much of that as possible….  There is so much to do.

SCHEDULE
ZOOM: Monday 6.30 Teacher Training, Tuesday 7.30 CCP, Friday 6.45 Tarot.
STUDIO: Monday 1pm Yoga, Wednesday 1pm Yoga (full), Wednesday 5.30 Restorative, Friday 5.30 Hatha

SATURDAY 27TH,  STUDIO WORKSHOP – MANDALAS AND TEMPERATURE CHARTS. $55 1pm to 4pm –
This workshop is important in working our way forward with a better understanding of who we are, what affects us (in reality – not guesswork), and what to do next.  All art materials provided.  I hope you will be able to bring (your temperature charts), and some nibbles to share. This is our last art day at the studio before Christmas.  I will share my chart with you – I am sure that the accuracy and insights of this chart will surprise you. PLEASE RSVP as soon as you can..

Because we are right in the middle of the pandemic (we are nowhere near the end – there are heaps more challenges to come), I think it is prudent to be as responsible for your own health and future as you can be.  To that end, I am going to focus on herbal/Bach Remedies for Covid symptoms.  I will do one every newsletter and hope that you will take this opportunity to embrace this herbal remedy.  Today GORSE, mainly because this plant is blooming everywhere at the moment.  Remember not to pick from anywhere near where the council has sprayed, it is not a native and becomes invasive hence the spraying.  Plus if you need to go onto private property, ask the landowner first please.

I remember when we had an old German Homeopath in the district, the Late Dr.VonMoger (long dead).  He used to be seen out and about collecting the pollen from the gorse.  He had little vials and a fluffy small paint brush.  Of course he wore a white coat during this collection process, very professional, very German.   This pollen collection was a whole lot harder and more intricate than collecting the actual blooms which I do.

Gorse – Not to be mistaken with BROOM which looks somewhat similar but has long whippy branches (used for making bee skeps).   Gorse is very prickly as you can see in the photograph.

GORSE is the remedy for those who have given up belief or hope in life.  Easy to recognise in our community as a result of Covid lock-downs and restrictions.  This mindset gives up hope of feeling better.  In a Gorse state one doesn’t consider a way out, instead it is a negative personality succumbing to the negativity. For example, someone who has lost their job – or been made redundant and loses hope of a positive future. In a Gorse state we may want to curl up into foetal position,  stay in bed and give up on the day and everything in front of us, unable or unwilling to change how we feel.  Just accepting accepting defeat.  There are a number examples every day in the news… and I am sure you have people like this close by.

The Gorse remedy helps us to restore our faith in the future, and more than that, to find a way forward.  We can accept that there is a positive outcome waiting for us, and can walk forward to meet it.  Bach therapies deals with people, not diseases…

“The main reason for failure of modern medical science is that it is dealing with results and not causes” – Dr.Bach “Heal Thyself”.

I WILL SEE YOU ON THE MAT.

NAMASTE. JAHNE

WHAT’S NEW.

We have finished the first CCP COURSE, and I am taking bookings for the second.

The more that I consider this course, the more I understand the qualities, the energies we are dealing with.  Before COVID I began a course in Herbal Medicine in particular the Bach Flower Remedies.  I have now finished the certificate and diploma courses, and have the documents to show you….It has been such an interesting journey and I realise now that it was put there for me so that I could expand even further the work of The Compassionate Companions.   I am not ready yet, but when I am, I will introduce to you the Bach Flower Remedies and Flower Essences for those who are “failing” or are on their was to the “next place”.   The flower essences deal with emotions not diseases and are therefore perfect to be given to our clients.  They can do no harm, can be given no matter what other drugs have been prescribed…. and these essences work.

If you are interested in expanding your CCP course, or learning about Flower Essences in a Hospice or Hospital situation, please email me.

RELAXATION
It has been such a wonderful wet winter, and plants which had struggled in the “dry” are not just growing they are thriving.  I have been very pleased to make up tea bags of HAWTHORN TEA, and Packs of SMOKING HERBS for relaxation.

HAWTHORN TEA.  I have been taking this tea after my covid vaccination caused my blood pressure to escalate to dangerous levels… Today I am pleased to let you know that My lunch time reading was 112/67.  A very good BP reading for anyone.

If you would like to join me, or you know someone who needs this simple therapy,  One tea bag lasts at least all day.  You can drop it in your usual tea or have it alone.  It is a lovely mild tea, and one of my clients says it tastes and smells like ordinary tea.  I have packed 6 tea bags for $25 including postage. Buy with PayPal (and debit or credit) in the at www.myyogabooks.etsy.com

SMOKING HERBS.  I have always been totally opposed to smoking cigarettes as my mum and dad were both chain smokers.  The house and everything in it had the dark, acrid smell of nicotine, and I determined early on that when I grew up I wanted my house to smell lovely, and most of the time it does.

However, I was not introduced to herbal smoke until I was in my early teens.  I remember the ’60 (yes, I was there), and loved herbal smoke taken carefully.

Today I have grown and milled my own smoking herbs and I offer them to you (yes, there is a book on etsy too).  These herbs smell lovely and they are lovely.  They are relaxing without containing cannabis, although they do contain damiana which I am told is a cannabis substitute.  Whatever, this is a mild, relaxing smoke.  I make my own pipes with very small bowls so that I can indulge and not be overpowered.  Even making them is relaxing, particularly drying the hops.  If you want to join me, or buy a bag to gift to someone for Christmas… then the cost is  $30 for 25grams (they are very light and fluffy).  This includes postage.  Buy with PayPal (and Credit or debit) at www.myyogabooks.etsy.com

Please, come to yoga, tarot, or the workshops.  I would love to see you…

SEE YOU ON THE MAT,

NAMSTE JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

As I have said – I am having a fabulous time in the garden…. Even if it is cold and damp (and 1degree) .  Having the Bach therapies as a focus it is amazing how many of the herbs are actually in my garden.  I have been gradually collecting, and with this wet weather (much like English weather I guess) all there herbs, even those i have forgotten about,  are appearing.    The photographs where possible are taken in my garden, as below.  When you come on the 27th for our Mandala drawing day, and Christmas break-up, you can see the herbs all flourishing, I hope I will have named a good number by then.

I had to get out in the garden.  I have been studying another aspect of YOGA –  the Certificate then the Advanced Bach Therapy Diploma –  since the start of Covid, and now I have completed, done the exam, and passed.    I am at a loose end.  What to study next? I love the discipline of study.

SCHEDULE ON ZOOM AND IN THE STUDIO
WEDNESDAY 1PM restorative studio yoga (FULL), 5.30 Studio Restorative (2 vacancies – please email to book),
FRIDAY
Studio 5.30 yoga, 6.45 zoom tarot.

MY “BACH” ESSENCES. All Essences prepared and used as demonstrated by Dr.Edward Bach.  Treatment posted to you in the real  “Bach” phials –  bottles with droppers.  Energies activated by the sun, bottled in Rain water, preserved with a drop of alcohol. Taken 4 drops under the tongue, in water as often as you need.  For children,  plants and animals the drops can be given in water.  My indoor plants just love their Bach Remedies.   (I will add more remedies here and in the shop every day and you can find them on the shop at www.yogabeautiful.com.au)

Wisteria (Chinese) (W. Sinensis) – Vitality.   Every year at this time I am inspired by the glorious wisteria covering my verandah.  Certainly strong, vital.  Wisteria essence can strengthen the meridians, thus improving vitality. It supports the etheric body in its role of feeding nutrients (in the form of energy) into portions of the subtle body. This is an excellent remedy for acupuncturists or for those using massage.   $25.00 including postage

Centaury (Centaurium Erythraea) – Assertiveness.    This is for people that can’t say no. For those that neglect their own needs in fact believe this is a virtue,  and are servile with others. These beings want to “keep the peace” and  generally will do anything to avoid confrontation.  This remedy for times when they feel their kind hearted nature will be taken advantage of.    $25 including postage

Valerian (Valerianacea) – Mental function. If you have visited my garden I know I would have invited you to experience  my Valerian patch. It is amazing, and the perfume is intoxicating.   Over time Valerian flower essence changes the mental body, it allows its border (where it is connected to emotional, astral, causal bodies), to shift.  This herb often used by Western herbalists for inducing sleep, energetically allows the opportunity to blend energies with the mental body.  $25 including postage

Rhubarb (Rheum Rhabarbarum) – Heart Energy.  You think this is just a dessert, but the energy of the flowers bring  a greater coordination between the left and right brain hemispheres (for those like me who have R.L challenges).  The flowers even look like a brain don’t you think?   The harmony of “signatures”.

The energy creates a greater harmony of thought by balancing the analytical and the intuitive aspects. Not just for the psychic self, Rhubarb can help clear one’s relationship to self, and in this way opens up the possibilities of more loving relationships with others.  The heart chakra is opened on a deep level, so one can understand love on more than just a physical level, perhaps even on a multi-dimensional level.   $25 including postage

DR.BACH’S SYSTEM TREATS THE EMOTIONSand not the triggers that cause them.  These triggers are the same for every culture and in every time frame..  for all time, every year, every century.

The term “yoga” has many traditional meanings.  With regards to Ayurveda, yoga refers to “right usage” and the “right combination” of herbs.  When we speak of a special combination of substances designed to bring about a specific effect in the mind and/or the body, it is called a “YOGA”.     Ayurveda which is the ancient science of herbal energetics is a system for determining the qualities and powers of herbs according to the laws of nature, so that herbs can be used objectively and specifically according to individual conditions.  A YOGIC USE OF HERBS IMPLIES AN HARMONIC APPLICATION OF THE POTENCIES OF HERBS.  The strength of Ayurveda lies in its all-encompassing view between organic physiological processes with internal emotional stages, as opposed to Western medicine which takes a more particular view based on molecular structure and chemistry.

Dr. Bach started his life embracing the Western “scientific view”, and ended his life in a tiny isolated cottage in Wales devising this very Yogic herbal system, which is closely aligned with the yogic view of energy – although I doubt that he had ever heard of yoga.

In Ayurveda as in Bach healing,  disease occurs not as an arbitrary phenomenon, but for definite reasons which if understood could prevent recurrence.  The fundamental error of Western medicine is to the treat the disease rather than the patient.

Evolution is the manifestation of latent potentials.  Within each thing is contained ALL things.  In the seed is the tree and in the tree is the forest.  Consciousness exists in all forms of life.  Life, creation and evolution are all stages in the unfoldment of consciousness.  Every living thing, everything is sentient, and from that point of view “human”. Plants transmit the vital-emotional impulses, the life force that is hidden in light.  This, Dr.Bach understood very well, and it was the basis of his collection of energy from his remedies.

To become a true herbalist (which Dr.Bach called himself) means to become a seer.  This means that you become sensitive to the being of the herbs, to communicate in receptive awareness with the plant-light of the universe – TO LOOK AT THE HERB AS ONE’S TEACHER.

I will see you on the mat,  soon

NAMASTE, JAHNE
