Dear Yogis,

I have tried doing different things, different formats, but it doesn’t make much difference so I have gone back to the old way of doing things.  I seem to get more readers this way.

THE TAROT:  Tuesday before last there was a late nite shopping occasion at Art on Piper.  I volunteered to be a tarot reader (against some push-back as usual) however, it was popular and I sold not only readings but also the deck.  Notification came through yesterday with deposit – so all good.  It is amazing what is selling at the moment.

THE GREAT STUPA :  seems my art will be represented at THE GREAT STUPA in Marong.  I thought I would do some images on silk, take some to Mt.Macedon Gallery, some to Art on Piper and some to The Stupa.  Cards and framed.  I am having good success using Sumi techniques.  It is a learning curve, but everything is.

Once I have a body of work I will display it, and I could decide that this is what I will demonstrate when I work at Dromkeen over Christmas holidays.  An intro at WAMM in October, and at Art on Piper.  

If I have enough work I will invite you to the studio to see it.  A special exhibition in my SMALL GALLERY OF SMALL THINGS.

 

YOGA –  WHAT’S ON…..

YOGA LUNCH at the VIC.  12 noon SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER.  Mark it in your diary.

WAMM – The Woodend Art Market.  You will need to pop in and enjoy the vibe,  and as far as I can tell it is on Saturday 24th October 10 am to 2pm.  I will be there and plan to show some of my calligraphy and be working on it.

MONDAY:  Studio yoga 1pm, Zoom 6.30.

TUESDAY:  Gentle Core Yoga 1pm by appointment.  This is a special class – almost one-on-one.

WEDNESDAY: Chair Yoga 10am Here at the studio.  1pm Studio Restorative Yoga as usual.

FRIDAY:1pm Studio Yoga – new time.

Dear Yogis, another week, another hack.

I don’t like to be the harbinger of less than positive news, but I am sure you have been noticing dwindling classes, as artists less than big sales (cards yes!) , less people popping in to ask about your offerings.  It is universal, and I am not sure how it will end.  Trump is spending money like its a bottomless pit, the world is fighting back (look at Germany!) and all the while the interest rates from all these borrowings, and our borrowings are getting higher and higher.  Pauline may help allowing to access our own money, but it may never happen.  People will always find money for movies, football and lipstick – those are the stocks, and businesses to go for.  They grew in the depression, they will win now..

SPRING IS COMING, start thinking of your veg garden, lemons are cheap make marmalade, bananas are coming make jam, chutney and dry them.  There is lots to do.  The photo is of my pond.  Lovely isn’t it.

As i say to my students,  keep in mind that many of our practices, those we have been doing for years, are not quite suited to the the female pelvis.  There is certainly no consideration of our changing hormones, or the demands of family life and motherhood.  My practice reflects where I am in my life – it is an evolving practice.  I am not stuck in one way – it is my way, and your yoga should reflect your life and your way.

Our lunch was great (as usual), but I would have loved more of you to join in! Only a couple more and we will be at the end of the year.

Welcome home to those of you who have been travelling.  With all the conflicts in the world, and natural disasters, I think you are very brave going anywhere.  I don’t plan to travel in the near future, and am just now getting back into the garden.  It is very satisfying to see the the difference a small amount of time will make.  I don’t plan any changes, justn catching up with the planting after the possum raids, and the frosts.  Inhave notices some rogue footprints on the path to the yoga room, and I located the cause – a large, beautiful, feral cat, which looks like it lives under the house.  With the cat calling it home,  there will be no mice, and no possums, it is a very large cat.

On Sunday after the lunch I went to Trio Road Gallery for their latest exhibition. The drawcard for myself and yogis (apart from the fact I have work there), are the fabulous gongs.  They dont ring the same as Tibetan Gond the sound of which is circular and rising, these on show have a long constant sound.  They say they are good for meditation but I am not sure.  The sound of Tibetan gongs carry you upwards, thats one of their functions.  There was no indications that these modern gong could be used for healing.    I would be interested to know what you think.
