Dear Yogis,

Sunday evening again – no time in the morning ro do the newsletter.

Yesterday I was at the Mt.Macedon Gallery – I took in a basket of Mildred painted on small rocks, as I was placing them out they were selling – how good is that!  Maybe I didn’t charge enough?  Also sold cards at The Woodend Bookstore, more please.  I plan in the next few days to place my soft sculptures on stands.  It makes such a difference.

You would never believe it but I have a Thermomix, accidentally.

I was commissioned to paint a rather larger painting than is my usual, and payment worked out to be the thermomix.  I thought well if I don’t like it I can sell it.  But I don’t think I will.  I have been chopping herbs today, coffee beans later on.  I think I am going to save money!  Always a pleasure.  It was so easy.  I have seen others use it and the noise was awful – mine is OK, maybe the blades on my machine are sharper than theirs, though if I grind up too much coffee then I think they will be not so efficient in the long run.  I look in the fridge now and see things I can use my TM for.  I will let you know how I go.  The coffee alone is an adventure.    Coleslaw, nut butters, almond milk, hemp milk and so on.  No souffles or triple decker sponges!  You never know, I might be in the kitchen long enough to use the dishwasher!

You know whats going to happen don’t you.  I am going to get so enthusiastic that I will want you to join me on this journey.  Jayne Boyle one of my graduates who has a yoga school in Bendigo told me that this would happen.  Her husband uses theirs all the time – I am told that guys really love using them.  Give a by a tool and he will use it.

NAMASTE – JAHNE

Dear Yogis,

The Yoga Classes are going well, people signing up, but on the other hand we are coming in to winter, and around here, people disappear when the weather gets colder.  I wonder if increased prices will change that?  Somehow I don’t think so.  It is the “now or never” point of view.

I went to an exhibition at Trio Road Gallery in Kyneton today.  So many notable artists works on display, so many red tickets.  The super talented Butterworths were there, I had a great time chatting as I had taught yoga to the (late) grandpa.  He was such a character – although they all have the reputation for “crazy” so I felt quite at home .  Then of course Samantha Gardiner – great work (and another ex-yogi).  Get onto the internet  TRIO ROAD GALLERY and go see the exhibition as soon as you can.  It is open Saturday, Sunday, Mondays to the end of the month.

The work to the side here – “Dog Rose” is at the exhibition, along with my “Specimen Box” with a group of prints of these botanicals on t-bags, all miniature, pinned like specimens.

Dear Yogis,

It has been an unusual weekend..  raining almost non-stop, dark, grey.  I tried to get enthused by writing, painting, and in the end I got on top of things I just had to complete, then I played around with cards, and T-Bag cards (I am very low on cards at the gallery)  and began a project to add seeds to the cards, so if you bought a card with a dandelion on the front, you could plant the tea bag afterwards and the seeds would grow!

I also finished the book THE SALT PATH last night.  I had read snippets of it (had resisted the film) but the book turned up at the op-shop.  It was quite an inspiring story.  I think that the couple had been in love with each other since they first met, and now retired, that passionate love had not dimmed and it was this strong emotion, this caring for each other, that carried them through situations that we really can’t imagine going through ourselves..
